The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 118
Chapter 118: Chapter 118
Amora breathed out.
"My sister and I, we saw...the vision," she said. "A vision of you, things that could happen, and how we could save you. What happened that night at the gala, we saw it coming, so my sister and I had met Augustus earlier on, a week before it to speak to him. We needed his help if we were going to help you, so that’s why he’s involved. We needed one more person since three of us wouldn’t be enough and Kaelis was good enough. He cares for you, he’s your friend and he’s someone who will never betray you, so..."
Alexis stared at her.
She continued, "If you had stayed with Keelion after he chose you like that in front of hundreds of his people, you would have been assassinated."
"What?"
"Yes." She nodded. "Althea would have successfully killed you. That is why we had to take you away even though we knew how much it was going to hurt both you and Keelion. If you had died, Keelion would not have been able to survive the pain. He would have died along with you too, so what was the point? Wasn’t it better to keep you alive, fix you, and return you to him when you are capable of standing by him without fearing for your life, with no one ever calling you an outcast?"
Alexis could see it—her point. But it still hurts. She asked, "What did you mean by ’fix me?"
Amora crossed gazes with Keona and this time, Koena was the one to explain, "You are not an outcast. It’s just that you have a problem."
"A...problem?"
She nodded. "Your wolf is a dominant wolf, a very powerful one, and um...the problem is that your body as a dominant omega is too weak to accommodate her."
"So it’s my fault...?" Alexis asked. "It’s my fault that my wolf was suffering?"
Koena shook her head at her. "No, it’s not your fault. You were unaware that you were weak. So we need to fix you, build you until you can merge with your wolf. You don’t want to imagine the wonders when you do, so you have to. We have to help you."
Alexis gripped tighter on her spoon.
"Sereia hasn’t spoken to me in weeks now. Is she...dead?"
"Your wolf?"
She nodded. "She’s not dead...is she?"
"No." Keona shook her head. "She’s in recuperation. She’ll talk to you eventually, just give her time."
Amora chirped in. "What do you think? Will you willingly stay and let us help you? You have to forget about Keelion for now and focus on yourself. You will eventually go back to him, that’s a promise, so please..."
"And what if..." Alexis breathed shakily. "What if by the time I return, he’d choose someone else...over me? What if he replaces me?"
Both women glanced at each other. Augustus frowned. "Keelion would never do that, he loves you." He glanced at the two. "Right? He wouldn’t do that, right?"
Amora and Keona couldn’t answer. "It’s not him, a-and it’s not the way you think—"
"So he is going to?" Alexis spat out. "No! No, no, no, absolutely not. I’m not staying! I’d rather die." She rattled the chair back and stood up, storming her way out of the room.
Keona however rushed after her and grabbed her arm, stopping her.
"Alexis, Keelion won’t replace you, ever. Not in his heart, that is for sure. I am a hundred percent sure about that."
Alexis blinked at her. "What do you mean by that?"
Koena breathed and let go of her arm.
"From the vision...Keelion will have a Luna, but...it won’t be you."
"W...what?"
"The thing is, he’s going to get relentlessly persuaded into it. He will wait for you, he’ll hope you’ll come back to him, but he’ll eventually give in. But it doesn’t mean that whoever he made his Luna, that he loved her. You are the one he loves, and that is never going to change."
"Who is it?" Alexis balled her hands into fists. "Who is the woman he’ll make his luna?"
Keona glanced behind her at her sister and hesitantly answered, "Althea."
"What?"
"I know, I know. But she’s never going to have him, that’s for sure. This is all part of this game, these are things you have to sacrifice and endure if you want to get what you want. She’s not going to last on that seat."
"Why?"
"Because she’s the bitch that tortured and killed your mother."
Alexis paused—the entire room went so silent that if a pen fell, the sound of it could be heard.
Lorcan furrowed his brows. "What the fuck?"
Augustus stormed towards Keona. "What do you mean by that? You never said that to me, you never—"
"She went to a witch. That’s where she found out you weren’t a beta. She found out about you and Keelion being mates, about how deep he felt for you and that made her angry. He knew you were an outcast but loved and protected you regardless. That made her very angry and she wanted to hurt you."
Keona swallowed shakily.
"She targeted your mother because she knew your mother was the one thing that could tear you down completely. Her father helped her with it, but your mother never gave in even for once, not even when handled in a way I don’t want to describe. Althea planned to kill you once you were at the very bottom and that was after the Gala. That is why we came for you." freeweɓnøvel.com
She lifted her gaze to Alexis’ shaky form and right before her eyes, she watched a tear break and stream down Alexis’s face.
"Alexis." Amora approached and grabbed her. "Don’t you see? You can’t let her get away with it. You need to stay here, let us help you. Wouldn’t you like to get revenge, to be capable of making her pay for your mother’s death? Wouldn’t you like to crush her?"
She continued, "If you went back to Keelion now, you would never be able to achieve that. Your mother’s death would have all been for nothing. Please think this through, Alexis. I know you love Keelion, but don’t make irrational decisions. You’ll have more to lose. So...are you still leaving?"
Alexis sniffled and wiped at the tears on her face. She shook her head and balled her hands into fists. "No."
"I’ll stay."
