Chapter 114: Chapter 114 — Level 2 Healing Potion

William appeared in his room, sitting on his bed in the exact same position he had left. Everything looked exactly the same, and even the marks he made on the doors were there, meaning no one had tried to enter to look for him. With a deep sigh, he relaxed. Every second spent next to Anubis had been truly tense; he didn’t know if that oath could stop Anubis if he truly wanted to kill him.

Angel spoke to him in his mind once more, a sign that she had returned safely from the nightmare world. Her voice had grown sweeter with each passing day; that cold, emotionless artificial intelligence had been left behind, giving way to a new entity that wasn’t yet a living being, but was no longer a machine.

"Can you believe everything that’s happened?", William asked.

"It’s been too strange, but in the end, it turned out well. Now we have a powerful bodyguard," Angel replied.

"Your power has grown immensely. Your stats almost tripled with the absorption of the lizard, and that’s not counting the Sword of Chaos and the Void Sword Technique. They’re too powerful. Perhaps it’s the greatest loot, but you must be careful, William. You can’t be overconfident; everything seems too good to be true."

William sighed, holding his head: "I know. Everything I touch in that world seems to have consequences, and the power I depend on isn’t mine, but also... every situation I’ve been through there strengthens me more than any training in this place. If it weren’t for everything we’ve experienced there, I wouldn’t be able to defend myself, and right now we’re surrounded by enemies."

Angel looked at him with a serious expression: "You’re right about that; we are currently in the most dangerous place of all."

William fell silent for a few seconds, until he asked: "What time is it?"

Angel turned her head towards the room’s entrance, saying: "It’s daytime. They’re probably already moving around here."

Shortly after taking a shower, William walked through the academy corridors towards the infirmary. His footsteps were firm, his face serious as if he wanted to kill someone. He entered the infirmary and immediately saw Lia, lying on one of the beds at the back. Her face was still swollen, her breathing ragged. Despite everything, it was clear she was fighting.

"How is she doing?", he asked, approaching one of the nurses.

Two nurses looked up from a nearby table. One of them shook her head.

"We’ve tried all the first-grade potions... even advanced infusions. But the dark sap toxin is too potent. If she doesn’t receive a second-grade potion... she will die in a matter of days, we’re sorry. The dark sap used was extremely pure and caused more damage than expected."

William frowned. The name "dark sap" resonated in his mind, as did "second-grade potion." "That was the name... I still owe Jayce one...", William murmured to himself.

"Of course," the other nurse said. "A second-grade potion like that costs ten thousand points. It’s not something just any student can afford. Not even third-year nobles can afford that luxury."

"Ten thousand?", William repeated, surprised. He clearly remembered that a first-grade one cost barely a hundred.

The nurses nodded.

"But don’t worry," one of them added. "If you have the points, you can request it directly from your collar. The system takes care of the rest; we won’t be intermediaries if you doubt we might defraud you." freёnovelkiss.com

William didn’t hesitate. He took out his collar and touched it. Its interface unfolded before him with a slight blue flicker. He entered the store, searched for "second-grade potion," and found it in the medical section.

Confirm purchase — 10,000 points.

Without further thought, he accepted. A flash appeared before his eyes, and then a small, clear glass bottle with crimson liquid inside floated for a few seconds and then gently fell into his palm.

The nurses froze.

"W-what...?", one whispered. "Does he really... have that many points?"

"Who the hell is this kid...?", whispered the other, but this time with a voice full of greed, while their gazes changed like those of a beast seeing its prey.

William ignored them before simply saying: "Save her."

The potion was administered with utmost care. Lia shuddered as soon as the liquid touched her lips. The transformation was almost immediate: the swelling disappeared and her skin began to peel off, revealing new, healthy skin free of the damage caused by toxins. The black veins marked under her neck vanished like ink dissolving in water. In less than a minute, she seemed to have woken up from a bad dream.

William watched with narrowed eyes. That potion didn’t just accelerate regeneration. It didn’t just eliminate toxins, but it even restored body parts that normally never healed on their own; it was truly a miraculous potion.

Lia blinked and, suddenly, saw him. And instantly, tears began to stream down her cheeks: "William...". Getting up abruptly, she clung to his chest, trembling. Despite being in that condition, she had been conscious the entire time, so she knew everything William had done for her: from seeking revenge and confronting a professor to paying an exorbitant amount to heal her. She was completely stunned by so much love William had shown her.

William gently stroked her hair.

"I wasn’t going to let you die. Not after everything we’ve been through."

She sobbed against his chest, unable to stop.

"Thank you... thank you...".

William smiled slightly. His eyes, however, were alert. The nurses’ gazes had turned dangerous. Sheep... turned into bloodthirsty wolves.

When Lia calmed down, he leaned in and asked: "Do you want to rest a bit more? Or go to classes?"

Lia took a deep breath. She wiped away her tears with determination and shook her head: "I’m going to classes. I’m not going to let them think this defeated me."

William stood up and helped her rise. Her energy was almost completely restored.

"That’s what I like! Let’s go," William said with a smile.
