Chapter 971: Chapter 78: Very Big, Very Soft, and... Prickly?

Land of Chaos, Solheim.

This place is a deserted land surrounded by mountains, the continuous range seems like the spine of the earth, majestic and bleak. The sky is always shrouded with a heavy layer of lead clouds. The sunlight struggles to pierce through, casting the region in a perennially cold and oppressive atmosphere.

In the mountain passes, the icy wind whips like a sharp blade, slashing against the skin of every outsider brave enough to expose themselves. The vast wilderness is covered with ice-blue permafrost, and the sparse vegetation struggles stubbornly against the relentless blizzards of Giant Country, but it seems that at any moment it could be devoured by the merciless force.

"Achoo!"

Following an uncomfortable sneeze, a tall blond Beauty clad in Swan Feather Weave and with large patches of pale skin exposed, couldn’t help but muster the Thunder God Power within her to resist the severe cold of Giant Country.

However, as soon as the Thunderbolt began to surge, it was dispersed by a hand landing on his shoulder.

"Freya doesn’t have the ability to command thunderbolts. Now that we’re in Solem territory, if you don’t want to give yourself away, you’d better behave."

Luo En, following behind, reminded his impetuous great-nephew without much patience.

Thor looked at the elegant and complex Swan Feather Robe on his body, the heavy mounds on his chest, and his golden hair and blue eyes mirrored on the icy surface, bearing an uncanny resemblance to one of the incarnations of the Goddess of Love, and felt a strong sense of shame. His face turned red-hot, and he couldn’t help but consider beating a retreat:

"How about we forget about it? Let’s think of another way?"

"If you want to forget it, forget it. It’s not like what Solem has is mine; I don’t really care."

Luo En responded briskly, even patting Thor’s shoulder with a full face of sympathy,

"It’s up to you, though. Let’s not talk about how embarrassing it will be if word gets out that you lost the Thunder God’s Hammer. All the suffering you’ve endured up to now would have been for nothing."

Hearing this, the nightmare-like experiences flashed through Thor’s mind.

To convincingly play "Freya," his journey thus far had been far from easy.

On top of applying makeup, wearing jewelry, and dressing in skirts, he also had to remove body hair.

After all, a Goddess who reigns over love and beauty would naturally have smooth and tender skin, and an abundance of male body hair was an impossible trait.

Illusion Technique can disguise outward appearances and deceive the eyes, but it hardly changes the sensation up close.

To this end, Luo En personally undertook the task of providing him with a full-body hair removal service.

And that day in the small grove, his screams continued for several agonizing hours.

Beyond that, to perfectly deceive Solem, he had to change his tone of voice and the way he walked, making his actions as similar as possible to Freya.

Ever since entering the Land of Chaos, he had not urinated standing up.

Thor thought about those humiliating moments and almost bit his silver teeth to pieces, reigniting the determination to persevere within his heart:

"You’re right, I’ve come this far, I’ll crawl if I have to, just to confront Solem and make that bastard pay!"

Due to the full-spectrum makeover by Luo En and Valkyrie Brynhild, what would have been a fierce declaration spilled out of Thor’s lipstick-smeared cherry lips with a touch of charm, reminiscent of a Beauty wronged by a scoundrel, intent on revenge.

It must be said, the Thunder God of Asa certainly has a talent for cross-dressing.

Luo En secretly sighed while covertly recording everything with a Shadow Crystal Stone hidden up his sleeve.

Such good material (leverage) must be kept in several copies for keepsake (evidence).

"How far away is Solem’s stronghold?" Thor’s inquiry interrupted Luo En’s thoughts.

Luo En came back to his senses and sized up the surroundings.

The snow nearby had visibly diminished, and the blowing winds were somewhat less fierce.

Along the way, there were occasional signs of Magic Beasts activities, as well as some abandoned large caves or rudimentary stone houses, hinting at the presence of civilized settlements.

"We should be getting close. Be careful not to give yourself away."

Luo En reminded in a clear and euphonic voice, full of gentle warning.

And to outsiders, he appeared to be a tall and neat silver-haired Maid.

Accompanying Freya for an artifact Exchange, this identity was naturally more suitable.

So, to be on the safe side, Luo En gave in to a bit of hardship himself, cloaking in an Illusion Technique for a certain degree of disguise.

"My lord, there seems to be a castle ahead."

Valkyrie Brynhild, walking at the forefront, pointed towards a specific mountaintop and reported her discovery.

Being the only member of the party who is biologically female, she naturally played the part of one of Freya’s Maids for the trip.

Hearing her voice, Luo En and Thor looked in the direction Brynhild was pointing and peered into the distance.

They saw a towering castle built against the mountain, perched upon a cliff. Its wild and lofty spires stood firm against the howling wind, tearing through the dark, heavy clouds, and presented a dignified and striking sight.

In the interior of the fortress walls, houses made of huge stones and man-made caves were densely packed together, forming a settlement. Figures with blue or brown skin, wielding rudimentary weapons, held the high ground, patrolling back and forth.

They had arrived!

Thor and Luo En nodded at each other and hastened their pace in unison.

After passing through a Magic Barrier, the sight before them was rife with a savage and bloody atmosphere.

Along the path leading to the castle’s main gate, ferocious Magic Beasts and towering Giants were either frozen into Ice Crystals serving as milestone markers or skewered into dried meat hanging in the snow to intimidate outsiders, with Frost Giants being the most common.
