The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 1039: IN ANOTHER LIFE
Chapter 1039: IN ANOTHER LIFE
==========================
Cane’s POV.
==========================
’I hope we can meet sooner, so we can stay longer and be in love for the rest of our lives. It has to be a long life to make up what we have lost.’
That dream came again...
There was this girl with blue eyes and curly auburn hair that smiled at him. She would kiss the tip of his nose and told him to wait for her.
Every time this dream came, he would feel this longing feeling. As if, he had been waiting for her and believed what she said. He couldn’t help, but looking forward to the day he finally met with her.
He remembered her voice and her scent, down to the way she touched him. It was surreal. His dream felt very real.
Cane would always wake up with this sadness and longing in his heart. He would stare at the ceiling for a very long time. He felt so old, even though he was only twenty one years old, as if he had gone through a whole lifetime.
He didn’t know why he felt this way, especially when it came to that woman with blue eyes.
"Spacing out again?" his little brother chuckled when he saw his brother was sitting behind the wheel and didn’t even realize he had entered the car, while his twin sister sat on the backseat. "We will be late."
Cane said nothing and started the engine. He had to take his twin siblings to their school, before he drove to his university.
Their parents were away for two weeks, thus he was responsible for these two brats, who kept giving him a headache.
"Be good at school." Cane ruffled his little brother’s hair and he growled. "Stop growling at me, you are not a wolf."
Meanwhile, his little sister was a sweet child, she kissed Cane’s cheek and went out of the car to catch up with her twin.
Cane waved his hand and drove away after he made sure his siblings entered the school building.
In the parking lot, Cane got a message from his friend, telling him that he was going to be late if he didn’t come now, since their lecturer moved their class.
Cane said nothing and pocketed his phone again. He was already here, there was no way he was going to be late. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
But, he was completely wrong, because there was something that caught his attention.
Even from young age, he was always very mature. His parents had never had a problem to raise him, they even joked that Cane raised himself, since he was a perfect child.
Cane had never caused trouble even in his teenage years, where all of his peers would be in one or two problems. He was also a good brother and example for his sibling.
Therefore, how could he skip his class to chase after a glimpse of a woman?
This was an important class for him, since there would be an exam in this particular subject, but then it still didn’t stop him from chasing after her shadow.
He didn’t know why, but there was something inside him that told him to go and find her.
Cane was running at the corridor, ignoring people, who greeted her and the women, who tried to strike a conversation with him.
After all, he was very popular, no matter where he was. There was something in him that drew people to get close to him.
However, after he looked around the buildings for an hour and his phone kept buzzing, as his friends kept texting him, asking about his whereabouts, he still couldn’t find her.
"Have you seen an auburn girl walked here?" out of his frustration, he asked a random guy there, but it was the girl nearby, who replied to him.
"Oh, do you mean Luna?" She asked.
"Luna?"
"You don’t know her name?" She was surprised, but Cane wanted to see this girl right away.
"Where is she?"
"I will take you to her." The girl was more than willing to help Cane, if it meant she got a few minutes to talk and walk by his side.
"There! That’s Luna, may I know why..." The woman’s face turned sour when she saw Cane immediately approached her.
Cane could feel his heart was beating, as he approached the girl with auburn hair, she had her back against him, thus he couldn’t see her face.
And without a second thought, he grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.
At first, the woman wanted to curse, but when she saw it was Cane, she blushed instead. She looked shy and tried to appear sweet. She sheepishly stared at him.
However, those eyes were not the exact eyes that he was looking for. He didn’t know why there was this strong disappointment that washed over his body, as he walked away, distraught.
Yet, only a few step away, there was this familiar voice that he kept hearing in his dream.
"Found you!"

Iris’s POV.
==========================
Iris knew that she should do it. She could feel her son’s pain and how in agony he was. His beast was in a great anguish for what had happened in his life.
However, by doing this, it came with a great cost.
