Noah POV

I had been halfway to Central Europe for the monthly Cash Call meeting held in the sky by the Lycans of the Regions when my Gamma Steve leaned in my ears and whispered.

"The security details attached to Miss Olivia just paged a red alarm to us. Attempts to reach them have proved abortive,".

The Long Island drink in my hand slipped from it and clattered to the ground as I jumped to my feet, feeling panic in every part of me. I’ve never felt that way before, not even when I had to watch my parents die. But with Olivia, it was different.

I knew I was hopelessly in love with her, and this trip to the Greyhound Pack had left me feeling uneasy. A year ago, I had been digging into Olivia, who had stayed in our pack after being rescued by our team in a forest with her children. She has stayed with us since then.

And despite our best efforts and resources, we failed to find anything on her. It seemed she had appeared from nowhere and existed.

One day, after returning from a business trip, I had wanted to take a stroll around the garden when I saw a moon mage. As a Lycan Werewolf who practised and worshipped the moon goddess, a Moon Mage can only be seen if there was a direct message from the moon goddess herself.

In those days, I had been making plans to ask Olivia out and make her Luna of my pack, so I had been a bit startled when I saw the Moon Mage sitting quietly under the Elderberry tree. Its back was turned to me, but I recognized it as the Moon Mage from the halo that was shining around it.

Without hesitating, I knelt and laid face flat a little distance before it.

"Rise, King Noah," the Mage scoffed, turning to me. "You should pay obeisance to the goddess and not me,".

"But it is necessary to acknowledge a messenger from the moon," I said defiantly. "Please accept my greeting and I will rise,".

"Accepted," the Mage said after a pause.

I rose to my feet and stared at the beautiful form in front of me. All Moon Mages had no form. So, it was difficult to tell if they were male or female. They just existed.

"I see two blue-eyed wolves in your clan and a great priestess of the Moon goddess," the mage started "Since you have accepted them as one of you, it’s only normal for the universe to look kindly at you,".

"Two blue-eyed wolves and a priestess?" my eyes widened in surprise. "I’m afraid there’s nothing like that in my pack,".

The mage scoffed and twirled its fingers as blue flame swooshed in the air and formed a screen. On the screen, I saw Olivia cradling her two children. Immediately, the vision vanished.

"Wait! It’s Olivia?" I asked.

"Yes," the mage nodded. "She has the fate of the Dark Moon and is destined to be hated and bound to her mate forever,".

My heart began to pound nervously. There was only one person I knew who had the fate of the Dark Moon and it was my cousin, Xavier, Alpha to the Greyhound pack. My eyes widened in realization as I turned to look at the Moon Mage, who nodded.

"Yes, that woman is your cousin’s long-lost mate. He’s currently mute now because of the potential of the sacrifice she made before she left, but I’m not going to bore you with details, Noah. If there’s any way to make sure that both of them do not come together as mates, you should do it,".

My mouth went dry.

"Xavier would never forgive me if he discovers that his wife has been holed in our pack for years now talk more of when I marry her,"

"But, your majesty," my Beta Reid came to me, "You cannot do that. All the kings are waiting for you. If you’re so worried about how we’ll send the strongest of our men and have them go and bring her back,".

"No," I shook my head. "The meeting can wait. Turn the jet around.

Now standing in front of her, fighting the urge to pin her to the wall and ask her why she had Xavier’s scent all over her, I couldn’t do anything. Maeve was glaring at me as if she would attack me at any moment.

Among the twins, she never really warmed up to me. Squatting in front of her, I gave her a wide grin.

"What’s wrong dear? Did I offend you? Tell me and I promise to make amends,".

"We’re not going back with you to Moon Whispers. This is...".

Before she could complete the words, Olivia came to where she was and clamped down on her mouth, giving me an anxious look.

"I apologize, your majesty. The girls are not in a good mood today," she explained.

"It’s fine," I nodded. "Just get your things packed, we’ll leave shortly," I turned to leave.

"I’m sorry, Noah," her voice stopped me when I got to the door "But we can’t leave with you now,".

I tried to calm the angry tremors coursing through my veins as I turned to Reid and Steve outside the room.

"Can you take the girls with you? I want to talk to Olivia,".

They nodded and scooped the girls up. Satisfied that we were finally alone, I returned to her and grabbed her jaw, jerking her face towards me.

"If you were so hungry for a man, why didn’t you tell me?" I said bitterly and removed my hands from her jaw. "I can’t even look at you right now. Pack your things and let’s leave." I turned to leave when she grabbed the lapel of my coat.

"I’m sorry, Noah, but I cannot. It doesn’t matter the number of people you leave after me, there would be no change. The presence of the twins brings blessings and I’m sorry I didn’t tell you all this while. I was just trying to protect the girls from being exploited. So please, let us stay a day or two,".

The revelation didn’t shock me, but I was more concerned about getting the truth out of her. Walking back to where she stood, I grabbed her hands.

"There’s something else, isn’t it? You want him to fuck you again? You liked it the first time,".

"No," tears sprung from her eyes, "Xavier is the father of my kids...".

There, she finally said it.
