Switched Life:I Went Viral on a Family Variety Show-Chapter 127: Both Groups Score Evenly
Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Both Groups Score Evenly
Sang Ning looked at Chu Xi, only to see her face suddenly flush with blood. The next second, she clutched her chest, closed her eyes, and dramatically leaned backwards.
Sang Ning: "..."
She was truly speechless. Shen Yi fainted forward, and now Chu Xi was collapsing backward. What an oddly perfect match.
"Xixi!" Li Sulan shouted in panic.
Fortunately, there was a bed behind Chu Xi, or she would’ve hit her head and turned silly!
Sang Ning glanced at Shen Yi and said indifferently, "Your fans have pretty weak psychological resilience. You should stop throwing around the word ’defan’ so casually with them."
Shen Yi didn’t respond. His lips were pressed tightly together, pale, and he looked like he was about to lose it.
Li Sulan wanted to help Chu Xi up, but she couldn’t muster the strength. She looked up and glared at Sang Ning angrily: "You made Xiao Xi faint, and still have the nerve to chat? Hurry up and go find a doctor!"
Sang Ning replied unhurriedly, "Why panic? Chu Xi fainted from anger; she’ll be fine after a nap."
As she spoke, she bent down and began to take off Chu Xi’s shoes.
Li Sulan fixated on Sang Ning’s hands, her face filled with confusion. "What are you doing?"
Sang Ning had already removed one of Chu Xi’s shoes. She raised her head to glance at Li Sulan, then lowered her head again, saying carelessly, "Earlier, Shen Yi fainted and rested on my bed for half an hour. Now that Chu Xi has fainted, I’ll let her rest on the same bed for half an hour. Sleeping on the bed of an idol can effectively prevent her from going crazy."
Li Sulan: "..."
Shen Yi: "..."
Under normal circumstances, a person fainted wouldn’t resist. But as Sang Ning was removing Chu Xi’s shoes, she clearly felt a weak opposition.
After taking off Chu Xi’s second shoe and crudely tossing her onto the bed, Sang Ning looked at the person lying with closed eyes and shook her head repeatedly.
She let out a long sigh and said, "Her athlete’s foot is pretty bad. Looks like this bed is unusable now. I’ll just go squeeze in with my mom tonight."
The feet on the bed twitched ever so slightly, before quickly relaxing again.
Chu Xi could only silently grit her teeth and curse Sang Ning in her mind.
She hadn’t expected Shen Yi to actually say something as harsh as telling her to ’defan.’ The shock and humiliation overwhelmed her to the point of fainting.
But as soon as she hit the bed, she woke from the impact and decided to feign unconsciousness. She was terrified Shen Yi would continue talking about ’defan’ if she got up, so she chose to play dead.
And yet, Sang Ning—the little wench—actually accused her of having athlete’s foot. Truly despicable!
Sang Ning turned and walked out of the bedroom when a furious voice boomed behind her: "Stop right there!"
Sang Ning turned back to see Li Sulan standing with one hand on her hip, her expression fierce.
Sang Ning held a finger to her lips in a silencing gesture. As Li Sulan hesitated, she walked straight out of the room.
"This girl is getting worse and worse!" Li Sulan was quivering with rage.
At that moment, Shen Yi moved to leave as well, but Li Sulan hurriedly grabbed his hand from behind.
Shen Yi turned around, and Li Sulan instantly adopted a condescending posture, her chin slightly lifted. "Do you know my daughter likes you?"
Shen Yi’s expression was cold, showing no regard for Li Sulan’s status as he rudely pulled his hand away. "Her affection is a burden to me. All I ask is that she retracts it."
After years in the entertainment industry, Shen Yi had encountered his fair share of extreme fans. But Chu Xi was the first one to make him feel both psychological and physical distress.
Li Sulan’s face turned sour at the public rejection, and she lashed out, "With an attitude like that, do you believe I can blacklist you?"
"Do as you please!" Shen Yi didn’t back down or apologize. Instead, he shot her a disdainful glance and stormed off.
"One roof, two impossible households," he muttered. Chu Xi and her mother sure were a piece of work.
Once the bedroom quieted down, a trembling voice broke the silence: "Mom~"
Li Sulan responded quickly, rushing back to Chu Xi’s bedside. Chu Xi grabbed her hand, her eyes brimming with earnestness: "Mom, I’m sorry. I got too emotional earlier and couldn’t control myself. You’re not mad at me, are you?"
"Silly child, what nonsense are you saying? My heart aches for you; I could never be mad." Li Sulan stroked Chu Xi’s face affectionately.
Speaking earnestly, she continued, "I understand your feelings for Shen Yi, but you must learn to control your emotions. Men like soft and pitiful women. Before you win them over, don’t lose your temper in front of them; it’ll only make them dislike you.
Take your father, for instance. When he was younger, he loved my delicate demeanor. After we got married, I had him wrapped around my finger. Look at him now—he doesn’t even dare to breathe loudly in front of me!"
Chu Xi flushed with embarrassment and said shyly, "Mom, stop saying such nonsense. Shen Yi is just my idol!"
"Oh, please. Do you think you can fool me with that little act?" Li Sulan affectionately pinched Chu Xi’s cheek. "Don’t worry. Shen Yi is just a celebrity; he’s not that difficult to handle. Mom will help you."
Chu Xi squeezed Li Sulan’s hand in return, her expression turning solemn. "What if Sang Ning likes Shen Yi too?"
Li Sulan paused, her gaze unwavering. "If there’s something you both want, it’s hers you’ll get, no questions asked."
A shadow of complexity flickered in Li Sulan’s eyes. Even though she entertained the idea of bringing Sang Ning back to the Chu Family, there was no doubt her loyalty would always lean toward Chu Xi.
After all, Sang Ning had lived comfortably in the Chu Family for twenty years. Making way for Chu Xi was hardly unreasonable.
Chu Xi’s lips curved into a satisfied smile, the weight in her heart finally lifted.
The past two days had seen Li Sulan softening her attitude toward Sang Ning. The two even shared the same suite, yet Li Sulan remained blissfully ignorant of Shen Yi resting in Sang Ning’s bed for thirty minutes.
Chu Xi couldn’t help but suspect Li Sulan of deliberately siding with Sang Ning. Her earlier frustration was partly due to being provoked by Sang Ning, but also a deliberate attempt to act out in front of Li Sulan, testing the woman’s emotional limits.
Now it was clear: no matter how outrageous her behavior, Li Sulan would always stand by her.
From now on, she wouldn’t have to humble herself like before. She could fully embrace the privileges that came with being the Chu Family’s young lady.
Time for the score reveal.
All the guests had arrived and quietly turned their attention to Qian Yang standing at the front.
On the surface, everything seemed calm; no one mentioned the chaos from the courtyard earlier.
Only Chu Xi occasionally shot resentful glances at Sang Ning, quickly reverting to an innocent demeanor whenever the camera panned to her.
Qian Yang addressed the guests, thanking everyone while particularly singling out Sang Ning for praise.
Her explanations at Xingyun Hall were impressive enough to warrant being edited into standalone educational videos.
After some brief gratitude, the exciting moment arrived: the score announcement.
Aside from Sang Ning and Shen Yi’s group, the other two pairs were hosting loyal superfans. Predictably, they would score exceptionally high.
Sang Ning remained composed. Her group had clearly been entertaining haters all day. Of course, they’d end up at the bottom. She only needed to clap along to celebrate once Qian Yang announced the top team.
Qian Yang held the cue card and paused for suspense. After creating a brief tension, he suddenly raised his voice and declared, "I am thrilled to announce that two reception teams have achieved perfect scores of 100!"
