The Extra's Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!-Chapter 175: [The one at the peak is lonely!]
"So tell me more about this Vampire King of yours, Navia. What kind of person is he? Is he like a tyrant type? Or perhaps a dictator of sorts?" I asked as I wondered what kind of person this Vampire King would be.
Given he is a King, there are high chances that he might have all sorts of pride. But then, the factor of 'Vampire', could deviate given each world has their own set of rules with their races and all.
Even though they are all vampires, I can see the differences between the ones here and the ones I found in the Twin worlds.
"Nothing like that. He is a kind and humble being, who has simply lost interest in anything that this world has left to offer," she spoke, making me observe her with slight curiosity.
"Being an immortal, he had lived through ages and dabbled in everything he has ever seen or known, he was able to master it over a period of time. His majesty told us that he wasn't talented in anything, but with time on his side, he was able to reach a stance of perfection in anything he took up," Navia's smile, which was slowly blooming, paused a bit as she continued,
"But as time passed, the number of things he could do became limited. Things that used to excite him, slowly became boring… monotonous. It had been ages since he found anything new, or a person that could challenge him, make things exciting for him."
Navia seemed sad as she looked at the sky above. Her eyes seemed melancholic, as if she were recalling a distant memory.
'Well. Immortality is more of a curse than a blessing after all,' I recalled the discussion I had with my team once based on the same topic. It was a rather fun discussion, though in the end we had to run away and change our hideout given our trader betrayed us and leaked the hideout's information.
Bittersweet memories.
"So what is he up to now?" I asked as I reached back to present, making her look at me and ponder a bit before she answered,
"Nothing important. Just checking up on his kingdom and all."
"Hmmm. Tell me about the ghoul king then. Do you know what kind of person he is?" I asked, to which she was confused for a moment before she seemed to have realised something and spoke,
"You must mean the leader of the ghouls? There are no kings among those rotten flesh beings after all. Just a bunch of lunatics that seemed to be trying something one after another."
There was a distasteful expression on her face, nonetheless she continued speaking,
"You see there are factions among the ghouls. About a dozen of them, with each of them led by a stronger ghoul. They are called the Ghoul Leaders. There is also a 'Boss' of ghouls that leads all those Leaders but honestly, nobody knows where he is or what he is doing. Just that he is really powerful and stuff."
She seemed to be rather angry as she said the word 'powerful' but then she just shook her head and added,
"Though personally. I believe it's just a rumour spread by the ghouls to keep the other races in check. Cause if there were a person so strong, at the very least, His Majesty might have known about him."
"I guess, so? Not that it matters much to me. I was just a bit curious so I asked," I spoke as I observed Elliot through my space and a certain question popped up in my mind,
"Why did you guys target Elliot?"
"Elliot? Oh! That half-ghoul girl? Well… that might need a bit more time to explain. But let me try to summarise the main points," she then raised her index finger before continuing,
"We aren't exactly immortals but we have a very… and I mean, extremely long lifespan. I am about 700 years old, while one of my elder sisters, the first half-vampire, is more than 3000 years old. So, while it's not forever, at the very least your Highness can have a long lasting family. Honestly, there are no conditions attached to being in our family, so in a way it was a good choice for her."
I narrowed my eyes at her to which she grew a bit alarmed before speaking,
"Ah! Don't misunderstand. The fact that we were forcing her to join wasn't what our majesty ordered us to. We were simply guides but… you know, with Velma, there is a sort of rivalry and all so to get the lord's favour…"

Her voice trailed off in the end to which I sighed before asking," and? What are the other points?"
"Huh? Ah! The other points," coming out of her sheepish behaviour, she then returned back to normal formal look and then raised her index and middle finger,
"She is going to die very soon. Half vampire don't live long enough you know? So in a way it was our way of protecting her. Though, in the end, it would be her choice to take the immortality or not. We can't force that."
"The curse?" I asked and she nodded,
"Well, we do call it a curse but honestly it's just incompatibility between her human half and ghoul half. The human half isn't strong enough to fight off the ghoul half, and after sometime, she would become something akin to a ghoul that's closer to a monster than what is not."
Piqued my interest a bit but well, there were order to things.
She then paused for a few seconds before looking at Elliot once again. A certain sad expression appeared on her face before she looked at me and raised three of her fingers,
"It is probably the most complex and most important reason out of the three, so I can't just explain it in a few lines. But the last reason we were going to take her with us is…"
She paused for a few seconds. Hesitated a bit. And then continued with a sigh,
"… that, a pure half ghoul's blood is strong enough to destroy an entire continent."
