Dagger, who just watched his comrades leave, turned around as he watched Alan, strangely enough, touching the bodies.

Dagger: "What are you doing, 33?"

Alan did not answer the confused agent, but he simply flipped the man's body, laying him on his stomach, exposing the back of his neck.

In his line of sight, Dagger watched Alan materializing a single small dark dagger as if he was intending to mutilate the dead man's body.

Just as Alan raised his hand in the air, Dagger stopped it.

Dagger: "I understand how you feel, but this is not the way we do things. It will not bring you any kind of relief."

Alan: "This is not what I'm after. There's something weird with these two, with this whole thing. Just imagine an operation that could target this many cities, with one being one of the 108 households of humanity. Yet it was simply left to these two idiots. Everything about this is not right.

Plus, I feel something weird at the back of their necks, so let's open it and see."

Daggers expression changed as he also thought so; completely leaving the fate of this massive terror attack in the hands of these two incompetent lunatics was actually very weird and sloppy. Alan's remark alerted him as he released Alan's hand.

Slowly, Alan used the dagger to slice through the few layers of skin at the back of the man's neck.

Just as he was about to complete the cut.

A grayish light moved so fast, targeting Alan's face.

Even though he already knew about it, he did not expect to be attacked immediately at such a high speed, leaving him with no room to react at all.

Right from behind him, like a hawk's claw, a hand grabs the flashing grayish light.

Alan: "Thanks, Dagger."

No answer came as Dagger was shocked by what was in his hand.

A gray-looking insect that was as tall as a finger wiggling inside his hand, trying to penetrate the suit as if its whole purpose was to parasite another living organism.

Dagger: "This… this is, I've seen this before."

Even though earlier he received information about the parasitic insect. He pretended to be ignorant as he asked.

Alan: "What is this!?"

Dagger: "Something that didn't exist in nature, we have found it in many cases before spanning over 500 years ago. It is a parasitic insect that is capable of controlling living organisms remotely.

It has the code name puppeteer insect, a single mother insect that gives birth to many offspring insects. The contractor of the mother insect can implant the offspring insects in other living beings, controlling them from vast distances, like drones shaping their whole new reality as the controller desires. Some of the records that I have read explained that this was an attempt to increase the number of contracted beasts by utilizing a curvature approach.

Contracting a single mother insect can allow one to contract or, to be more precise, to control many living organisms, but it was found that it can parasitize anything, and as long as the level of strength of the parasitic organism does not exceed the level of the mother insect by a single level, then controlling will be successful.

Including in the living organisms is humans, of course, but the research was scrapped because of ethical dilemmas.

Sadly, the result of the research plus a few specimens were stolen a few hundred years ago, and from that point, we have seen the presence of such a terrifying insect in multiple cases."

Alan: "These two were controlled; I could hardly believe that."

Dagger: "Don't underestimate the vast, terrifying abilities of such an insect. It can change the perspective of the host, altering the whole psyche. If they believe that they are on a holy mission, then that is their reality; let's check the woman too."

The same gray insect was found latched on the woman's spine at the back of her neck.

Alan: "They were puppets, nothing more. But it is still sloppy to leave such a vital part of the attack in the hands of two mindless puppets."

Dagger couldn't agree more, as he secured the two insects inside a special glass bottle.

Alan: "Do you have access to the Central AI?"

Dagger: "Yes, I do. Why?"

Alan: "First, confirm their identities immediately."

Dagger snapped a few shots of the faces of both the man and woman as he input the photos, asking the AI for an identification of the two individuals.

Less than 30 seconds later, the results were out.

Dagger: "The woman's name is Eileen Carter, resident of the Southern Helica town.

The man's name is Damian Petrov, a resident of the South Northern Norstia town; both of them lived far from each other and led completely different lives."

Alan: "Activate the voice command."

Truth to be told, he did not see where this was going, but Dagger chose to follow this remarkable young man.

Operating the terminal in his hand, then pointing it towards Alan's.

Alan: "Scan all public footage for the last sighting of both individuals. Not together previously researched, display the footage."

Usually in such cases a follow-up investigation will be conducted to verify all the facts and compile a complete file about the incident, but this one was very strange, so Dagger chose to humor Alan as he was slightly curious and wanted to know. What is this youngster looking for?

The first footage projected in front of them was from a convenience store. It showed Eileen Carter buying groceries and daily necessities. The footage continued until a sudden blackout.

The second footage shows Damian walking right in front of a cafe. The footage was taken from the building opposite to the cafe.

The footage continued until a sudden blackout also happened.

Dagger: "The footage record suddenly went dark; they were fished from their normal lives to play the mule in this terror attack."

Alan: "F***."

Truthfully, the sudden outburst slightly shocked Dagger, as he had the impression of the quiet type for this teenager in front of him, never imagining him to be so emotional.

Alan: "Play both footages again!"

Dagger: "Again."

Alan raised his hand indicating he needed silence.

Alan: "Stop the first footage, and now the second footage. Tell me what you see, Dagger!?"

Completely oblivious to what was going on, Dagger focused on the frozen image in front of him as he took a close look at both of them. Suddenly, his right hand shook as he turned pale-faced, asking Alan.

Dagger: " WHY THE HELL AM I SEEING THE GIRL IN BOTH VIDEOS!!?"

Alan/Dagger: "LOTUS!!"

With both their words synced, Dagger exploded like a bullet, leaving the room. Alan, as fast as he could, tried to follow, but he could not even see Dagger's back in a split second.

Releasing his void God talent to the maximum as he covered the whole ship searching for the specific location of Lotus, it didn't take long for him to locate her as he moved like a sparrow cutting through the wind. The people he passed by only felt a breeze of wind suddenly blowing past them.

A small room halfway to the Med-Bay with an open door was lotus current location.

As soon as he saw the wide-open door, Alan entered the small room with both daggers in his hand, but he only found Agent Daggar holding Lotus, who had a hole in her stomach, bleeding all over the floor.

Alan: "Huh, huh, is she!?"

Dagger: "No, she's still alive, but not for long in this condition!!"

Alan: "I will carry her to Med-Bay, but we need to move. You need to call Mantis right now. The blue package is the key. The little girl was the messenger all along."

Gently princess-carrying Lotus, Alan started running towards Med-Bay; behind him, Dagger was trying to contact Mantis, who had only left them a few minutes ago.

The line connected.

Dagger: "Mantis!!"

Mantis: "Team leader, why didn't you tell me that you want me to send the little girl home? Isn't that a Lotus job, throwing the girl our way without even showing her face? She's clearly forgetting seniority."

Dagger: "No mantis listens to me. The little girl that is with you is the enemy; she is the true carrier; she attacked and almost killed Lotus. Be careful."

At the edge of the ship, The shocked Mantis turned his head to look at the innocent girl behind him with his hand slowly reaching for his weapon, but with a creepy smile on the girl's face as she vanished from his line of view, appearing right beside him, penetrated the lower left side of his stomach with her small hand.

Mantis: "Ahhhhhhhhh."

On the other side of the call, Dagger listened to the agonizing scream full of pain coming from his loyal subordinate.

His face darkened as he knew where the girl was now; he decided to head there.

Dagger: "The target is on the front deck of the ship; take care of Lotus; I will go to capture that devil."

....

On the edge of the front deck, a small girl with an innocent smile on her face, covered in blood, was holding the blue box, standing right in the middle of what could be called a bloodbath with three bodies scattered all around her.

"Your organization is really the best of the best. I would have never thought that my cover would be blown as fast as it happened, but you all are so delicious. If I didn't have an appointment to catch up to, I would definitely have a feast."
