Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon's Might-Chapter 66 - Let’s go together, let’s go together
66: Chapter 66 Let’s go together, let’s go together
66 -66 Let’s go together, let’s go together
Leon had been in the desert for almost half a year since leaving the forest.
Normally, he maintained his human form when in the Oasis City, and turned into his Dragon Form whenever he left, always traveling by flight.
Riding a camel was a rare occurrence, and he found it quite novel.
As long as he didn’t have to expend energy walking, he didn’t mind the slow pace at all.
He even took the opportunity to observe the different scenery and small animals hidden beneath the sand, which he wouldn’t notice while soaring hundreds or thousands of meters in the air.
“That is a Cloud Sailing Snake, which usually lives in warm forests, though some subspecies prefer the scorching deserts.
They are highly territorial and aggressive creatures; they wouldn’t hesitate to attack you even if you transformed into a Red Dragon.”
“Sand Hounds, they like to appear in groups; you would never expect them to be gentle…
They maintain a long-term good relationship with the desert people, often cooperating in hunting and working.”
“That’s a big Iron Thorns… Its sap is a natural hardening agent, useful for making armor and so on.”
Tassera was knowledgeable, solving all the mysteries of unfamiliar creatures Leon encountered upon his arrival in the desert.
“Amazing.”
“You really know a lot.”
Since it cost nothing, Leon didn’t skimp on praise, which flattered Blue Dragon, making her slightly drift in elation.
Sitting on the camel and swinging her legs, she confidently said, “Any more questions?
Whether it regards unknown creatures or unknown magic…
Magical mathematics, astronomy, geography, your sister here knows them all.”
“Prove that when the integer n > 2, the equation x^n + y^n = z^n has no positive integer solutions,” Leon whimsically asked with a chuckle.
“Uh…”
Most people wouldn’t understand Leon’s question, but as a Mage, Tassera understood mathematics well.
She could understand the question but was completely unable to answer it.
Realizing Leon was watching her, Tassera nodded and swiftly changed the subject: “If you see an oasis in the desert, don’t approach it carelessly because it might be a Mirage created by a Blue Dragon.
The key to creating a Mirage lies in the manipulation of air, and not any Blue Dragon can do it… Of course, I can; who am I if not a genius?”
Leon smiled and remained silent.
They continued forward.
Suddenly, a giant striped lizard burst out from underneath the sand.
It was nearly ten meters long, its body orange and covered with tumors, with a thick tail and a powerful mouth full of sharp giant teeth.
“Tassera?” Leon called out, but the Blue Dragon seemed lost in thought, vaguely confused.
He had no choice but to jump off the camel and face the giant striped lizard alone, picking up a demi-sword to fight.
The giant striped lizard’s skin was thick and tough; Leon’s sword was hardly effective against it…
His strength in human form was not as great as in his Dragon Form, and a normal demi-sword wasn’t as powerful as the giant sword he used as a dragon, especially since he wasn’t bonded to the demi-sword and lacked proficiency.
If Leon were in his Dragon Form, wielding his several meter-long sword, perhaps a single slice might be enough to decapitate the giant striped lizard and win.
The giant striped lizard’s attacks were fierce; Leon decisively used His Gathering Form and Scattering Energy technique.
This wasn’t working, he had to use spells…
The immobilization spell, Samadhi True Fire, Leon pulled out his ultimate skills which he kept as last resorts, and after a tough fight managed to bleed out and fatally strike the giant striped lizard.
Of course, they wouldn’t just leave the dead giant striped lizard there.
Tassera provided Magic Items necessary like a stove that didn’t need charcoal and spices, while Leon was in charge of cutting the meat of the giant striped lizard and cooking it, finally sharing it one piece each.
“Your culinary skills are quite good.”
“Of course.”
“Where did you learn so much?”
“Secret.”
“It seems like someone is approaching us.”
“Where?”
Leon looked in the direction Tassera was pointing and saw a group of adventurers, five people in total.
A human Barbarian wrapped in animal skins carried a giant axe, a short Halfling with two daggers was definitely a Wanderer, the bard carrying a Lute had slightly pointed ears, the black man holding a Magic Wand, it was unclear if he was a Mage or a Contract Master, and the last was a particularly cheerful warrior in his thirties…
quite an odd group.
“You two actually hunted such a large giant striped lizard…
impressive.” Leon had expected the bard, with his charm, to come forward for a chat as it’s essential in the story plot, but it was the cheerful warrior who approached first, “Are you also heading to that rumored ruin?”
“Yes.” Leon replied amicably.
He was currently in his human form, which made it easier to talk.
“Just the two of you?”
“Yes.”
“Aren’t two people afraid of the dangers?
Why not join us, more people more power.”
“Wait.” Hearing the cheerful warrior’s words, the bard quickly said, “Why are you inviting them on our behalf?”
“With these two strong individuals joining, our adventure would definitely go smoother,” the cheerful warrior explained.
“That makes sense.” The bard nodded.
“What do you think?” The cheerful warrior looked at Leon, “Would you like to join us?

or we could go to the tomb together and split up once we’re there.”
Leon glanced at Tassera, saw the Blue Dragon nodding, and then agreed on the spot: “We can go to the tomb together, and discuss later matters afterwards.”
“Then it’s settled,” the cheerful warrior said, looking at the giant striped lizard, “You probably can’t finish such a large striped lizard by yourselves, can you share some with us?”
“Help yourselves.” Leon was generous.
The cheerful warrior was very sociable, and in just a few minutes, Leon got to know his name was Eggon, as well as the names of the other members, including the Barbarian’s path, the simple way to differentiate Halflings and Gnomes, the bard’s story-telling skills, that the black man was a Contract Master, and the Sect Master was a Djinni.
“You’re really boring, chatting with that guy.”
That sentence was transmitted directly into Leon’s mind via a Communication Skill from the Transformation series.
Leon looked towards Tassera and shrugged, signaling her to continue.
“Didn’t you notice, take a good look at who that guy is?”
Leon activated the Heavenly Eye Technique and looked at the cheerful warrior—
A Brass Dragon?
That guy was actually a Brass Dragon!
However, looking at the Brass Dragon chatting away, Leon was 100% sure the other did not recognize his identity like how the original Blue Dragon had early on, the Brass Dragon was just pretending not to know.
This guy really didn’t know anything.
So to say, why hadn’t he met a single dragon in the past decade, but recently they show up one after another…
twos but not threes.
