The Devil's Good Girl-Chapter 223: It’s a party and it’s supposed to be wild
Chapter 223: It’s a party and it’s supposed to be wild
"Hey, guys!" Michael jumped inside the second-floor VIP excitedly, only to frown as soon as his eyes landed on three people. "Eh?! Where’s everyone?"
"What do you mean, everyone?" Anton cast him a languid look. "This is everyone."
"Where’s Marcus and Shanaiah?"
"Marcus, I don’t know. As for Shanaiah, I also don’t know."
Michael’s frown deepened as he advanced in their direction. When he stepped into their vicinity, he darted his eyes between Marianne and Vincent. Marianne looked up at him and smiled while Vincent maintained a grim expression. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
"Is everything okay?" Michael probed as he sat down. "Or was this party sparked some old, sinful flame, and you guys ended up arguing?"
"What do you mean ended up arguing?" Marianne chuckled. "Vincent and I are good."
"We’re just chilling, man." Anton backed up.
Michael raised his brows, waiting for Vincent’s reply, but to no avail. "Uh oh, someone’s not in the mood. Vince, do you want to feel better? I just know a way how."
"Michael, can you please shut it?" Vincent breathed out irritably. "Just as Anton said, we’re chilling here. If you want to have fun, go back outside and party with everyone."
"Alright!" Michael clapped, casting Anton and Marianne a look. "I need to know what’s going on here. And why is this guy spreading his negativity here?"
Anton shrugged. "Don’t know. I just thought it was that time of the month. So, his emotions are all over the place."
"Don’t look at me, Michael." Marianne shrugged. "It’s not me."
"And it’s not your business too," Vincent added, casting Michael a warning look. "Michael, stop."
"Fine." Michael quickly raised his hands in surrender. "Anyway, how come Marcus and Shanaiah aren’t still here? I told them it’s a party — how dare they ditch me!?"
"Just give them a call — oh, never mind!" Anton waved as he grinned at the door. "Hey, Marcus!"
His brows knitted when he saw Shanaiah walking behind Marcus. "Are you two coming in together? How? Don’t tell me you’re dating now?"
"Fat chance." Marcus clicked his tongue, jumping on the lounge seat near Anton. "You think I will date her?"
"My accounts were frozen and I can’t use anything of my parent’s property. I’m basically grounded," Shanaiah complained, taking a seat right next to Marianne. "It’s so annoying!"
"You snuck out?" Marianne giggled at her, only for Shanaiah to roll her eyes.
"They already took everything. They might as well send me to prison if they want to keep me locked in my room."
"But if someone finds out, don’t point the finger at me." Marcus leaned back with a glass in his hand, casting Shanaiah a knowing look. "If you do, you’re dead."
"I said I won’t, so I will not." Shanaiah hissed. "I’ll just blame Michael."
"What the fuck?" Michael scrunched up his nose in dismay. "Is that all I am to you, Sasha?"
Shanaiah giggled, her mood was changing just as quickly as she blinked. "Anyway, enough about that. Marcus and I aren’t dating, and even if he begs me, I won’t."
"You think I want what everyone can have even without asking?" Marcus smirked. "Well, I guess whatever makes you happy."
Shanaiah simply ignored the man as the vibe of the club already put her in a good mood. This was better than staying in her parent’s house where she felt like a prisoner. Moreover, it wasn’t like Marcus’ perception of her mattered.
"Great!" Michael clapped excitedly, grinning from ear to ear. "Now, everyone’s here!"
"Everyone?" Marianne arched a brow. "Weren’t you expecting another person?"
"I did, but she told me she might not make it."
"Oh."
"So —"
"Who are you talking about?" Shanaiah inquired out of plain curiosity.
"Fil," Anton answered for Michael. "Michael invited her."
"What?! She’s back?!" Shanaiah perked up. "When?"
Anton’s answer was a mere shrug since he only heard about this from Marianne today. Shanaiah tugged Marianne’s arm, earning a smile from the latter.
"Fil is coming?" Vincent asked, eyes on Michael. "And you didn’t tell us?"
"Why... would I need to tell you about the guest list?" Michael cocked his head to the side. "It’s not like there’s a problem between the two of you. At least, the last time I saw you together, you seemed okay!"
"You were together with her?" Marcus inquired, shifting his attention to Vincent. The latter furrowed his brows at Marcus’s interest. But before he could answer, Michael giddily answered for him.
"They met in my place." Michael grinned from ear to ear. "Oh, right? I’m dating Fil."
This time, everyone’s attention shifted back to him. Their eyes bore a uniformed disgust.
"What?" Michael gasped. "Don’t you guys believe me!?"
"Michael, what are you on right now?" Anton sassed. "I get it that you think Fil is hot, but come on, man."
"What’s wrong with me?" Michael frowned. "I’m handsome, tall, has a nice body, and my experience makes me better than any of you guys."
"That’s the point." Vincent laughed for the first time since hearing Fil was seeing another man. "Your body count is enough to make her run away from you like you’re the plague."
"Exactly." Anton nodded.
Michael’s frown deepened, resting his hands on his hips. "I can’t believe you. Are you really my friends?"
"We are, Mike. But next time, make up a more believable story," Marianne humored. "Fil will never date you just because of the fact, you’re... you."
"Fine. We’re not!" Michael clicked his tongue in defeat. "I thought it’s a nice material to see the shock looks on your faces."
"Enter priesthood and we might get shocked," Anton commented. "So, Fil’s not gonna make it?"
"That’s what she told me." The smile on Michael’s face returned, giving Marianne and Vincent a teasing look. "So, you two don’t need to hold back. No one’s gonna catch you red-handed!"
Marianne scoffed at Michael while Vincent didn’t have any reaction to it. Even so, despite knowing it was Michael’s indecent way to tease them, the two of them found themselves casting each other a look. Marianne bit her tongue as she slowly took a sip, keeping her eyes on him while Vincent did the same.
"Anyway, since it’s a party, this mood isn’t right!" Michael jumped away and skipped his steps to the door. Holding the door handle, he looked at the group with a bright grin. "I don’t need the decent adults tonight. Tonight’s a party and it is supposed to be wild. It’s a night we can do whatever the hell we want."
The second those words rolled out of Michael’s tongue, he opened the door wide. As soon as he did, some of the crowd from downstairs seemed to have been waiting for this door to open as they rushed inside to spread their high energy.
