Tang San's Twin Sister-Chapter 111
Without her brother and her friends, even the grandmaster and his training she suddenly felt lost, a touch if weariness about the entire situation and doubts. Once again doubts.
Followed by a punch of sadness that walled up which she wenched down with tears in her eyes. Neither sadness, doubts nor tears would do her any good. Although it felt weird to be sad all of a sudden for a departure.
The last few times she departed from something, it had always been anticipation, but she didn't know this time. Hanging somewhere in between the limbo of anticipation and sadness to leave her people behind.
Forest green blurred past at blazing speed as she got into a rhythmical running pace, enjoying the air hitting her face and taking the opportunity to focus on the physical movement and not on her thoughts running rampant.
The city came into view quicker than she wanted, having hoped that the run would take longer. She slowed down eventually, step by step, already spotting the trading caravans waiting and gettign ready for departure. Taking a quick look at the clocktower, she knew she was a bit early. Tang Yin slowed down, calculating the time in her head. About thirty minutes of time enough to grab a little snack in a nearby bakery before seeking out her caravan.
She walked through the caravans heading to the bakery, on the lookout for the sigil of seven treasures. Between the present ones, she didn't spot anyone, but she guessed it was only natural if they hadn't arrived yet since she was quite a bit ahead of time. She stopped at the bakery and went in line.
It was a long line, but the lady behind the desk was quick, so she guessed it wouldn't take too much time.
"Well, I don't know why the higher-ups are making such a drama, " a man in a white robe said, walking past her. "I mean, they can't be that important."
"Apparently, they are. Now quit all the complaining. Orders are orders, " the older person said and stopped at the desk. "One of the chocolate things here and a piece of bread, please." The man ordered at the flabbergasted bakery employee, who pointed at the line right next to him.
"I am very sorry, sir, but I am serving according to the line." the woman said, and the other man made a tsk.
"Great. An Idiot, do you know who we are? " the younger man said when the older man stopped him.
"We are sorry," he said. "I didn't notice."
"It's fine." The woman smiled, and Tang Yin laughed internally. Well, I didn't notice?
It was more like we tried, but the attempt failed. If the older man hadn't seen the line, then he was blind or a complete airhead. The two men got in line.
Eventually, it was Tang Yin's turn. "One chocolate croissant, please." She ordered and put the money on the counter. "For eating straight away, no need to wrap it up."
"Coming up." The woman handed her the croissant and the change, which she returned to her wallet.
"Thank you," she said and then went outside. It was now even fuller than before. Well, all she needed to find was the caravan from the seven treasures.
"What do you mean, no chocolate cossaints left. You knew we wanted one and should have kept a hold on it." The loud man from earlier said, rousing Tang Yin's attention, who turned around to look at her croissant. Well, she hadn't bitten into it yet, and this time, the older man, also looking a bit disdainful at the woman, didn't stop the younger one.
Tang Yin felt a bit of pity for the counter lady who was trying to calm her customers.
She went back into the store. Then Yin walked up to the men. "Here, you can have mine, " she offered and stretched out the croissant. "I haven't taken a bite yet, and it is freshly bought."
He eyed her with disgust. "Who would want such used goods." he spit out, and Tang Yin shrugged her shoulders, sending an apologetic look to the woman behind her counter, who gave her a sad smile, silently thanking her for the attempt.
"Alright, then, not." She said, shrugging her shoulders. She turned around to leave when she spotted the sigil on their sleeves, it was uncannily familiar. Where they are part of her caravan? If so, it would be a long trip. She sighed. frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Damn it, just my luck; I am traveling with assholes."
"What did you say, brat? " one of the men behind her said, and she stopped in her tracks. Tang Yin put the croissant into her storage ring, showing the surroundings she was a spirit master, and turned around with a smile.
"I said, just my luck, encountering assholes." She said, and everyone made a step back, those who had seen her use spirit power just now two. "first thing in the morning."
They didn't really need to know she would be traveling with them. Not yet, anyway.
"You little brat." The man went towards her, and Tang Yin sidestepped. She lowered her point of gravity and swiped her leg beneath him at lightning speed, making him fall into the dust. The other person went for her as well. She knew the same trick was not going to work twice, so she waited until the last second and then avoided by bowing to the side.
Using her fist, which she filled with spirit power, she thundered it right into one of his pressure points, making the older man wail in pain as the younger man got up behind her and attacked again. This time, she jumped and avoided him by floating over him. Planting her feet on his shoulder, she shoved him off balance with all her strength and a touch of spirit power, having him crush right into his comrade.
Doing a flip, she landed on her feet, facing the two men.
She had copied that move from one of Xiao Wu's tricks, and it was not only flashy but also provocative. From the faces of the two men, the provocative part of the action worked like a charm. They stormed at her again when suddenly a cold aura filled the bakery, making shivers run down Tang Yin's spine as she twirled around, focusing on the bigger and more imminent threat.
"Enough." A strong voice thundered, and she noted from the corner of her eye that the two men stopped in their tracks and suddenly put themselves in position. She focused her gaze now entirely on the man in front of her. He was of undefinable age, white-haired, pale-skinned, with clear blue eyes, and clad in white and greenish-blue.
"May I know the young lady's name?" he asked, and she positioned herself, focusing all her attention on him.
"I am Tang Yin." She introduced herself. "Of Tang Sect."
"I am Chen Xin." He introduced himself. "It is my honor to meet you."
