The CEO's Lovely Wife-Chapter 291 Hide and Seek (Part1)
Chapter 291: 291 Hide and Seek (Part1)
October finally stopped at a thicket gasping for air. She was sweating so much that her hair stuck to her smooth face that was as pale as a ghost. She wiped it with her hand and sat down, totally exhausted.
’I’ve run so much. I don’t think I can run anymore without getting caught.’
After thinking that, October took a deep deep breath but she did not let her guard down. She could not even make the smallest mistake for it will cost her so much.
Silently taking shaky breaths, she slid down slowly and crawled under some bushes. All this time, her hand was on her belly as out of habit or instinct. She piqued her ears for any sounds and eyes wandering around for any strange movement around her.
October squatted in a position where it was easy to get up and bolt out running in case something happened. She began giving her aching legs a massage. She waited and waited, praying that those kidnappers would not come.
However!
A shout came.
This shout made October flinch and made her blood turn cold.
This was truly the worst outcome she never wanted. October cursed I her head.
"Hey mi~ss! Where are you~? Running won’t do you any good, you know? Ptui! Yeah, I’m sure you know that. If you come out now and go back with me, I promise I won’t let anything else happen to you." He said out loud but also thought, ’No to you at least, just the ones in your belly. Ain’t that easy?’
October held her breath and stopped moving at the same. She waited, hid, waited, and hid even more. All her actions were careful, slow, and quiet. She does not want to make any noise to alert her pursuer and just wished the man to go pass her fast, far away from where she was hiding.
As she wished that, however, the man walked closer to where she was hiding at with a gun on his hand.
October saw this and her heart dropped right there and then. Her eyes widened in alert. She was panicking, stiff, and so nervous she thought she was going to faint. Her eyes never left the pursuer’s body. She did not even dared to even blink.
"Fck! Fck! Fcking btch! If I get my hands on you, I’m really going to fcking kill you btch!" The man cursed nonstop as to let out some of his frustration. He took a sharp, loud nasal breath and stopped at the very bush October was hiding at much to her horror.
Time seemed to slow down.
Sweat trickled down their skin. The surrounding was still and quiet that only the occasional wind rustling through the trees was heard.
The man stood there, looking around, gazing with his dark and sharp eyes as if there were razor-sharp claws hidden behind his eyes clawing at the trees and shrubs. His heavy breathing was loud and out of place. He tightened his hold of his gun and started to walk at the direction opposite of where October was hiding.
It was truly a relief as soon as October saw him getting farther and farther. She looked at his back as her sweat trickled down from her smooth forehead.
’Walk away, go. Don’t look back. Walk faster and don’t come back.’ October prayed and prayed with this phrase in her heart. She was already at her limit. Her strength, her nerves, was already stretched taut.
October did not blink, not until the man’s figure disappeared in the thick forest. She uncovered her mouth and released a long sigh of relief she did not know she held. With that release, however, the nerves in her body, all of her strength, anxiety, and fear she felt, the adrenaline she had on her escape also vanished, leaving her with only an aching body and tired mind.
’Finally, he’s gone.’ She thought to herself. She was truly relieved, but she knew that she was still in danger as long as she can’t escape this forest with her kidnappers looking around for her. She must not let her guard down since she doesn’t know which directions the other men will come from.
Despite all this, all the running had totally made her so tired and now she was losing focus.
"Ugh. This is bad." October groaned in a low voice. Her eyes started to lose focus. She can’t faint now. She refused to close her blurry eyes. She has to stay awake. Be that as it may, despite all the will and effort, her eyes’ vision brightened so much it almost turned white she could not help but close her eyes and lost balance.
’No. I can’t fall down now.’ She gritted her teeth as she leaned on her arm to support her body from falling but...
"Ack!"
A scream of pain escaped her lips. Though not that loud, the surrounding was so still and quiet that it made her low hiss seemed loud, truly out of place in the silent forest.
October looked down on her hand which she leaned on during her fall and saw a broken branch with thorns. She took a sharp, shaky nasally breath. She lifter at her hand shakingly and there it was, a thorn still burrowed deep in her skin. She squinted her eyes and gritted her teeth with a nose turning pink. In one go, she pulled the thorn stuck on her palm and a sting was felt followed by her blood bleeding out of the open wound dropping on the dirt.
