10: Chapter 10: The Fallen Princess (1)
Jian Anning panicked, too flustered to straighten her clothes, she rushed to open the door and ran out!
“You dare!” Yu Zexiao tried to stop her, but as soon as he moved, a sharp pain struck him, causing him to immediately crouch down.
He could only watch helplessly as the perpetrator fled in a panic.
No sooner had she left than Yu Zexiao’s assistant, Yang Haoming, appeared in the room.
Seeing Yu Zexiao in such a state, he immediately approached, “Young Master?”
“I, I’m fine.” Yu Zexiao clutched at his groin with one hand while bracing himself against the wall with the other as he struggled to his feet.
That woman was too cruel!
He was a big star, for goodness’ sake, with countless fans eagerly awaiting just one glance from him!
He had not disdained her for her looks or her bad temperament, and he had even overlooked the possibility that she might not be a virgin.
Yet, this damn woman had…
He took a deep breath, and a sharp light flashed through his dark, deep eyes, like that of a wild wolf!
Jian Anning, you just wait!
————
At eleven o’clock that night, just after returning to her rented room, Jian Anning received a call from Yin Maohui’s secretary, Hong Minjun, “Anning, what happened tonight?
Zexiao didn’t attend the evening press conference!
He wasn’t there for the endorsement negotiations either!
He’s not answering calls.
Where did he run off to?”
Jian Anning collapsed onto the sofa, massaged her temples, and replied with an exhausted voice, “Sister Minjun, I’ve searched everywhere and still can’t find him.”
Yu Zexiao had received news about Jian Anning from Yang Haoming and in full view of everyone, he had left abruptly in the face of numerous reporters, leaving his co-star Jiang Xuanqi and the rest of the staff and journalists behind.
There were several advertising agents hoping to discuss endorsements with him after the press conference, including one worth tens of millions, which he disregarded.
“You are his assistant.
How can you not know where he is?” Hong Minjun was furious.
Though Yin Maohui was Yu Zexiao’s agent, as the president of Starlight Entertainment, most of Yu Zexiao’s affairs were relayed through Yin Maohui’s secretary, Hong Minjun.
Yu Zexiao’s work assistant, Yang Haoming, was brought over from the Yu Family and took orders only from Yu Zexiao.
The company couldn’t interfere.
Having stormed out of the control room, Yu Zexiao was contacted by Hong Minjun; in response, Yang Haoming coldly reported, “He’s not feeling well.” After which, he ignored the company’s repeated inquiries.
“This was an important press conference and he didn’t show up, not even offering a word to the company!
Afterwards, he’s nowhere to be seen; what kind of assistant are you, anyway!
If you can’t find Zexiao by tomorrow morning, don’t bother coming to work!”
After this ultimatum, Hong Minjun hung up the phone.
Jian Anning massaged her forehead, having witnessed the capricious and bizarre ways of this superstar, Yu Zexiao, after this month’s association with him.
He had a cleanliness obsession; he absolutely would not touch anything others had touched and refused to use anything others had used.
He did not like physical contact with others; he was averse to even hugs and handshakes.
Especially, he detested those women in the company who wore heavy makeup, bore an overwhelming perfume scent, and had love-struck expressions on their faces towards him.
She was chosen as his lifestyle assistant, perhaps because her bare face without makeup appeared relatively “clean”.
Or maybe, it was because she didn’t swoon over his devastatingly handsome features!
