The Evolution of Genius: Every Night, I Get Smarter!-Chapter 115: Sight and Progress
Chapter 115: Sight and Progress
Another day passed. During that time, my father remained at the hospital, unwavering in his support.
Meanwhile, I went to the apartment in Chicago with Kaya and Mike, and I took charge of making dinner for everyone. We spent some quality time together, watching a movie and engaging in light-hearted banter.
As we shared the evening, Mike took a moment to call his girlfriend.
Curious, I asked if Hana was still his girlfriend, and he nodded, confirming they were still together.
They seemed to be getting along quite well.
The following day, we drove back to the hospital, spending the morning and late afternoon waiting anxiously.
During this time, I focused on learning the finishing touches to the 5th Layer of Quantum Physics.
During the last month, I had another session with Scholar Emanuel.
He explained that the connection between the Synaptic Luminescence and the size of the blue comet was measured and there was a clear correlation.
I probed further, asking what would happen if someone had multiple blue comets instead of one massive-sized comet in their dream.
Scholar Emanuel replied without hesitation, stating that there would be no difference—it would be akin to parallel computation, still heightening intelligence.
In the evening, my dad came out of the room where my mom was sleeping and told us, "Come in. Mom woke up."
We jumped up and hurried into the room, where our mother was weakly lying on the bed.
I approached her, asking, "Mom, how is it? Can you speak?"
She answered quietly, "Yes... It’s okay," her eyes still closed.
We sat there in the room for the next 10 minutes or so.
At some point, my mother mustered the strength to sit up on the bed, and then, with a profound moment, she opened her eyes.
She had a small, calm smile on her face, along with a tear. It was a sad and happy look at the same time.
Father walked up to her, hugged her, and asked, "How are things? What do you see?"
Mother, her voice full of emotion, whispered, "I can see colors..." and broke down in tears of happiness.
Curious and hopeful, I asked, "What about shapes? Can you see some shapes?"
Mom turned her head towards me, her eyes still glistening with tears, and smiled, "I can... Barely, but I think I see a darker color to your left."
I followed her gaze, realizing that Mike was sitting there in dark black clothes.
Looking back at my mother, I confirmed, "Yes. That’s Mike. He’s wearing a dark hoodie."
There were both tears and laughter in the room. Our mother’s sight was recovering.
...
Later that evening, Mr. Reymond, now the CEO of Dreamland NET, my company, called me. freёnovelkiss.com
I appreciated his swift and capable work, prompting my decision to appoint him as CEO.
"Max?"
"Yes? What is it?"
"I was thinking about hiring Ph.D.s or Professors for the University in Boston, but I’m not sure where to begin."
"Well... it’s going to be difficult to hire Professors who already have their positions at another university. We can invite them as guests, though. It will be much more important to invite Assistant Professors from other universities and people who have their Ph.D. and have been working in their field. I can guarantee you they will be better teachers than the Professors."
"Alright. I will try and arrange that."
...
A month later, I sat at a Florida restaurant, waiting for a certain someone—Elon Musk, to be precise.
It was the scheduled day for our meeting with SpaceZ.
He strolled in a minute later, looking casual but sharp. Elon wore a simple yet stylish outfit as he entered the restaurant.
We have arranged beforehand to come in casual clothes.
Elon Musk approached the table where I was seated, extending his hand for a friendly shake. We exchanged casual pleasantries, keeping the atmosphere easygoing.
As he took his seat on the opposite side of the table, Elon grabbed a menu.
He opened the conversation by asking, "I’ve heard that the technology you’re working on is close to completion."
I responded, "Yes, the nanomotors are completed, and we’re in the final days of construction. We plan to begin testing within a week, at the latest."
Elon Musk nodded, expressing confidence. "I see. If the professor is so sure about the project, then I believe it will work."
Grateful for his confidence, I replied, "Thank you. So... what are your thoughts on the design I sent over?"
I wanted SpaceZ to have some time to analyze it before our meeting today. That’s why I sent the full design their way last week.
Elon Musk replied, "We’ve analyzed the design, and there are a few things we think could be changed, especially with the Fusion stages. However, the last stage is what intrigued us."
He continued, "We’re even considering adding a similar stage to our existing projects. That’s why we’ve decided we’d like to initiate a buy for the first two S-Harmonies. Was that what you called them?"
I nodded. "Yes. They are String Harmonies or S-Harmonies."
Elon Musk remarked, "Well... If it truly works, this will revolutionize everything."
Just as he said this, the waiter approached us with an appetizer.
Elon Musk leaned in, asking, "Can you explain in more detail how exactly the S-Harmonies are going to work in practice?"
I began, "Of course. It’s going to be a black box with a source of energy placed in the center of it. The source will be made of a few atoms of a superconductor, entangled with atoms inside of a similar black box at a different point in the universe. Then, the energy will flow out of the atoms and into a cable, a mix of copper and silver, extending to the outside of the box."
Elon Musk asked, "And the energy that we will use will be provided by connecting cables and powering the other box that will stay on Earth, right?"
I responded, "Yes. However, it doesn’t necessarily need to be on Earth. The idea is that you could even exchange energy between rockets or create a power station on another planet to deliver the energy."
Elon Musk, putting his fingers to his temple, remarked, "The more I think about it, the more I understand how big this is." He shook his head, adding, "There will be no need to transport energy between planets; we can power things remotely."
I agreed, saying, "Exactly."
Finally, Elon Musk stated, "I can tell you right now, that if it works... you will quickly become the richest person alive."
I replied, "Well, that depends on what price I will put on it. I don’t care about money."
We enjoyed our dinner, discussing business as we delved deeper into the details.
SpaceZ confirmed their commitment to receiving the first two batches, a total of four S-Harmonies.
The agreed-upon price was set at 80 million dollars. This cost, of course, reflected the reality that new technology often comes with a higher price tag than established one.
As we concluded our discussions, Elon Musk and I stood up from the table, preparing to part ways.
Elon extended a hand and said, "It was a pleasure, Max. I really hope this technology works."
I shook his hand and replied, "Thank you, Elon. Let’s make history together."
Elon nodded, "Absolutely. Looking forward to it. Best of luck."
"Thank you," I said, "Safe travels, Elon."
I left the restaurant and quickly made my way back home, I entered an Observer and arrived at the University of Excellence near Boston.
Construction was still underway, but plans were taking shape, and hiring had commenced.
Thanks to the successful fusion plant producing 400 TWh of energy, the USA and Norway had purchased rights to the technology.
With these developments, I found myself a multi-billionaire.
Determined to utilize the wealth wisely, I allocated multiple billions to initiate the building of the universities.
I purchased the necessary machinery and technology for students’ use.
On this particular day, many individuals were invited for a talk. Primarily, Ph.D. researchers who had passed our tests were present, along with a few professors who had abandoned their positions as Assistant Professors.
The University wasn’t ready to take in students just yet, but with six months left until the next school year, we aimed to open on time.
I stepped inside the modern-style building, it wasn’t the typical old-fashioned university architecture, this University didn’t have a history yet.
I embraced the notion that the history of this institution was just beginning.
People walked around, and upon seeing me, they offered a slight bow.
Entering one of the fully built-out halls, I found it full.
There were both people looking for work and those who had decided to become our Guest Professors.
I climbed up onto the gray stage, which was a few centimeters above the ground. I faced a big desk with buttons on it that controlled the board behind me.
While looking at the crowd, I pressed a green button with a microphone on it. This made sure that my voice would be heard clearly throughout the hall.
Greeting everyone with a smile, I said, "Welcome to the University of Excellence."