’Let’s do it.’
That was what Cane said. Their son needed him and there was only one way to help him, which was by turning back time.
But in order to do that, they had to use the air magic stone within Cane, which had been a life force for him all these years, keeping him sane enough and alive.
Iris was torn between her precious son and her beloved mate, but Cane reassured her that everything would be fine.
He had stayed for so long, he had survived those years and it was time for him to let it go. It was time for Iris to let it go.
’I hope we can meet sooner, so we can stay longer and be in love for the rest of our lives. It has to be a long life to make up what we have lost.’
That was what Cane said, as he kissed the tip of her nose and gave up the air magic stone within him for Iris to help their son to make things right for him.
Once the magic stone was extracted from him, his body faded away. It was akin to dust and the wind carried him away.
In the end of the day, they were parent and their children would come first.
With the air magic stone in her hand, Iris did the unthinkable, something that was forbidden, something that she shouldn’t do even when she had the power to.
But for her son, Zenith, she was willing to do everything.
Using all of her divine power, she turned back time, in order for Zenith to be able to correct his mistake and do something differently.
’I love you, my son.’
Iris hugged Zenith for the last time before she disappeared. Her existence disappeared, so did Cane.
Everything felt so warm and Iris was finally at peace. Her life flashed before her eyes. From the first kissed that she shared with him, the night that they spent together, the grieves and the happy memories, every moment engulfed her with warmth.
And when Iris opened her eyes again, she was in different life. It was another life entirely, where everything was so different from the life that she lived with Cane.
Iris was not sure whether the life she had before was really a life, or it was only a vivid dream.
However, she found herself looked around her, taking small notes to all the men that she met, not because she was interested in them, but she felt like... she was looking for him.
She felt like she was going crazy for chasing after her dream.
Until one day. On the first day of her college life, she saw him and once it happened, everything fell into the right place. All the missing pieces finally returned to its place.
And to her surprised, that man was looking for her as well. He made a cute mistake, where someone guided her to the wrong girl. The disappointment on his face was palpable and somehow, Iris felt bad for that girl.
Yet, she couldn’t hide any longer.
She wanted to start this new Chapter of her life right away with him.
"Found you!"
Iris surprised him. She chuckled when Cane turned around and widened his eyes in shocked. He couldn’t speak for a moment and only stood there, dumbstruck, thus Iris took the initiative to approach him.
"Why are you surprised? Didn’t you make me promise to find you whenever we are being separated? I am good at finding people, right?" Iris giggled.
And suddenly, Cane hugged her. He buried his face against the crook of her neck, he couldn’t care less what people said about this scene. He found her. No. She found him.
"I am sorry for taking so long to find you," Iris said, as she hugged him back, but hissed when Cane nibbled on her earlobe. "Stop doing that."
Seriously, he kept doing this...
Iris pushed him slightly away from her before she cupped his face and bit his lips. "Don’t bite me!"
Both of them laughed, as they remembered this.
This was what happened when Iris kissed Cane for the first time and they did it again. But, in a sense, this was indeed their first kiss in this lifetime.
Seeing this, everyone cheered and gasped, it caused a commotion and one of the lecturers caught them kissing in public. Of course, they got scolded, but it was so light compared to what they had gone through.
"What are you two doing?!" The old lecturer stomped his feet to rush toward the two lovebirds. The youngsters this day didn’t have any sense of appropriacy! "Hey! Come back here! Tell me which class are you in!?"
However, Cane already took Iris’s hand and both of them ran away.
"Don’t you want to shift?" Iris teased him, she missed riding on his back in his beast form, but Cane chuckled and opened the car door for her.
"Unfortunately, I am only a normal human." He put his hand over her head when she entered the car. "But, I can drive."
"I am also only an ordinary girl."
Cane knelt down in front of her and kissed the tip of her nose. "You have never been ordinary for me. You are always exceptional, Iris."
In this lifetime, they would start again properly...
