Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon's Might-Chapter 79 - Unflustered in Danger, Efreeti
79: Chapter 79: Unflustered in Danger, Efreeti
79 -79: Unflustered in Danger, Efreeti
“The time has finally come…”
The Efreeti had been waiting impatiently and finally spotted the silhouette of the Brass Dragon circling in the sky.
The Brass Dragon slowly descended from the sky to the ground, not bothering to greet the Efreeti.
His gaze almost entirely fell on the adventurers and mercenaries, lured in by the black men.
As a good dragon, he didn’t want to see so many mortals march to their demise.
He said, “Besides us, there are that many mortals as well?”
Had it not been for the sight of these mortals, the Brass Dragon’s original plan was to circle in the sky once to signal to the Efreeti his arrival and then depart.
“Why did you call them here?” The Brass Dragon asked, looking towards the Efreeti.
Before the Efreeti could answer, the Brass Dragon opened his mouth full of sharp teeth, fixing a deadly stare on those people and said, “Do you know what you are doing, setting your minds on assisting a Fire Giant?
It’s not too late to leave.
As long as I am here, he wouldn’t dare lay a hand on you.”
In fact, many people had already considered leaving upon seeing the Efreeti, but after the Efreeti swiftly killed one with his sword, everyone promptly settled down.
Now with the Brass Dragon’s assurance, some people immediately prepared to leave, quickly vanishing behind the sand dunes; however, a few still remained in the end.
The Brass Dragon is a good dragon, not a saint.
If he can’t persuade them, so be it.
“I originally wanted to use them as cannon fodder…” chuckled the Efreeti.
The Efreeti took the lead towards the Steam Lake, with everyone except the Brass Dragon following him along the narrow path between the stone mountains towards the Steam Lake.
As they entered the Steam Lake, a wave of intense heat hit them immediately, but for the Efreeti, it was no different than a gentle breeze.
“Come forth, my servants,” said the Efreeti, spreading his arms.
As he did, huge cracks nearby spouted fierce flames, and after the flames went out, one Fire Element after another appeared, accompanied by a few Fire Element Servants wielding curved swords.
The commotion caused by the Efreeti inevitably alerted the Salamanders, and they appeared one by one, weapons in hand.
Seeing the Salamanders slithering towards him, the Efreeti couldn’t help but smile and said, “Ah, my slaves, your master has returned…
Come to my side now.
Your defection to the Red Dragon, your surrender to the enemy will be overlooked.”
The words of the Efreeti immediately caused a stir among the Salamanders.
Compared to the Efreeti, the Red Dragon treated them far better, often allowing them to live freely in the Steam Lake and to keep their possessions when it wasn’t around.
The Salamanders obviously didn’t want to return to the Efreeti.
However, the Efreeti was their former master, who had always enslaved them, and at this moment, they were utterly incapable of resisting the fear imprinted in their very bones and the depths of their souls, the fear of opposing the Efreeti.
It was then that the Red Dragon flew out from the castle in the middle of the Steam Lake.
Leon landed on the stone mountain and taunted, “Look who’s here, it’s my failed underling.”
The Efreeti’s face was expressionless as he said, “Beast, I will chop off your head.”
“Really, you hate me that much?” Leon, with countless years of experience on the web, knew how to irritate effectively, “Especially when I’m so grateful to you…
Your treasury was so rich, I’ve never seen so much money and gemstones.
Thanks to you, I became wealthy overnight.”
Hearing Leon’s words, the Efreeti’s entire face twisted in rage.
Leon laughed heartily and turned to look at the Salamanders standing beside the Efreeti, asking, “Are you sure you want to stand by his side, and not alongside the victor?”
None of the Salamanders spoke.
At this moment, the Efreeti finally felt like he was gaining back some ground.
Pointing at the Salamanders, he laughed loudly, “They are my slaves, and they will be slaves for life.
I torment them, and they could never accept anyone else as their master other than me.”
“Killing you won’t work either?” Leon asked seriously.
“You can’t kill me.” The Efreeti awaited the Red Dragon, looking quite mad, “You couldn’t kill me last time, and you can’t this time.
You’ll never be able to…
As long as I’m alive, you’ll never have peace.”
“Yes, I can’t kill you.” Leon’s tail waved slightly, “I admit you’re quick to run.”
“Wait and see if you’re still so tough.” The Efreeti’s mouth twisted into a sneer, raising its scimitar and pointing at Leon, “Attack.”
The moment the Efreeti’s words fell, beams of light, arrows, and spears flew towards Leon from the adventurers, mercenaries, and rebelling Salamanders…
Leon keenly noticed that some Salamanders did not throw their spears at him, and the Efreeti, after chanting a Spell, became gigantic; it plunged its scimitar into the ground and drew a long spear from its back.
Of course, Leon wouldn’t let his enemies attack him freely.
He dodged most of the attacks nimbly, and the few that hit him were trivial.
After regaining his stance, he stood up, summoned his sword, caught the Flying Sword, and slashed at the long spear thrown by the Efreeti, sending it flying.
The Efreeti waved its hand, and the long spear Leon had sent flying immediately returned to its grasp.
It looked like that spear was a Magic Weapon, a returning weapon that could automatically fly back to its owner’s hand…
Clearly, the Efreeti had come fully prepared for this day.
As the Efreeti readied to throw the spear again, suddenly, a blinding bolt of lightning struck it from above.
Though it had a strong body that could withstand the blow, the Efreeti looked up and from nowhere, a beauty in a black dress appeared atop the deserted mountain peak, who then transformed into a massive Blue Dragon.
“You didn’t forget there are two of us, did you?” Leon laughed.
“We didn’t greet you last time, you might not remember me.” Tassera had only watched as a bystander in the previous battle, initially intending to see the teenage Red Dragon struggle, but unexpectedly, he easily defeated the Efreeti.

“Of course, I remember there are two Dragons.” The Fire Giant laughed loudly, “I will always remember you two, a couple of dogs.”
“Come out then.” The Efreeti shouted towards the skies.
With a roar, a Brass Dragon soared into the sky, circled above, and then landed on the mountain top.
“You don’t think I came unprepared, that I’m alone, do you?” The Efreeti laughed heartily.
“You, where did you find a Brass Dragon?” Leon feigned shock.
Tassera glanced at Leon, could not help but curl her lip, her expression rather poor.
Was he trying too hard to be obvious for the Efreeti to see?
Leon glanced at the Blue Dragon, nodded slightly, and decisively spread his wings and flew away.
Seeing Leon fly off, Tassera promptly followed.
“You won’t get away.” The Efreeti bellowed, its body bursting into flames.
Its lower half turned into a swirling mass of ash and embers.
Lifting its scimitar, it gave chase before taking off and turned towards the Brass Dragon, “You tackle that Red Dragon; I’ll deal with the Blue Dragon.”
The Efreeti, pursuing the Blue Dragon, arrived atop a mountain and said, “Why not run?
Do you think you can face me?
What exactly are you anticipating?”
After speaking, the Efreeti turned to look, only to see the Red Dragon had circled around and landed behind him.
Turning again, the Brass Dragon, ignoring the Red Dragon, landed to his side…
The Efreeti was momentarily stunned, then quickly realized what was happening.
“Hmph, you wouldn’t think I’d be afraid of three Dragons, would you?” The Efreeti laughed wildly, raising its hand as if preparing some earth-shattering move.
The Efreeti was chanting a Spell…
Otherworldly Transmission ready, three, two, one.
Tassera was also chanting, aiming the Dimension Anchor.
