Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Liu Yuxi

Luo Meng hesitated for a moment, his lips parting as if he wanted to protest, but upon seeing the distant look in Gu Jin’s eyes, he wisely held his tongue.

With a quiet bow, he stepped back and exited the room, leaving her alone in the moonlit silence.

The next few days the student noticed a pattern.

Even though Senior Long was as it, constantly begging for Gu Jin’s attention, Gu Jin at some point had turned even more cold.

Some commented that Gu Jin was becoming annoyed, while some thought that her coldness hid something deeper.

No one knew the reality, but they understood one thing: Long Yifan was destined to suffer.

Some were secretly delighted. Long Yifan’s intense training left them with a sore body.

Some were heartbroken.

Earlier rarely anyone paid attention to Long Yifan due to his low cultivation base, some even doubted how he ended up at Beijing University.

But when he revealed his high cultivation, Long Yifan became a popular choice among the women.

"Yifan," a soft voice called out.

Long Yifan looked up and found himself face to face with Lin Yuxi, a well-known third-year student.

She was tall and elegant, with sharp eyes that often held a glint of amusement. Today, however, they carried something different—concern.

She held out a bottle of water, her lips curling into a polite smile.

"You’ve been training hard. Here."

Long Yifan barely spared it a glance. "Not interested."

His tone was clipped, cold.

He made a move to step past her, but she simply tilted her head, unfazed by his dismissiveness.

"You should take a break, Senior Long. You push yourself too hard."

"Not your concern." His eyes were ice, his patience thinner than a blade. "Leave."

Lin Yuxi let out a light chuckle, shaking her head.

"Still stubborn, I see. But that’s exactly why I came to talk to you."

He frowned but said nothing, waiting for her to get to the point.

She exhaled slowly, as if gathering her thoughts. "It’s about Gu Jin."

At the mention of her name, Long Yifan’s expression darkened, but Lin Yuxi continued before he could cut her off.

"She’s not interested in you. Everyone can see it, but you refuse to acknowledge it. I admire persistence, Senior Long, but even the strongest warriors know when to retreat."

His jaw clenched, his hands curling into fists. "That’s not for you to decide."

Lin Yuxi sighed, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"You’re right. It’s not. But I’d rather you hear it from me than keep chasing something that’s slipping further away.

Do you think if you just try harder, she’ll change? That if you show her enough sincerity, she’ll forgive you?"

She tilted her head, studying his rigid stance.

"You don’t understand Gu Jin. She’s not the type to be swayed by persistence alone."

Long Yifan’s eyes flashed with irritation. "And you think you do?"

She nodded, her gaze unwavering.

"Better than you, at least. Gu Jin values strength and independence. Such type of woman are purely focused on their career, they never care about love."

His breath came out slow, controlled, but the tension in his shoulders betrayed his emotions. "Are you finished?"

Lin Yuxi smiled, but it wasn’t mocking. It was knowing.

"Almost. I just wanted to say this—there’s a difference between love and obsession. One builds, the other suffocates. Ask yourself which one you’re doing."

Long Yifan’s fingers twitched, but his voice remained even. "You should leave."

Lin Yuxi studied him for a moment longer, then nodded.

"As you wish, Yifan. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you."

Long Yifan rolled his eyes and ignored her.

.........................................

Liu Yuxi exited the training area and made her way to Gu Jin’s dormitory. She had a clear plan in her mind.

Intimidate Gu Jin and ask her to never accept Long Yifan’s confession.

After all, Long Yifan was too much to her liking. She had earlier called for Long Yifan’s face, but when she knew about his low cultivation, she could only give up.

A week ago, Long Yifan’s display of power, left her stunned and regretful. If only she had chased Long Yifan before, then the top-tier talent would have been hers.

Ah...

However, it still wasn’t late.

She still had a chance.

Just as she reached Gu Jin’s dorm room and was about to knock on her door, a bag covered her vision and soon she found herself being hauled.

