The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 104: They’ll be here a while
Chapter 104: They’ll be here a while
"Oh, Violet my darling, oh I’m so excited to be a great grandmother to a little girl." Lilith came rushing in to greet Violet. Practically tackling her on the bed, Violet just laughed sweetly.
"What about Viktoria? She’s your granddaughter." Violet asked teasingly.
"Oh, she’s a spoiled brat and looks nothing like me and just like her father. Who looks like his father. She’s a reminder of how all men are the same. Asher if you fuck this up, so help me I’ll put you where I put Riley." She stated casually but gave him a glare that could have put a hole right through him.
"He treats me very well, Lilith thank you." Violet said.
"Well, if he ever does you wrong, I’ll punish him." Lilith’s eyes still haven’t left Ash, who just stood uncomfortably, shifting between his feet.
"Okay, I sure will." Violet looked over to Ash and winked.
"Jeez, grandmother, tell me you don’t love me without telling me you don’t love me." Ash scoffed rolling his eyes.
"I love you, just not as much as I love her." Lilith grabbed Violet’s cheeks and kissed her forehead.
"Wow... I can feel the love in between the animosity and annoyed feelings you seem to have." Ash teased.
"Ash, she wants to have girl time with me. Would you mind?" Violet pouted. She was never one to use a pout face, so Ash was absolutely not prepared for how adorable his Violet looked with a pouty lip.
"How can I say no to a face like that. I’ll be back with snacks, I have some things to tend to in regard to the fight from earlier, and the new assistant James has been blowing me up since yesterday after you were taken." He said giving her a kiss deep kiss, she melted in an instant. He pulled away and kissed her tummy over the blanket. He didn’t want anyone seeing her naked now.
Pausing at the door he turned around and looked Violet right in the eyes with indifference on his face and said "Don’t ever do that pout again, I’ll die, be good. I love you."
"I love you, Ash." She looked at him like he was the only thing in the world that mattered. He brought so much love into her heart; it was almost unbearable how heavy her felt being so filled with love when she looks at him.
Ash shut the door behind him. He could leave her safely with his grandmother. He dared someone try anything with her around, she’d eat them. He smiled at the idea of her biting into one of the wolves.
He had a flash back of what he saw last night. His grandmother was truly the mother of demons. Her death toll last night was higher than anyone else’s, he was sure. He remembered seeing her step on the body of a wolf, bite down and rip its torso in half and devouring his entire upper body before leaving the rest of him behind. He remembers how she bit one wolf by its tail and locked on, waving the wolf in the air, slamming it on to the ground. He remembers how his grandmother blew fire so bright it was almost purple. The sizzle and crackle of the burning buildings. Not to mention the atrocious smell of burnt human lingered in his nose. He was a savage that night too, but his body count wasn’t high. His grandmother probably ate half of them and burned the other half.
Shaking himself from the memory. He took a look at his watch in was almost 6p. It would be dark soon, he’d have to check on the injured and see how they’re recovering, wounds caused shifters always took longer and required a lot of blood to heal from. Ash felt better knowing the wolves that bit them would feel those effects from it. He really felt like a genius for that idea. Jeremy liking it only confirmed it.
Pulling out his phone and saw all 86 missed called. 68 from Karen and 20 from James.
He was in a good mood and didn’t want it spoiled by Karen. So, he dialed James.
"Boss. Karen is on a rampage, has been since you disappeared, and she refuses to do any shoots or recordings until she talks to you. Please boss, the executives don’t know what to do and they’re losing it." James told Ash frantically.
"First of all, calm down. Second of all, I’m getting married so she’s going to be even worse, you’ll to be ready for damage control. Third, I don’t answer to her, and if I’m not working, I don’t want to be disturbed because some high maintenance star wants a conversation with me." I was firm and direct; I wasn’t going to let any woman that’s not Violet order me around or have expectations.
"Let her know you spoke with me, and I will call her when I have time, to stop throwing a tantrum or I’ll never work with her again, I will not produce any of her music and I’ll terminate the contract. I don’t have any time for children who aren’t mine. Hanle James or quit and get someone else to handle it." Ash said curtly.
"Understood Boss, it will be handled." James said over the receiver.
Ash hung up the phone, it was dusk, he decided he’d go out and check on the injured and see the total death count and handle the next steps.
Ash walked up the stairs and knocked on Violet’s door.
"Come in." She answered.
"I’m leaving to check on the injured. And grab food, call me if there’s a problem and when I’m on my way back I’ll call and get your food order." He said.
"No, I am coming with you. If I’m going to be queen, I will need to earn my peoples trust and respect." Violet answered firmly.
"That’s not really how vampire politics work." He answered "It’s the strongest that rule and earn respect here."
"Then me coming there after an attack still pregnant, does that not so strength?" Violet asked defending her claim.
Ash chuckled "Where did all this sass come from; you’ve never been one to back down." frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"Because now I have power and ability, I’m feel braver, and with you and our daughter, I’ve found the strength to stand up for myself." She had no intention of staying; she was coming one way or another. "Either you take me, or I’ll ask grandmother to take me." She raised an eyebrow giving him a smirk, challenging him.
Ash looked to Lilith, and she just shrugged tilting her head to the side.
’This sly little fox.’ Ash said to himself.
"I heard that," she frowned in teasing manner.
"Fine we can drive there together however you stay close to me." Ash insisted.
"Okay!" Violet said excitedly, clapping her hands.
She quickly tried to get out bed, she then realized she was still completely naked.
"I’ll take my leave so you can get read, this was wonderful. I’ve never gotten to sit down and really talk to of my children." She rose kissing Violet’s forehead again before leaving.
"Well, come on, get up." He clapping his hands while speaking.
Violet went to stand, but she found her balance a little off.
"Oof" Ash caught her and helped her balance herself.
"That was a close one." He spoke with concern "We can’t have you falling now, can we?"
"I’m not made of glass, ya know. But thank you anyways for catching me." She looked at him with nothing but love in her eyes.
The drive to the hospital wasn’t far. The Drakarys family owned it, but it was Gabriel’s pet project that turned into something bigger.
When Violet walked into the hospital, she saw so many people moving. She heard the cries of wounded vampires, and people weeping over loved ones. The sight was heart breaking; Violet could feel everything everyone was feeling. She was soon overwhelmed; she froze in the middle of the hall covering her eyes. Salty tears started streaming down cheeks.
Ash looked at Violet so concerned "Violet, what’s happening are you okay?"
"Yes, I... I just need a moment." Violet answered and started to walk away, Ash attempted to follow however Violet raised her hand stopping him "alone, please."
Ash wasn’t happy about letting her go anywhere alone right now, but he’d be right nearby waiting for her. Violet walked into a storage closet. Her breathing was fast and shallow, she was struggling to catch her breath. She just needed to slow herself down and breathe through it.
She slowed her breathing and took deep breaths. She doesn’t really know where this knowledge came from, but it was working.
She wiped her tears and took in another deep breath. Nodding "I got this" before she opened the door.
Ash pushed off the wall and walked toward her "what was that?"
"I just got overwhelmed by all the pain here, but I’m okay now, I just wasn’t really prepared, I guess. I don’t really know what I was expecting, to be honest." She paused as if she were contemplating something.
"Since they’re going to be here a while, I’d like to see each victim and their families." Violet left no room for discussion; she stood firmly with her voice.
"As you wish."
