The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 132: Odette’s 16th birthday
Chapter 132: Odette’s 16th birthday
***Sorry for the late update, I had a fancy award ceremony for my family yesterday so I was busy all day and have been playing catch up since**
***SPOILER ALERT FOR KIDNAPPED BY A RUTHLESS ALPHA***
Odette had come into her power, and she was told about her needing to hold back and keep her strength a secret, never ever let anyone know her true strength.
Her father was clear, precise, and deliberate with language he used to give his order to her.
She was a little excited for her birthday gala this year because she could show off the fact she obtained her abilities. Sure, she was a little disappointed she couldn’t go all out, but she got to show a little and it was enough to make her feel like she was more and not less.
She had picked a different dress, something strong and daring. Her mother told her Kalvin might confess to her, and she wanted to make sure she looked gorgeous.
She thought he liked Delilah, so she was totally surprised to hear he chose her.
She wasn’t sure how she felt about it. About him.
She was so excited. This party. It would be different.
Violet loved seeing her daughter so excited for a party since she was a little girl. She planned everything meticulously down to the very last detailed. Her beautiful daughter was turning 16 and even though she was scared out of her wits with the prophecy looming and the binding fading. She would pour all that fear and anxiety into the happiness of her little girl growing up and have the time of her life at her 16th birthday.
They even got Billie Eilish to perform tonight. After all, she was a vampire, a pureblood herself. Like Viktoria. She was looking forward to performing for her Queen and King. Especially the rarely seen vampire princess. In fact, Billie wouldn’t miss the performance for anything. It was the gig of a lifetime.
The event was expected to be bigger than any other before, witches and wizards, even the Fae and some demons. This would be a spectacle to remember.
They had garlands black painted carnations and baby’s breath. Vases on every table with Blood red roses. The tablecloth was adorned with black and silver vines.
A beautiful banquet hall with pillars of black roses and red carnations with white lilies.
The food spread was vast and diverse. Different cakes and cookies, among other treats, fruits and veggies, cute tea sandwiches, decorated drinks. Everything matched. Odette was also getting her first car Violet and Ash spent hours picking looking at different cars.
When night finally came, and the castle opened up to the night air. The aromas from different perfumes and the foods should have overwhelmed Odette, but surprisingly, it didn’t.
Violet noticed how good the party was doing and how much fun it looked like her daughter was having so she pulled Ash aside "Let’s go get her gift ready while she’s distracted."
"Good idea." He nodded in agreement they grabbed hands and snuck off to the garage on the other side of the palace.
The minute they left, everything went south.
No one noticed a group of girls sneaking in, the sinister smile they all had approaching Odette.
No one noticed anything out of the ordinary.
One girl tapped Odette’s shoulder.
"Hello, my princess" the girls curtsied in unison like perfect mannequins, each of them.
Odette didn’t know these girls and they didn’t look familiar, but still she tried.
"Oh, hey. Um... Thanks for coming." Odette gave a friendly smile. She was trying so hard to be likable and approachable like her mother, instead of the cold and distant person she usually is.
We all chipped and got you a little something.
Odette smiled innocently, so excited to be given a gift directly at one of her own parties. Most people were too afraid to get close enough to her to give her anything. These good stood right next to her and looked to be perfectly comfortable. Odette was glowing inside. This had been the best birthday she could remember.
"Thank you, you didn’t have too do this for me." Odette smiled; tears of happiness filled her eyes.
The girl that always kept everyone at a safe distance. The girl that people saw as nothing more than a tool to get closer to her family.
These strange girls, they came up to her and gave her a gift directly.
"Please open it now." One of the pretty girls insisted.
Odette nodded thinning her lips before looking down at the beautifully wrapped box in her hands.
Lifting the lid a warm red liquid burst from the box, splatting all over her the upper half of her body. The liquid tasted of copper pennies; bile rose in Odette’s mouth.
Blood.
She couldn’t move, she was stunned frozen in place, she couldn’t stop looking down in the box. Her eyes quivered.
Inside was the head of a cat, a cat she often fed during her lunch hour at school.
