The Abusive Novel System Pleads with Me to Resign-Chapter 113
Zhong Chen was immediately displeased by Xing Jiale's remark.
Xing Jiale had initially felt relieved that this idiot at least had some semblance of pride. Even if his actions were shamelessly submissive, as long as there was still a shred of dignity in his heart, there might still be hope for redemption.
But the next second, Zhong Chen declared, "How dare those two homewreckers call themselves the 'main wives'?"
"Which one of them earned their status legitimately? One of them doesn’t even have a proper standing. Are they even fit to be mentioned in the same breath as me?"
"Next time you say something like that, drop the 'plural.'"
Xing Jiale pointed a trembling finger at Zhong Chen. "You—you fucking—"
Xiao Yun wasn’t about to back down either: "I don’t know where an ex’s ex gets the confidence to claim ownership. Out of everyone here, you’re the one with the least connection to her."
Gong Zhaoxi chimed in with smug assurance: "You two are both relics of the past. No point in bickering over who’s worse."
"I’m the only one she hasn’t conquered yet. As long as I remain unattainable, she’ll keep thinking about me. I’m her future—the core figure entrusted to Jiale."
Xing Jiale stared at the three of them and suddenly felt that transferring to Class C might not be such a bad idea after all.
At least when Shen Ying annoyed people, she wasn’t like these three idiots—just looking at them felt like it shaved years off his life.
So when the weekend came, Xing Jiale actually went along with Shen Ying to attend Xia Meng’s friend gathering.
The moment they arrived, it was clear that Xia Meng’s so-called "friends" were four strikingly handsome men, all dressed to impress.
Xing Jiale had previously investigated Xia Meng alongside Gong Zhaoxi due to the hotel photo incident and had seen the lineup of candidates Xia Meng had prepared to seduce Shen Ying back then.
Each one was an exceptionally good-looking guy, making them hard to forget.
Xing Jiale would bet anything that the three men here today were from that very batch—they looked familiar.
He leaned in and hissed at Shen Ying through gritted teeth, "Your friend sure has a wide social circle. She’s still keeping in touch with all these guys?"
Shen Ying nodded, thoroughly pleased with the selection of men before her, and sighed. "Yeah, she actually wanted to delete their contacts at one point."
"But I convinced her not to. Getting rid of men like these would be a crime against womanhood."
This woman truly didn’t care about his presence as a watchdog at all.
After introductions, the six of them took their seats. The three men across from them were also quite satisfied with their blind-date partners.
Xia Meng, of course, was a given—after years of meticulous self-cultivation, she was undeniably a stunning beauty.
Shen Ying wasn’t bad-looking either. Plus, since she wasn’t actually a high schooler, she carried herself with sophistication, taste, and wealth, making her impossible to ignore.
The only oddity was that the two women had brought along a man—one who was exceptionally handsome and, worse, not on their side.
The three men couldn’t help but see Xing Jiale as an obstacle, and a hint of hostility crept into their gazes.
One of them, a buzz-cut guy in a biker jacket, looked at Shen Ying and asked, "Is this your boyfriend?"
The biker guy smirked. "That’s what I thought. Who brings their boyfriend to a mixer?"
Shen Ying replied, "He’s my ex-boyfriends’ best friend."
That single sentence contained so much information that the three men were momentarily stunned.
Another guy, with silver-dyed hair, finally managed to ask, "Then why did this guy tag along—"
Before he could finish, Xia Meng cut in. "Why does it matter? The point is to have fun, right? He’s just here to hang out with us."
Then she added suggestively, "My friend here is incredibly generous and loves helping people."
"Two guys who spent time with her ended up with great careers afterward."
"She’s got the vision and the means. Instead of focusing on a man, why not put your energy into impressing her?"
The three men knew Xia Meng came from a wealthy family. If Shen Ying earned such high praise from her, it meant her background and resources surpassed even Xia Meng’s.
That realization made them look at Shen Ying with even more fervor.
Xing Jiale, listening to Xia Meng’s words, felt something was off—but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
Still, he couldn’t be bothered to interfere. He stayed silent the entire time, fading into the background, which eventually made the other three men lower their guard.
Shen Ying was never stingy when it came to entertaining attractive men. After treating everyone to a meal, the group headed to an upscale club.
They booked a spacious, private VIP room, ordered an extravagant spread of drinks and snacks, and the real festivities began.
First, the three men took turns singing to warm up the atmosphere. All of them had decent voices, but the silver-haired guy stood out—apparently, he was the lead singer of an underground band.
Despite never receiving formal training, his natural vocal control and distinctive tone made it seem like talent had been handed to him on a silver platter.
Shen Ying could easily imagine how electrifying his stage presence must be.
She couldn’t help but marvel, "How do you even find gems like this?"
Xia Meng nodded. "He’s good. If that mixed-race guy hadn’t worked out back then, this one was next in line."
Xing Jiale muttered, "I can’t tell if you two are being genuine or just messing around."
Once the mood peaked, someone suggested playing King’s Game.
The men’s intentions were obvious—they wanted to create some flirtatious interactions through the game.
Shen Ying was all for it. She spun an empty liquor bottle, and with her precise control, she could manipulate the game however she pleased.
The bottle spun and landed on the guy with slightly curly hair.
As the "king," Shen Ying commanded, "Go dance. No matter what happens, don’t stop until the song ends."
The men weren’t fazed by the request—if anything, they were eager to show off in front of the women.
Xia Meng knowingly picked a sultry, rhythmic track, and the curly-haired guy adjusted his moves accordingly, oozing charisma with every step.
Xing Jiale watched a man gyrating in front of him and sighed, staring at the ceiling in despair.
