Chapter 1003: Chapter 90: You’re So Naughty, I Like It So Much! (5.3k, 13k already, asking for votes and encouragement from the big shots)_2

Now that the cards are on the table, there’s no point in hiding any longer, Luo En frankly stated his purpose.

"What’s the difference?"

Urd’s expression softened slightly, but her tone remained icy cold,

"To watch this world head towards its twilight, to covet the [Fruit of Destiny] born from it, isn’t this what you should, and have been continuously doing?"

"Of course, there’s a difference."

Luo En shook his head and calmly replied,

"Orlog seeks to hollow out both Divine Eras, to consume everything utterly, so he wishes for the intensity of Ragnarök to be as great as possible, preferably leaving none of you alive. Whereas I only desire to obtain the [Fruit of Destiny] sufficient to extend the Heavenly Destiny of Greece, to allow more people a chance to survive. This includes my Divine Era, as well as yours."

"You speak prettily, but in the end, isn’t it just to destroy our Divine Era, to sustain your own?"

Scouty abruptly stood up, indignantly retorted.

"Perhaps, there’s a third path we could take." Luo En raised his cup and spoke with a smile, "Let’s cooperate. I’ll use the [Fruit of Destiny] to renew my Divine Era, and you preserve the ember of the Nordic one, continuing as Fate Goddesses."

"That’s impossible! For you to desire the [Fruit of Destiny], you must inevitably destroy the Nordic Divine Era, sacrifice everything, collecting enough [Heavenly Destiny]! From this perspective, we are natural adversaries, destined to be immiscible as water and fire, unless..."

Here, Urd paused for a moment, as if feeling something, her gaze towards Luo En filled with horror.

And Luo En, putting down his cup, ominously completed the answer:

"Unless, I manage to find another sacrifice of equivalent value. And, as it happens, the Nordic God Era now has a particularly suitable candidate."

"Hiss!"

Scouty took a sharp breath, unable to stay seated,

"You want us to betray the Father God?"

"No, I just hope that you think more of this world, for yourselves."

Luo En shook his head, smiled, and continued,

"As the Three Fates ruling over destiny, your Authority stems from everything in the Nordic world. Once Ragnarök descends, and the world collapses, everything perishes, [Fate] will also lose its meaning. When that time comes, it’s not far-fetched to say that your Father God might consume you as well."

Upon hearing this, the faces of the Norn Three Goddesses instantly flickered with uncertainty.

Given the temperament of that Father God, such a future wasn’t improbable.

Seeing the hesitation emerge on the faces of the Norn Three Goddesses, Luo En’s heart that was hanging finally settled, and he satisfyingly downed the nectar in his cup.

Had this conversation faced the Three Fates of Greece, those three emotionless automatons might not have listened.

But fortunately, the Origin God Orlog, who created the Nordic Three Fates was himself corrupt and possessed strong personal desires.

With his influence as an external factor, the Norn Three Goddesses gradually escaped the restraints of the Power of Fate, becoming increasingly human.

And within humanity, [Instinct for Survival] is inherent in our bones.

However, out of fear for that Father God, the Three Fates still tried to deny this worst possible outcome:

"We are daughters of the Father God, he still needs us to orchestrate the [Great Chorale], he surely wouldn’t harm us!"

"That’s in the past!"

Luo En unapologetically shattered their illusions, and scoffed,

"Right now, Scouty is my former fiancée, Belldandy is my reward from a won bet, and Urd, don’t forget that you owe me a favor! Now, tied up in all this, can the four of us even make clear distinctions? We’re already grasshoppers on the same string, sharing both honor and disaster. If I take to the stage and die in Ragnarök, do you think your old father will give up devouring my Divinity? Or will he bother to laboriously separate you out one by one?"

After some thought, the Norn Three Goddesses shivered involuntarily.

The answer was self-evident.

If that Father God truly cherished them, he would not have pushed Scouty to this outsider, guiding him to fulfill the mission of Ragnarök, to sacrifice himself;

If he truly cherished them, he would not have withdrawn behind the scenes, cutting off all causal ties with this world, waiting for the [Fruit of Destiny] to mature before having them orchestrate the [Great Chorale] to awaken it.

Because all things carry a cost.

Benefiting from this world, the deeper their entanglement, the greater the backlash and harm they would suffer when Ragnarök arrives. They could perish in the fires of the Gods’ Twilight just like the other deities, without their Father God needing to take action.

Yet even knowing this, the Norn Three Goddesses lacked the courage to defy him once they pondered the immense power of the Father God.

Urd, as the eldest, could only shake her head helplessly, and wryly said:

"It’s futile, the Father God is the Origin God standing at the apex of the Divine Era, and besides, the Divine Kings of the Nine Great Kingdoms hinder each other with highly dispersed Heavenly Destiny. Let alone the thought of escaping Fate and defying the Father God, defeating us is already unlikely."

Upon hearing this, Luo En’s face darkened.

He had been wondering why the life of Zeus, the Heavenly Destiny Divine King of Greece, seemed so lush, triumphing over heaven, earth, and the air, even eventually toppling the Three Fates.

Coming to Nordic, he found no shortage of Divine Kings, yet when it came to actual battle, each seemed weaker than the last.

Even the so-called Heavenly Destiny Divine King Odin, when he tried to arouse vigor, could only strive to maintain balance, lest he be suppressed and ground into the dust by myriad rebels.

After all this, he realized that these Nordic Divine Kings had barely grasped any so-called [Heavenly Destiny], and Orlog did not intend to nurture any threat to himself from these sacrificial offerings.
