Taming The Hidden Bigshot By Kissing Him-Chapter 633: I Want to Try a Cohabitation Marriage with Zhong Yi
Chapter 633: Chapter 633: I Want to Try a Cohabitation Marriage with Zhong Yi
"Who is it?!"
Huo Sijiao struggled angrily, "Are you crazy? It’s me!"
"Oh, it’s you. I thought you were a thief. Perfect timing to test out these two moves of Capture Technique Old Chen taught me. Turns out, they actually work pretty well." Sun Weimeng released his grip, crossed his arms over his chest, and looked at her.
"Huo Sijiao, staying out all night? You went to the Guan Family to deliver gifts, so why did it take you until almost sunrise to come back?"
He had a face full of gossip and curiosity.
Huo Sijiao glared at him annoyedly, "Why are you up late catching thieves? With the security level of our villa, do you really think there’d be burglars? If there’s nothing going on, go wash up and sleep."
"Don’t be like that."
Sun Weimeng pushed open her door and turned on the light. Making himself at home, he sat on the sofa and said, "Come on in and talk to me. Chatting in the hallway will wake people up."
Huo Sijiao stomped her foot and shut the door, sitting down across from him, her face showing a trace of anger.
Sun Weimeng asked, "What happened between you and Shen Xuanzhi that made you get home so late? And... why do you smell like alcohol? Drowning your sorrows?"
He leaned in closer to sniff again, "Wait a minute, why do you have Xie Xubai’s sandalwood scent on you?"
"Are you a bloodhound?"
Huo Sijiao frowned at him, "You can even smell that?"
"New flame, old love, seamlessly connected?" Sun Weimeng looked at her in shock. "Huo Sijiao, you’ve got quite the skill. Didn’t expect you to move on so quickly? The best cure for heartbreak is jumping into a new relationship."
"Don’t talk nonsense."
Huo Sijiao slumped softly into the couch, looking utterly dejected.
"Sun Weimeng, Shen Xuanzhi told me he’s marrying Guan Jingtan and asked me not to interfere. Told me not to be the third party in his marriage!"
Sun Weimeng was outraged: "That’s just too much!"
Huo Sijiao agreed wholeheartedly, "You think so too, don’t you?"
"Absolutely!" Sun Weimeng raised his voice, "Why does he get to marry Guan Jingtan? Just because of his face? I seriously don’t know what Miss Guan sees in him! If Shen Xuanzhi can be a live-in son-in-law, then I, Sun Weimeng, wouldn’t mind either! A feud over a wife is irreconcilable!"
"Huh?"
Huo Sijiao frowned at him, "Sun Weimeng, what are you even talking about? Shen Xuanzhi is far more than..."
"Huo Sijiao, are we still besties or not? In your eyes, Shen Xuanzhi is better than me? Our friendship has been eaten by a dog!"
"You’re the one who doesn’t measure up!"
"Hmph, you’re no match for Guan Jingtan either! No wonder Shen Xuanzhi chose Guan Jingtan over you!"
"Are you trying to hit my sore spot? If I don’t deal with you today, you’ll really think I’m a pushover." Huo Sijiao grabbed a couch pillow and hurled it at Sun Weimeng.
Sun Weimeng wasn’t about to back down either, joining the pillow fight.
"Huo Sijiao, fight to the death!"
"Come on! Do you think I’m afraid of you, you overfed chicken?"
The two started tossing pillows back and forth in the room, even throwing the blanket to the side.
Feathers flew everywhere!
...
The next day.
When Qiao Xi woke up, Huo Xingzhou had already left.
Old Chen was waiting in the living room. When he saw her coming downstairs, he said, "Young Madam, today is your last visit to the Zhong Family."
Previously, Old Mister Huang had agreed to teach Lu Yingxue the art of health-preserving acupuncture, and now she had mastered it. Old Mister Huang had fulfilled his promise to the Zhong Family’s patriarch and wouldn’t need to stay there any longer.
