Chapter 44: something in the way you move

After finishing, they both laid in bed breathless.

"I’m sorry I made you feel like I would pick a wolf over you. I wouldn’t ever. I can’t express how important you are to me, how important all of you are." Violet said rolling over to look at Jeremy’s face who was laying down next to.

Jeremy turns his head and says "except Riley, I think you forgot him." He chuckled a little.

"You’re right I did forget to exclude him" Violet chuckled with him. "In all seriousness, think about it Jeremy, what if I held you to the same standard over what Riley has done to me, because you are not only associated but also directly related to the man who haunts my nightmares." Violet paused seeing the look on Jeremy’s face when what she said sank in. "It’s not fair is it? To punish you for what someone else has done? Should you do the same to her?"

Jeremy was struggling to wrap his mid around her words. Violet was right, but why did it still make him so uneasy to think about? To possibly be that wolves friend. The word friend was already such a foreign word for him but to add a wolf as apart of the sentence was just such an unbelievable concept. A pure blood being

friends with a wolf. His circle was getting bigger and more diverse. A half vampire, a witch? A wolf? What was going on?

"You’re not wrong, Violet, I know, but I still can’t help not liking her. But I admit it’s not fair. She barely and only recently without a choice is apart of the wolf pack. Maybe it would be different if she wasn’t apart of that pick, I could stomach being friends with a wolf." Jeremy said.

Violet was very invested in Jeremy’s words, it’s the most he’s ever opened up to her really, specifically about his feelings.

"I feel it’s disrespectful to my mother’s memory to be friends with anyone associated with the wold pack." Jeremy finished.

"Well, does that include me now, since I’m affiliated with that pack through Ursula?" Violet asked.

Jeremy hadn’t thought of that. "Is it the same though?"

"Well yes, you can choose to never talk to me and only see me on full moons. But you wouldn’t because you don’t blame me. Because you know I had nothing to do with it. Same as her." Violet said. "I’m not saying go be her best friend. But I am saying don’t hate her for something she didn’t do," Violet stretched her hand and caressed the side of his face. The feeling made Jeremy close his eyes. He just let himself feel her gentle touch, breathing in her scent, enjoying her presence. Violet was changing his whole world. He fell asleep looking at her, feeling the safest he’s ever felt.

Violet dozed quickly after Jeremy and when she woke Jeremy was still sleeping, Jeremy’s room is exactly what you’d expect, clean, simple organized. He had framed posters on his wall of different concerto’s, he had white oak wood furniture with a black rug. His dresser had a square mirror with sharp corners. He also had a large he had a black leather couch in the corner and a TV on the wall in front of both the bed and the couch. He had yellow toned lights on the wall that luminated the room. It was calm and peaceful in the room. Violet checked the time on her phone and it was 4am, they’d slept through dinner. There was only a few hours before dawn, but she wasn’t the least bit tired now after she’d nap. She wondered when Ash would be home. The fact he hasn’t dragged Jeremy out of his room means he’s not home yet.

She quietly crawled out of Jeremys bed. Put Ash’s shirt back on, grabbed her clothes and quietly leaves his room. Opening the door to her room, a sense of home hit her. This was space was hers and her bed looked so welcoming. She ran to the bed and jumped on it soaking in the soft embrace of her pillows and blankets. Violet was feeling good about her conversation with Jeremy and where it went. She hoped she managed to convince him to give Ursula a chance. She changed out of her clothes her school uniform and put on a pair of soft brown yoga pants and a cream colored sweater that looked too large and one side was dropped over her shoulders. She threw her hair in a ponytail. Slid her cute bunny slippers on and walked down stairs to grab some dinner. She checks her phone and there’s 10 missed calls from ash and 2 from Oliver.

"Oh jeez Ash is probably mad" Violet says to herself. She text’s him back and lets him and Oliver know that she’d be waiting for them to get home. Ash texted back quickly giving her a ETA of 6a. She smiled. All of her boys would be home soon, she loved those 3 brothers more than anyone else in the world now.

Violet takes herself a sandwich and snack, then into the living room where she was going to set up and watch a scary movie and wait for Ash and Oliver to get home. Given Violet’s personality and demeanor it’s hard to believe she’d be into scary movies, let alone even watching them alone it was her guilty pleasure watching scary movies. It wasn’t long before Jeremy woke up and noticed Violet was not with him in his bed. He changed his clothes and went and checked her room, after knocking and hearing no response he wandered downstairs, hearing the TV and smiled, hear the music of the movie he could tell it was horror. This sweet summer child liked horror, who would have guessed.