’It hurts.’ October pursed her lips before closing her hand into a fist and the stinging pain made her brows furrow.
It was unexpected but she was thankful for this wound since the pain woke her up. If she fainted, it would be good if those men will not find her but not if otherwise, since she irritated them. She does not know what they will actually do to her. All she knew was that it would not be pleasant.
What she feared most right now was that she let out a sound. Her eyes instantly darted to the direction in which the man disappeared to.
’Please don’t come back. You didn’t hear a sound. Don’t find me.’
The man did not come back.
October was relieved and wanted to relax, but...
*rustle* *rustle*
"Damn that btch! Where the hell did she run off to?! FCK! I will fcking fck her up so bad she’ll wish she was dead! That fcking btch!"
Followed this voice was a man walking through some thick and bushy thicket that was dreadfully right next to the ones October was hiding at. Bullets of cold sweat then formed on her forehead.
The man never stopped spouting curses as he scratched his head in annoyance. He then started kicking trees, dirt, or anything around him just to release his anger and frustration.
When the man finally came into view, October’s eyes showed a hint of dread and fear. She recognized him. This man with his face contorted into a face like that of a devil’s with eyes that screamed murder.
All hairs of October’s body stood and the beating of her heart quickened.
The man was none other than the person who attempted to assault her.
October felt so disgusted at the sight of him. She was also angry when she remembered that time when he touched her with his filthy hands. The more she thought about it, the more she felt dirty and disgusted. These feelings bubbled in her only made her want to vomit more.
October’s eyes began to water as her nose started to sour.
The situation she was currently in was much worse than earlier. She thought that she could finally relax her muscles but she was completely wrong. Just the slightest sound she’ll make might be the end of her at this moment.
’No! I need to keep myself together. I need to endure this.’ October never thought that she will ever feel so helpless and powerless in her life as she had always handled everything if not flawlessly...until now. ’Relax, relax. Everything will be fine. Yes. My darlings, you’ll help mommy, right? That’s right. You both are really well-behaved. Daddy will also find us.’
Despite saying that, the trembling of her body did not stop as tears began to escape out of the corners of her eyes.
Thinking of that cold, stout man always by her side, taking care of her, loving her, giving her endless warmth, October felt a strong longing for Lexus. She missed him. Her heart felt like it was stabbed countless times. ’How come you are the only one I can think of right now? What is he doing now? Does he know what happened to me? Is he coming? ...will he find me...?’
October wanted to be strong as she has to protect her little ones in her womb. However, her mind and body are already stretched taut that she could barely master any strength.
’No, I need to keep myself together. I need to...no, I have to endure this.’ October thought to herself while gritting her teeth as determination flashed across her face.
’Help Mommy have strength, okay?’ October thought to herself as she touched her slight bulging stomach. Her eyes squeezed but the strength she had had slowly left her and her eyes started to blur which, to her nightmare, made her lose her balance yet again. She regained it immediately but despite the small movement she had made, it was enough noise for all to hear in this silent forest.
"Kahahaha." A cackle escaped the mouth of the man. The delight in his laugh was so sinister that in sent shivers down to her spine.
It was truly terrifying.
The man slowly turned his head at the direction of the sound and locked on to the thick bush. The smile on his face widened even more. freewёbnoνel.com
Happiness and delight exploded in his chest, but October instantly went cold and stiff.
’Of all the times to lose strength, why now?!’
October’s body started shaking. She protected her stomach that had a clear bump in a protective stance while her eyes glared at the man who was laughing.
"Fou~nd you! Hm? Why aren’t you coming out? I know you’re there. No need to hide anymore, my love." The man laughed again. The thought of October’s beauty pressed under him was so excited he could not help but drool. "I guess you wanted me to get you. Cute. I like that."
At first, the man was totally pissed and angry at October but those were overshadowed by his desire for her. Who would not be enchanted by such an impeccable woman which he had never thought he would ever meet in his entire life? On top of her beauty was a unique temperament too.
"You’re the daughter of that real estate big shot, right? That Mr Park. Well anyway, you’ve been neglected all your life and now your father’s trying to kill you. Is his brain in the gutter or something? To have an excellent daughter like you is a blessing for him yet he tossed a diamond and chose a rock." The man shook his head in lament.
October furrowed her brows, ’What’s he trying to say?’
