Tang San's Twin Sister-Chapter 74
Fatty's eyes gleamed in delight as he saw the menu card, and Dai Mubai sighed. "Fatty, you order first and pay your own...you eat the most."
"Hey, I thought you paid. Your stipend is the largest. After all, you are rich." Fatty objected heavily. But nevertheless continued studying the card in front of him, bothered by the fact he had to pay on his own. "Also I am ordering for all of us."
"Alright but only since Today is a welcoming day for the newbies," Dai Mubai gave in, giving Ma Hongjun a long look. Fatty shrugged his shoulders, then called over the waiter, working of his list of over dishes for them at lightning speed before closing the menu in a smooth movement and grinning at them.
"Well, well, they have quite a selection here of local specialties. If the taste is up to par, this will be a feast, " he said proudly, and Mubai noted wryly.
"If he wasn't a spirit master, he would be a cook."
Despite all of them sitting together, silence spread as they formed small groups, making it anything but a harmonious get-together. Rong Rong remained silent and completely ignored the others, while Zhu Zhuquing was completely expressionless and ramrod straight as she glared every odd moment at a flinching Dai Mubai. Only Fatty kept chatting, with Tang Yin joining in as the two kept the mood amicable and from growing rigid. At some point, their food arrived, and while Fatty and Tang Yin kept on making Jokes, Oscar and Xiao Wu eventually joined in, the mood slowly loosened ocassionally a word from the the more silent members of the group were added.
Behind them, another group, a touch smaller but of similar composition, walked in. The leader was a handsome white bearded man in his forties, followed by six young men and a woman, clothed in spirit master robes. All of them carried a sigil on their shoulders, announcing Blue Sunshine.
One immediately noted that they were all spirit masters, while the Tang Twins and their group all wore whatever they wanted, appearing as normal commoners rather than spirit masters.
The restaurant waiter jumped forward and couldn't be courteous enough as he served them while bowing repeatedly. The owner most likely relied on Spirit Masters and the Spirit Forest to make a living. Not only were spirit masters highly respected, but they were also wealthy. freeweɓnøvel.com
"Damn, she isn't bad," Fatty said, his eyes firmly on the young woman among the newly arrived. Yin agreed that his eyes were blazing from the Evil Fire inside him. She really wasn't bad-looking, a lot more mature than they were too. Rong Rong, Zhu Zhuquing , Xiao Wu, Her, and Feng were much younger. While certainly pretty, especially Feng, who stood taller then most and slender like bamboo, they were still children, so it didn't come as a surprise that Fatty considered the already grown teenager a lot better looking than the rest.
Dai Mubai meanwhile snorted. "Blue Sunshine Academy, a low-ranking Academy, has your Taste deteriorated that much?" he asked Fatty.
Since none of them bothered keeping their voices down and spirit masters generally had better hearing than others, the group glared at them, anger burning high. Oscar leaned back and grinned at the others. "Wait up, we're going to get a nice show, " he said while the others looked at him, puzzled. "Dean's regulations state that a spirit master who does not cause trouble is lacking as a spirit master."
The other group settled down, about two tables between them, when the bearded leader muttered something into the ears of a younger member, one of the boys. He stood up and then walked straight to Dai Mubai. Tang Yin raised both eyebrows.
Did they feel insulted because they were called a low-level academy and not because their female comrade was insulted by Fatty? She would have gone for him straight away, not Dai Mubai.
Dai Mubai didn't even consider him important enough to look at him. When a waiter arrived with another order of theirs. The young man bumped fully into the waiter, who let out a startled cry of alarm as the food flew towards Dai Mubai.
"Don't waste food."
Tang San gently stabilized the waiter while Tang Yin caught the Dish and prevented the catastrophe from happening. Bowing down, she sniffed at the Fish. "Oh, that smells nice, " she said cheerily and put it on the table. Tang San quickly pulled the waiter aside meanwhile. The young man from Blue Sunshine observed their quick actions as Tang Yin settled back down and shoveled some of the potatoes that came with the Fish on her plate.
"I am truly sorry, " the young man said with plenty irony, not even bothering to hide his hostility. Then he walked past Tang San and tried to swipe a leg of Dai Mubai's chair. That was the time Dai Mubai reacted.
Did Tigers have a nice temper? No, they did not, and thanks to all the anger he bottled up due to Zhu Zhuquing, Dai Mubai would never let the opportunity to blow off a bit of steam pass.