Jeremy enters the living room and finds his little tiny Violet curled up on the couch with a blanket, a sandwich and some popcorn. She was adorable; Jeremy stood in the doorway observing her quietly. Jeremy noticed the change and music so he snuck up behind Violet in the dark and when the killer was coming out from the basement door Jeremy popped up behind and her and yelled "BOO!!!". Violet screamed, turned and punched him square in the face.

"Fuck OW!" Jeremy yells stumbling backwards, falling down, holding his nose.

"Oh my gosh! Jeremy, Oh shoot, I’m so sorry!" Violet shouted jumping from the couch quickly, using the remote, she turned on the light and dashed over to Jeremy.

"Oh shoot you’re bleeding. Oh, Jeremy I’m so sorry I really didn’t mean to hit you." Violet was so upset with her stuff, tears started to burst from eyes.

Jeremy bust out laughing. A deep hearty laugh, "fuck Violet, you pack a harder punch than Riley." Jeremy couldn’t believe such a tiny girl packed such a powerful punch, where did she hide all that strength? Did she have it this whole time?

"I’ve never hit anyone before, I didn’t even know I could hit that hard." Violet said crying "Please forgive me."

"Violet, calm down, you’re fine. I promise." Jeremy tried to reassure Violet he was okay

rubbing the back of her hair.

Just then the front door opens, Ash and Oliver come through and looking to their right they see blood all over Jeremy, Violet on the floor crying, and a horror movie in the back.

"What the hell happened?" Oliver asked.

"Violet socked me in the nose," Jeremy said nonchalantly.

Ash and Oliver look at each other and then looked back and busted with laughter, hunched over holding their stomachs.

"Oh my god, you’ve got to be kidding me," Ash was very amused "that our sweet and gentle Violet, not only punched you, but made you bleed that bad? You’re a pure blood how is that even possible for a human?"

"I think you need to work out more Jer, getting you ass handed to you by a human, a small one at that." Oliver said unable to contain his laughter.

"I know, I think I might be more shocked than you two." Jeremy said, "It actually hurt."

"My question is, why? What did you do to make our Violet punch you that hard?" Oliver asked.

"I scared her." Jeremy answered.

"You really expect us to believe you just ’scared her’, are you serious?" Ash said skeptically.

"It’s true" Violet said wiping her tears. "In the movie, the killer popped from the kitchen and Jeremy at the same time yelled BOO and scared me and I kinda just hit him. I don’t know what happened."

"I never thought I’d see the day where our Violet would punch someone. Let alone one of the three of us. Maybe Riley? But definitely not us." Oliver said.

"I’m impressed Violet, maybe we should be teaching you to fight." Ash joked.

"Oh no, fightings not for me." Violet giggled "I was so upset when I accidentally hit Jeremy, I don’t think I could handle intentionally hurting someone."

"Of course, of course," Oliver said.

"Why are you guys back so early, I thought you said 6?" Violet asked Ash.

"Oliver decided to put some pep in his step when he noticed what time it was and when I told him you’d be waiting." Ash answered shoving Oliver some and rolling his eyes.

"Want to watch the rest of the movie with me?" Violet asked.

"Yes, we’d be delighted my princess." Oliver teased.

"Great!" Violet shouted and clapped her hands together, "I’ll get more popcorn and snacks, then restart the movie."

"I’ll come help." Ash offered.

"Okay!" Violet answered.

In the kitchen Ash’s mood dropped the temperature a couple degrees.

"I can smell him on you." Ash growled.

"I know." Violet said ashamed looking down "But this is the way things are. No isn’t

allowed and you know it."

"I’m gonna fucking kill him." Ash threatened.

"Stop, you can’t. I belong to all of you until I’m mated." Violet said reaching out to touch Ash’s face.

"I love all three of you, but you know, it’s you I’m in love with." Violet gently kisses Ash lips.

Inhaling her scent, he embraces her, passionately matching her kiss. Ash did know Violet was to be shared among them all until she was mated. Their father demanded we all be given a fair chance. If our father found out we had been depriving Riley of Violet as often as we could he would probably cane us.

"What other snacks should we grab?" Violet was all smiles as she looked up at Ash.