She dropped the box in horror. Tears poured down her face, a heart wrenching pain stretched through her followed by a hollow pit of rage.
She loved this cat, and if her mother’s cat, Midna, wasn’t such a bitch, she’d have brought the cat home. But the cat was feral and just as unruly as Midna. But still Odette had bonded with the cat during their lunch time together. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
She stood perfectly still, like a statue, but the air crackled with static energy. A heavy and oppressive atmosphere filled the spaces between the guests. Silence had spread through the room. An eerie calm settled around Odette, but it wasn’t the kind of calm you relaxed to. No, this was the quiet kind of calm that came before a violent, murderous monsoon.
And just as soon the room quieted, her head jerked upward, and a deep guttural scream ripped from her chest. Shattering the windows and shaking the ground. Vases fell from the table.
A blast of energy surged from Odette sending the party guests flying backwards.
Odette’s eyes had changed from their usual rose red to a blinding white, one so bright it threatened to blind the sun.
The room trembled beneath her, screams still rushing from her chest. The waves of energy hitting one right after the other.
And then everything in the air died, Odette dropped her head. Hanging loosely on her shoulders. Her hand ripped up from her side and suddenly a set of screams could be heard in the distance.
With squeeze of Odette’s hand the screams where instantly silenced.
Her hand dropped back to her side, her head still hanging at her shoulders, like a puppet with loose strings.
The guest scared to move an inch, scared to even breathe, trembled seated on the ground.
Violet and Ash having heard the commotion and felt the ground shake turn and rushed back to the room.
"We should have never left." Violet muttered, panting as she tried to keep up with Ash who had taken off, he wanted to wait for her, but his dad instincts kicked in.
Down the corridor, he slides to a complete stop. The bodies of five young girls were sprawled on the ground. All five had their necks snapped.
Oh no.
Ash’s heart was pounding out of his chest. Without a care for the girls, he left them running straight toward his daughter. Ash was completely unprepared for the state of the party. When he entered the banquet hall, he saw some of the strongest vampires her knew cowering on the wall. Glass was scattered across the floor. His daughter Odette stood in the center of the room. Alone. Covered in blood.
What happened here?
Violet stumbled on the bodies of the dead girls and shrieked. Guards now having arrived and surrounding the place came rushing to Violet’s side.
But in the banquet hall, no one dared move.
Ash slowly approached his broken daughter standing in the middle of the room.
Ash standing in front of her his eyes landing on what she was staring at.
The head of a small cat laid at his feet.
The word ’monster’ started to float around the room. Hundreds of eyes glared at Odette.
Whispers started to fill the room. But still, she didn’t move.
Ash slowly slid his hand to her back and gently guided his daughter from the center of the room.
Monster.
The word rung in Odette’s ear. Replaying like a bad commercial song stuck in your head.
Odette looked and the moment she did she regretted it. Not only was the entire room staring at her in fear with disgust. She saw a pretty dark-haired girl clinging on to her best friend Kalvin, their fingers intertwined.
This was supposed to be the best night of her life.
Instead... it turned into her worst nightmare.
Her brand new dress covered in blood, her kitten’s head was given to her by a group of strange girls who disappeared.
She had no idea what happened to them. She remembers the agony forcing a scream to burst from her. but then after that nothing. She woke to a dad cats head at her feet and her father slowly guiding her away from the chaos that was about to unfold.
Ash tried to shield Odette from the stairs.
Old Ash would have ripped out the eyes of those who stared with disgust. And ripped out the tongues of those who spoke ill of his daughter.
But he wasn’t that kind of king. Violet would never forgive him if he acted like that. He just had to grit it and bare it.
He looked to a guard and said "No one is to leave, not until Violet and I see every single thing that breathes, moves, sees, speaks, or thinks inside this palace. Am I clear?"
"Yes, my King." The guard nodded, trying hard not to stammer getting on his walkie and informing the other guard of their Kings request.
Odette walked numbly next to her father. Completely absent in her mind. She was long gone, leaving nothing but a hollow shell.
Monster. They called her.
