57 -57: As Expected

Blue Dragon flew away, leaving Leon alone now, or it might be more appropriate to say leaving a dragon alone.

Leon usually wakes up at noon, but today he got up early to collect sun essence.

Now that he’s done with the collection, he can’t seem to fall back asleep and isn’t sure what to do next.

How could he not know what to do?

He hasn’t even had breakfast yet.

Leon flapped his wings and took flight, circling the sky and, luckily, spotted a group of camels.

He feasted on one in a single breath, and then again had no idea what to do next.

This time he truly didn’t know what to do.

Then, Leon who was idle at the moment uncontrollably remembered what Blue Dragon had said…

Leon came to the desert primarily due to being tired of the forest scenery, not in search of a new lair to scramble around for.

He wasn’t really interested in fighting for the territory of Efreeti, but was purely curious about geothermal activity and boiling springs.

However, thinking about it, probably no Efreeti would believe that a Red Dragon came to their territory just to see the geothermal and boiling springs, and it usually ends up in a big fight.

If Efreeti couldn’t see the situation and insisted on causing him trouble, it was their own undoing at the end, not his fault; Efreeti weren’t his parents, and there was no need to worry so much about them.

Leon easily convinced himself.

Leon recalled that while Blue Dragon hadn’t specified where the Efreeti territory was, after looking around, he gazed towards the north…

East is where the sun rises, and to the left of the east must be north, so it was easy to guess the direction of the Efreeti territory.

Leon set off decisively flying North; after less than half an hour in the air, he saw from afar a bald rocky mountain encircling a foggy crater.

Leon sped up his flapping and soon landed on one of those rocky mountains, looking down into the crater.

At a glance, there were many lakes of various sizes in the crater, all quite shallow, barely reaching a normal person’s shins, while the lake water was boiling, constantly emitting steam.

Outside the lakes, the ground was visibly fractured, with flames intermittently spewing from the cracks.

The final giant stone-built Dome Castle stood in the middle of the crater, especially majestic.

Leon saw Steam Mephits made of water and fire, and Fire Elements that looked like dancing human-shaped flames.

The Fire Elements are vulnerable to Freezing damage when in water, even boiling water, hence they moved around in areas far from the lakes.

Fire Snakes only need a year to grow into Salamanders, growing human-like arms on their serpentine bodies and moving forward by slithering, using their arms to wield weapons or tools, inhabiting stone houses far from Dome Castle.

The dark-skinned Sand Dune Goblins were the main slaves here, only willing to work under the supervision of Salamanders, along with Humans, Dwarves, and Orcs, among others.

What was that sound of wings flapping?

Following the direction of the sound, Leon saw the Blue Dragon he had seen in the morning flying over, slowly landing next to him.

“I knew you would come,” Blue Dragon shook his head as if shaking something off.

“I never said I wouldn’t come,” Leon retorted, “What brought you here?”

“I saw you setting off, so I followed,” Blue Dragon said, “Sister was worried you might be at a disadvantage.”

“One Efreeti is not worth my full effort,” Leon scoffed coldly.

The Challenge Level of an Efreeti is not low; it is good at flying, uses scimitars in close combat, throws Fierce Flame at range, and is skilled in Spells.

As its name suggests, it is immune to flames, and an ordinary juvenile Red Dragon is definitely no match for it.

Even if the flames are ineffective, battling with a younger Red Dragon would still be tough.

However, the only one of Leon’s attacks related to fire is the Samadhi True Fire, but that’s a Great Divine Power.

Even with Flame Immunity, it must suffer damage, as evidenced by his own tail’s sorry state—hence his confidence in facing the Efreeti without falling behind…

more confidently, not just without falling behind, but with a significant advantage.

“If you can take down the Efreeti alone, all of its possessions, whether this territory or the treasures, will be yours,” Blue Dragon said, glancing at the crater and quickly concluding, “It wasn’t like this the last time I was here.

The Efreeti is transforming this place, and soon, Molten Lava will erupt and fill this area, turning it into a Molten Lava Lake.”

Leon glanced at Blue Dragon and said, “It seems I never mentioned that I wanted to drive away the Efreeti and occupy this place, did I?”

“You don’t have to be afraid.

Just call me ‘sister,’ and sister will help you,” Blue Dragon said.

“Once you occupy this place, perhaps we can become allies.”

Leon wanted to speak but held back.

He only intended to take a look and then leave shortly.

“Be careful, the Efreeti is coming out,” Blue Dragon suddenly warned.

The Efreeti is coming out?

Leon hastily looked towards the crater, only to see a burly giant, with its lower half being a mix of ash and embers, flying out from the Dome Castle.

The Efreeti had horns on its head and wielded a huge scimitar.

Its magma-red skin was draped in a beautiful silk robe, adorned with shiny gold earrings, chains, and rings, giving off a nouveau-riche, flamboyant look.

Upon seeing the two dragons, its body immediately ignited in flames, entering a state of intense fury.

“When did the Red Dragon and Blue Dragon start colluding?” the Efreeti, hovering in mid-air, pointed the scimitar at Leon and Blue Dragon, “You think you, a pair of worthless lovebirds, dare covet my territory and treasures?”

“Just hear me out,” Leon sighed.

“Are you begging for mercy?” the Efreeti said, “I’m currently lacking a mount.

Once I put a collar on you, I’ll have one.

A gold collar embedded with gemstones, something you could never acquire in your lifetime.”

“Say that again!!” Leon threatened, realizing that not only was the Efreeti hot-tempered, but it also had a sharp tongue.

He reasonably suspected that the Efreeti had been bullied by Red Dragons in the past, as Red Dragons do plunder Efreeti territories for nesting.

“Alright, alright.” The Efreeti suddenly softened, holding the scimitar with both hands, spinning around in mid-air, “Go on, say something.”

Just as Leon was organizing his thoughts to speak, the Efreeti started chanting a Spell, growing larger and slowly flying towards him, slowly raising its scimitar.

Indeed, so like an Efreeti—arrogant, malevolent, hypocritical, cunning, and ruthless.

Leon, who had been on guard against the Efreeti, naturally would not fall to its sneak attack and swiped it away with his tail.

“I’m going to kill you,” Leon said calmly.

“Now, I’ve said everything.”

It ended up going this way after all.

Leon was ready for battle.

Blue Dragon flew to the side, blinked, and appeared excited.

The show was about to begin, looking forward to Red Dragon turning to her for help.