"Hmm, the snow outside is so thick."
Qiao Xi gazed at the snowy landscape with wonder, "Haicheng has never seen snow this heavy before."
"Indeed, but the main roads have been cleared, so travel isn’t an issue." Old Chen lowered his voice and said, "The eldest lady and Young Master Sun haven’t woken up yet. Last night, I heard the commotion—they seemed to have quarreled for a long time."
"Then let’s not disturb them. Let’s head out."
"Alright."
Old Chen grabbed the car keys and headed outside.
Qiao Xi thought for a moment, then took two bottles of medicinal wine from the liquor cabinet to give to Old Mister Huang. The wines were brewed by Grandpa Cheng himself, made from herbs dug out from her old home’s courtyard.
She’d usually save them for herself, letting Old Chen and the others drink her homemade alternatives instead.
The next time she saw Grandpa Cheng, she’d definitely have him brew more, bury it for years, and savor it later.
Qiao Xi got into the car.
The vehicle slowly rolled toward the Zhong Family’s old residence.
When she saw the mansion, the name "Zhong Yi" popped into her mind. The emotions she had suppressed so deliberately last night surfaced again, and she clenched her fist tightly.
"Young Madam, we’ve arrived."
"Alright."
"The Young Master instructed me to stay by your side at all times."
Old Chen followed closely behind her as they entered.
Before they had even reached the foyer, they heard the commotion from inside the living room.
"These items are the young master’s clothes and daily necessities."
"These are the master’s books and collectibles—be careful with them."
"Also, contact the fashion brands now to deliver seasonal womenswear to the villa. Miss Lu will be moving in as well. Miss Lu, if there’s anything else you need, just let us know, and we’ll arrange it."
The butler’s voice stood out clearly.
Qiao Xi entered the opulent and vintage-style living room, where numerous suitcases lined the carpet neatly. Servants bustled back and forth moving items, their pace hurried.
And standing to the side was Lu Yingxue.
She still wore a mask. People were saying that her face had been ruined, but she hadn’t responded to any of the rumors.
She let the outsiders speculate, maintaining her composure.
"Miss Qiao has arrived."
Lu Yingxue noticed Qiao Xi, and a cold smile emerged in her eyes.
Deep down, Lu Yingxue envied Qiao Xi—envied that she had Zhong Yi’s love, envied that two men competed for her attention, envied her talent in traditional Chinese medicine and her receipt of Old Mister Huang’s Gold Needle Technique inheritance.
"The living room is a bit hectic. I still need to handle some matters. Miss Qiao, please wait for me for a bit—we can go upstairs and learn from Old Mister Huang together. It’s the final session, and I truly cherish my time learning alongside you."
Though Lu Yingxue’s words carried an air of politeness, they lacked genuine sincerity.
Qiao Xi looked at her, and from her almond-shaped eyes came a hint of coldness.
"Miss Lu, why should I wait? I’m learning Old Mister Huang’s Gold Needle Technique, while you study health-preserving acupuncture. The areas are different. I’ll go upstairs first."
With those words, Qiao Xi strode past the layers of suitcases, heading toward the indoor elevator.
But Lu Yingxue extended an arm to block her path: "Miss Qiao seems upset with me. Did I offend you in some way?"
Qiao Xi slightly turned her face toward her. "Yesterday, at the opening ceremony—thank you for adding to the occasion. Ever since Mrs. Pei left, Furong Beauty Salon’s business has been booming."
"What does Mrs. Pei have to do with me?"
"Miss Lu knows perfectly well herself. Why force someone to spell it out?"
Lu Yingxue let out a small chuckle. "It seems you really harbor misunderstanding toward me. We’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet in the future anyway. I’m going to be trying cohabitation with Ayi as a trial marriage. Our wedding home will be in your neighborhood. Miss Qiao, shouldn’t you congratulate me?"
Trial marriage cohabitation?
Qiao Xi furrowed her brows slightly.