Why was he subjected to this? All of this was payback for those three idiots’ nonsense.
Suddenly, he heard the pop of a champagne cork.
The spray hit the curly-haired guy, who paused for a split second before grinning and unbuttoning his shirt, slicking back his hair, and dancing even more provocatively.
Xing Jiale saw where this was headed—if he didn’t step in, this idiot would probably start begging Shen Ying to stuff cash down his pants.
So he bolted up, marched over, and shoved the guy into a corner. "Enough with the stripping! Put your damn clothes back on!"
Unlike Xia Meng’s usual picks of shy, innocent types, this guy was fully in his element. Instead of stopping, he tried to drag Xing Jiale into the act, even tearing open a few of his buttons.
Finally fed up, Xing Jiale grabbed an ice bucket and dumped it over him.
The shock of cold water snapped the guy out of it—his performance was well and truly over.
Xing Jiale glared at Shen Ying and snapped, "What's your problem? Here to ruin the fun—"
Before he could finish, he noticed that Shen Ying's shirt was also soaked through from the champagne and ice water during their scuffle, the top three buttons undone, leaving the fabric clinging messily to his frame.
The dampness on the surface of his hair made Xing Jiale deeply uncomfortable.
Irritated, he roughly tousled his hair, wiping away the golden droplets that had gathered at his chin. His movements were fluid yet impatient, his eyes smoldering with annoyance.
The effortless, unconscious allure he exuded made the others seem downright mediocre in comparison.
"Damn, so he's here to crash the party."
"I knew it was shady for an ex's friend to tag along. Turns out he's here to steal the girl."
Xing Jiale was still stewing in the discomfort of his sticky, damp clothes when those idiots' words sent him into a rage.
He was about to explode but held back. He had to remind himself—no matter what, he wouldn’t lose his temper over Shen Ying.
What did these three morons matter? Their opinions weren’t worth a second thought.
Silently, he returned to his seat and hissed at Shen Ying through gritted teeth, "Know your limits."
Shen Ying shrugged, utterly unfazed. "I'm just having fun. You're the one insisting on sticking around, making things awkward for both of us."
"Why don’t you just leave? If we agree on the same story, you get to relax, and I get to enjoy myself without interference."
Under normal circumstances, Xing Jiale would’ve jumped at the chance. But seeing Shen Ying’s eager expression—practically shooing him away so he wouldn’t "get in the way"—made his feet feel nailed to the ground.
Xing Jiale let out a cold laugh. "Oh, I’m not going anywhere. Let’s see what kind of show you put on tonight."
Shen Ying ignored him. The second round of the game began, and when the bottle stopped spinning, Shen Ying was once again the "king."
He pointed to a bundle of rope a server had brought over, then gestured at the hooks on the ceiling. "Tie him up and hang him."
The silver-haired guy, who had been indifferent until now, looked uneasy. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Other dares were one thing, but being bound and suspended mid-air? That was downright humiliating.
Just as he was about to refuse, Xia Meng suddenly spoke up. "You’re into motorcycles, right?"
"I remember you saying you were saving up for a Kawasaki H2R. How much more do you need?"
Silver-haired guy sighed. "Still a long way off."
Xia Meng smirked. "If my girl’s happy, a measly few hundred grand for a bike is nothing."
The guy immediately abandoned his dignity for his dream machine, even enlisting his friends to help.
"Make the knots neat, okay? A decorative harness would be perfect—distributes the weight evenly and looks elegant. Girls appreciate aesthetics. If you two mess this up, I swear—"
Xing Jiale was stunned. He thought he’d steeled himself to remain indifferent, but now he shot up like he’d been burned.
Finally, he understood the indescribable vibe Xia Meng had been giving off earlier.
What kind of "student" was she? She was practically Shen Ying’s personal pimp!
He rushed forward, shoving aside the two guys tying the knots and grabbing the half-finished harness around the silver-haired guy’s chest.
With his dream bike on the line, the guy wasn’t about to let anyone ruin it. He scowled. "What’s your deal? Can’t handle being a backup, so you’re cockblocking now?"
Xing Jiale snarled, "Who the hell are you calling a backup?"
"If you’re not a backup, why are you clinging around like a third wheel? If you’re not a backup, why do you look like you’ve been stabbed every time she plays with someone else?"
"She doesn’t even care if you watch—that’s how little you matter. Face it, you’re never getting out of the friend zone, backup!"
Xing Jiale was fuming. Thanks to these idiots, he’d been branded with this ridiculous label, and now he couldn’t shake it.
Done arguing, he turned to Shen Ying. "You’ve got two choices: leave with me now, or I call Zhong Chen and the others over."
"I don’t care if they make a scene. I’m done playing along."
Shen Ying smirked. "No. You either stay quiet or leave on your own—and cover for me so they don’t come ruin my fun."
Xing Jiale laughed incredulously. "Why the hell would I lie for you?"
Shen Ying pulled out his phone, displaying a photo.
In it, Xing Jiale’s shirt was drenched, his collar wide open, his left hand raking through his damp hair.
His cheeks were flushed, lips slightly parted, as if he’d just exhaled a warm breath.
This was how he’d looked after stopping the curly-haired guy from getting handsy—flushed and breathless from the exertion.
But in the photo, it looked… indecent. Like he was caught in the throes of passion.
Xing Jiale frowned. "What’s this? Some embarrassing shot? You think I care about this when you’ve got pics of yourself checking into hotels with guys?"
He even nodded approvingly. "Not bad, though. I look good."
But Shen Ying’s next words sent a chill down his spine.
"If you don’t cooperate, I’m sending this to your three buddies."
"With a caption about how you ‘accidentally’ got wet just to seduce me."