"Ahh! Who is this? Stop! Put me down!" Liu Yuxi shouted.

She tried to cast a thunder spell, however, to her dismay, her magic seemed to have been blocked by some unknown force.

Liu Yuxi struggled against the restraints, her muffled cries echoing through the hallways of the girls’ dormitory. The bag over her head made it impossible to see where she was being taken, but the sharp scent of pine and damp earth told her she had been dragged into the forest area of Beijing University.

Her heart pounded.

Who dared to treat her like this? She was a third-year student, an elite among her peers! Whoever this person was, they would regret it.

The moment the bag was yanked off, Liu Yuxi blinked rapidly, adjusting to the dim light filtering through the dense canopy of trees.

Her breath caught when she saw the person standing before her—

Long Yifan.

His expression was calm, almost indifferent, but there was a dangerous glint in his eyes. The usual warmth he carried when speaking to Gu Jin was nowhere to be found. Instead, he stood before her like an immovable force, radiating an air of quiet menace.

Liu Yuxi shivered, though whether from fear or indignation, she wasn’t sure.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" she snapped, brushing off dirt from her robes.

"Enough." Long Yifan’s voice was soft, but it cut through the air like a blade. "I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what you want. But hear me clearly, Liu Yuxi—stay away from Gu Jin."

Liu Yuxi clenched her fists, anger flaring in her chest.

"Are you serious? I was just going to have a conversation with her. What’s wrong with that?"

Long Yifan took a step closer, forcing her to tilt her head to meet his eyes.

"A conversation? Spare me the pretense. You were planning to intimidate her, weren’t you? To manipulate her into rejecting me so you could have a chance instead."

Liu Yuxi’s mouth opened slightly in shock. How did he—?

Long Yifan’s smirk was humorless.

"You think I wouldn’t notice? You think I don’t see through people like you? You were never interested in me until I revealed my strength. And now that you’ve realized your mistake, you want to fix it. Pathetic."

Liu Yuxi’s face burned with humiliation, but she forced herself to recover. "So what? Gu Jin doesn’t even like you! Why waste your time on a woman who will never return your feelings?"

Long Yifan’s expression remained impassive. "That’s none of your concern."

Liu Yuxi scoffed, folding her arms.

"I’m just being logical. Why chase after someone who treats you like a stranger? Someone who won’t even look at you twice? She doesn’t deserve your devotion."

For the first time, a flicker of amusement crossed Long Yifan’s face. "And you do?"

Liu Yuxi’s breath hitched. She hadn’t expected him to be so direct.

He continued, his voice dropping to a near whisper,

"Let me make this clear. I don’t need your advice, and I certainly don’t need your schemes. If you ever try to involve yourself in my matters again—if you so much as breathe in Gu Jin’s direction with ill intent—you’ll regret it."

A sudden pressure filled the air, making it difficult for Liu Yuxi to breathe. She gasped, her knees weakening under the weight of Long Yifan’s aura.

His power was overwhelming, suffocating, like a storm pressing down on her chest.

She had underestimated him.

"Do you understand?" he asked, his voice calm, but the underlying threat was unmistakable.

Liu Yuxi swallowed hard and nodded quickly.

Long Yifan took a step back, and just as suddenly as it appeared, the oppressive force vanished. Liu Yuxi gasped, greedily sucking in air as sweat dripped down her temples.

Without another word, Long Yifan turned and walked away, leaving her alone in the dark forest.

Liu Yuxi fell to her knees, trembling.

She had always thought of Long Yifan as someone who was aloof but easy to manipulate. Now, she realized just how wrong she had been.

This was a man who would stop at nothing to protect Gu Jin.

And that made him dangerous.

"Crazy...crazy...this person too crazy! I f*cking don’t dare to like him. With such a resolute attitude, no woman will dare to chase him!"

A hint of envy appeared in Liu Yuxi’s eyes,

"Just how much he loves her, that he makes sure none of his peach blossoms reaches his true love...Anyways, I can’t afford to like him..."
