The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 113
Chapter 113: Chapter 113
"Alexis." Keelion let go of Lorcan and walked around. He heard her voice, he could swear it. He could feel her. She was in this place. "ALEXIS!!"
There was no response even after seconds and by now, Keelion was beginning to panic. He hurried back to Lorcan.
"Lorcan, where is she? W-where is my mate?"
Lorcan shook his head at him. "Keelion, Alexis is not here—"
"No, you’re lying. I can smell her fucking scent. I can feel her in this place. Where the fuck is she? Where are you hiding her?" He snatched the man by the collar of his shirt. "Where is my mate? Give her back to me. I need her... Please. Just give her back to me, I’m begging you."
Lorcan stared at him with a sort of glint he’d never held in his eyes that were rather frightening compared to those blue of his. He averted his gaze and breathed out.
Maybe this was a bit harder than he’d thought it would be—because why was he feeling so hurt for his own brother for the first time in so many years? Keelion had never given him a reason to feel this hurt for him.
Grabbing his hand gently, he blinked and cleared his throat. His tone was gentle, "Kee, Alexis isn’t...with me. I-I didn’t take her from you."
"Why are you doing this, Lorcan? Some stupid grudge, is that it?" Keelion questioned.
Lorcan shook his head. "I’ve never held a grudge against you. That was a fair fight in every sense. You hurt me and I hurt you back. Besides, we were kids."
"Lorcan—"
"You can’t physically be away from her and the thought that she might have left you is leaving you in this frenzied state. But Kee, I don’t have Alexis. Your feelings are messing with you, it’s making you think I have her because, in your head, I’m the only plausible person that could take her. Her scent isn’t in this place, it’s just your mind playing a trick on you."
"Look." He breathed. "I know that I came to your gala for no reason, but that was merely because I wanted to. No reason at all. I know you think I want your mate just because I danced with her, but actually no. Alexis isn’t my type, I did what I did because I like messing with you. We fought, but we are close, so you should understand that messing with you in any way possible is what I’ve always liked to do since we were kids."
Keelion stared at him. Was his mind really playing tricks on him? Was he going insane, is that it?
Had he begun to hallucinate? He knew very well that these situations could even cause a mere standard alpha to kill themselves. How much more for a supreme alpha like him?
Maybe these were signs.
Oh fuck, he was losing his mind. He’d already gone half crazy.
Was he eventually going to lose it completely? Would he kill himself? Wait, was anything even real anymore? Her scent, her voice, were they all in his head?
Was Alexis even real?
"Lorcan, have I gone crazy? S-she...was she even real or was it all in my head? D-do you think that I’m—"
"Keelion!"
Lorcan snapped at him.
Shit! He’d only meant to gaslight him out of this. He never meant to make him think he was crazy. Goddess!
He snatched Keelion by the back of his hair and pressed his forehead into his, holding eye contact with him. "Look at me, Keelion, Alexis is real. You are not crazy. She is real, she is your mate and you love her. These are only happening to you right now because of the separation, but I promise you, you’ll be fine, so calm down, okay?"
He’d never felt his heart pounding in his chest in so much worry. The last thing he wanted was being the one to ruin his own younger brother. No way was he going to make him lose his mind.
His hand at Keelion’s hair pulled the man in for a hug, patting his back and Keelion just accepted it, as if he was completely exhausted. He couldn’t make up a proper thought in his head anymore.
"It’s okay. Y-you’re okay, Kee. Everything will be fine. This will pass. I think...it will."
MEANWHILE....
Augustus was trying as hard as he could to hold Alexis back. She was trying to force her way out of the place, thrashing against him, her face a teary mess.
"Let go of me."
The man glanced at Keona. "What do we do? Is there a way to put her to sleep?"
"In this state?" Keona asked. "W-what if she drifts off completely from there?"
"Well then, what do we do?" Augustus was a panicked mess at this point.
Kaelis walked over to Alexis and gently cupped her cheek, forcing her to look at him. "Alexis, look at me." His voice was pleading. "You need to calm down. You want to go to Keelion, right? You want to see him, do you not?"
The question seemed to have soothed her and she nodded her head at him, sobbing. "It hurts."
"I know it hurts." Kaelis glanced at Augustus, signaling him to let go of her. "That is why we will take you back to him, okay?"
Alexis didn’t believe him. The doubt was in her eyes. Even in this crazed state, she was no longer willing to believe them.
"We will, Alexis. We just need you to calm down. The more you’re this hysterical, the more you’re in pain. So, can you calm down?"
She peered at him. "I want—" Every word she had to say was drained out of her as she suddenly dropped to her knees and coughed frantically in excruciating pain.
"What’s happening to her?" Amora asked and rushed over to her. "Alexis, Alexis, what’s going on? Are you okay? Talk to me!"
Alexis met her eyes and slowly shook her head. Her eyes were heavy lidded as if she was near falling unconscious and she kept coughing, hand clutching her chest.
