Chapter 144: Odette’s Prison
***Author’s note: This Chapter is pretty much Chapter 8 of "I was Kidnapped for Revenge by a Ruthless Alpha" from a third person perspective, if you have read that Chapter, you can skip this one and save your coin. You’re welcome***
Odette couldn’t believe what had happened to her. Her morning started off wonderfully. But now, she was in a cold dark and damp cell. Alone. She was trapped, and imprisoned.
’That Bitch Raven, I’ll kill her when I get out here. I’ve never killed anyone, but I will GLADLY make the mutt my first.’ Odette said to herself.
She had been sitting in this dark cell for who knows how long. With no window, she couldn’t even tell what time of day it is. It was disorienting. She was starving and exhausted, her emotions drained her. Odette missed the comforts of home. She ached to see her mother and father, and Kal. Especially Kal. He’d always been by her side.
The door to the dungeon room creaked as it opened, alerting her to an intruder.
"What do you want?" She asked sharply, with unwavering defiance.
"Is that anyway to talk to your better?" Raven... She knew bitches voice anywhere.
"Come to rub it in my face that you helped kidnap me? You know when my father gets a hold of you, you’re toast right? My father will rip you in half." Odette sneered.
"Ha! You think I’m scared of a powerless little vampire like you? You’ve got to be kidding me. You’re collared, making you as powerless as a human you aren’t a threat to anyone, let alone me." Raven mocked her.
"No one is coming to save you." She sneered.
"Yet, even despite this dusty cell you have me in, or this collar around my neck that stops me from using my power, I’m still a princess, I’m a psychic vampire, a rarity. Nothing you or that coward you came with can say or do that will change the fact the blood that runs in my veins is pure and you’re just a trashy mutt, pretending to be something you’re not." She spit out those venomous words with every intent of getting under her skin.
She’d be damned if she let this second-class bitch talk down to her with no rebuttle, "When I am freed from this prison cell, which I will be one day, I’m going to destroy you, erase you, no one will ever know your name."
"Oh, that’s if you survive. I’ll be counting the days until then here’s a little something to remember me by." Raven said pulling out her pocket was a small device with a knob.
Once she cranked the knob, pain erupted in her neck. Electrical shocks ripped through her entire body. Agony was the only feeling her body could process, the only feeling there was any room for. She screamed in pain. Her cries echoed through the whole prison. She crumbled and convulsed as Raven stood watching in delight. Her bones twisted and bent, contorting into inhuman positions. She couldn’t stop screaming long enough to breathe, her vision began to blur, and stars danced in her eyes.
"Raven, that’s enough. Release her." A man’s voice said, "Her screams could be heard across the castle."
"Why do you care?" Raven snapped, still pressing down on the nozzle, holding the current going through her body.
"Raven..." The man’s voice got harsh quickly.
Raven scoffed and tossed the remote to the man. "Here Damon. Don’t get too close to her, she is only a pet. And you know how the king is with his pets."
Raven’s footsteps recede.
Odette laid on the floor whimpering and panting. She’s never experienced such pain before. Her head was a jumbled mess, she felt nauseous and achy. Everything from head to toe ached, her bones and brain felt fried. She just wanted to cry in her mother’s comforting embrace, take away the pain, just like she always did. Odette wanted to crawl into herself and disappear.
"I’m sorry about that. She... well... she didn’t have parents to teach her any manners. She’s also spiteful and mean, but it’s mostly a front, she’s actually not as bad as she pretends to be." The man said.
Odette rolled her eyes; she was struggling to process everything after having her brain fried like chicken. What did he want? What was this good cop bad cop?
"What do you care?" Glancing over to see a tall strikingly handsome man. He had soft blue eyes and tussled blonde hair. A chiseled chin with a strong jaw line. He was built like a brick wall.
"Apologies, speaking of manners, where are mine? I’m Beta Damon Slavinski, I brought some food and something to drink. Will you accept my peace offering?" He approached the cell slowly and cautiously.
She still didn’t speak, just laid on the floor staring up at him silently, feeling him out.
"You haven’t healed you? That’s surprising." Beta Damon looked her over. "You know, you’re nothing like what we expected."
"I’ve been holed up in a cold cell, in the dark, without food or water, for oh, I don’t know how many days. Yeah, I imagine it might take a little longer than usual to heal." She snapped. She wasn’t just hungry for food; she realized it’s been days since she actually fed. her body was in anguish, she couldn’t tell that to him, the less they know, she was confident nothing good would come of anyone knowing how she feeds.
"You’re quiet." He said breaking the silence.
"And you talk a lot." She responded quickly.
"Yeah, I’ve heard that before," He chuckled.
"I guess what I’m saying is, I’m surprised you’re not begging to be released? Most people would. You haven’t even asked for help." He slid down the cell floor now at level with her. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"What good would it do if I begged, or pleaded? Nothing. So, why should I waste my breath? Embarrass myself." She pointed out.
"Fair point. I know you’re hungry. Here" Damon said pushing the bowl over of rice and chicken.
"Why are you here? Talking to me?" I asked skeptically.
"Honestly, because I’m not as cruel as everyone else. I wanted to see for myself this white-haired princess with crimson eyes." He answered, with what looked like genuine honesty.
’Yet again, more people who want to observe me like I’m some king of zoo exhibit. It’s like I can’t exist as my own person; it was exhausting. Even here in a cell away from the politics and the drama, I’m still just something to look at and wonder about.’ She said to herself.
"You really are beautiful, I see why he’s so obsessed with you." Beta Damon smiled. But it wasn’t one of lust or devious, but one of pleasant curiosity.
"What are you talking about? Who’s he?" She peered over at him moving toward the bars of the cell.
"Nothing really, just getting a clearer picture for myself is all." Beta Damon answered vaguely.
She was confused about what he was talking about. Who’s obsessed with her? Kal?
"I’m going to get you a real bed and blanket, the draft in here is a bit much." Beta Damon told me.
"Why?"
"Because even the children of monsters deserve a place to sleep." Beta Damon said flatly.
Monsters?
She said nothing just simply nodded and continued eating. They sat in silence the remainder of the meal. After she finished, he collected the bowl and cup and got up to leave.
"Hey, wait." she yelled but then paused.
"Hmm..." He asked.
"Thanks." She pushed the words out if even though they tasted horrible.
"You’re welcome. I’ll have a bed brought in soon."
