The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 98
Kang Se-heon entered with a smile—but only for a moment. In the blink of an eye, his face hardened. Tae-seo, still frozen in place as he watched that shift in expression, didn’t move as Se-heon strode quickly toward him.
“What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”
It wasn’t until Kang Se-heon came right up to him and touched his face that Tae-seo finally stirred. From the moment he saw him, all his attention had tunneled into Se-heon. The way his eyebrows shifted, the way he bit his lip like he might draw blood—Tae-seo had been dazed, watching every detail.
The moment he saw his face, everything from before he fell asleep came rushing back like a dam breaking. He confessed to me.
A quiet heat climbed up his cheeks.
“Tae-seo?”
Se-heon’s voice snapped him out of his daze. Right. He asked if I was hurt.
“Not hurt, really...”
Tae-seo, recalling the strange sensation he’d felt before Se-heon came in, awkwardly placed his hand over his stomach.
“Was it a gurgle? Or maybe... a bubbling sound? Like a water bubble popping? I don’t even know how to describe it.”
At first, he thought it might’ve just been hunger, but it felt oddly different. And yet, it was hard to say exactly how it was different. While Tae-seo gently rubbed his belly in confusion, Se-heon’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he reached out his hand.
He laid his hand over Tae-seo’s, trying to feel it for himself—but it was no use.
“It passed quickly. I don’t feel anything now.”
The strange feeling inside him had faded, back to normal. But the thirst he felt the moment he saw Kang Se-heon surged again. Tae-seo let out a slow breath and leaned into him.
“Release your pheromones.”
The moment Se-heon released them, Tae-seo’s face noticeably softened. His body was growing limp, but he didn’t care—because Se-heon was holding him up.
“I think... it might’ve been fetal movement.”
As Tae-seo melted into the pheromones, Kang Se-heon murmured while slipping his hand under Tae-seo’s clothes. His tone wasn’t certain, likely because he hadn’t experienced it himself. But as soon as Tae-seo heard him, his eyes sparkled and turned toward his belly.
“That was fetal movement?”
He had looked it up before. Some said it felt like a fish swimming past, others like a light tap from inside. But what Tae-seo had felt didn’t exactly match any of those descriptions, so he hadn’t been sure.
“If it’s not fetal movement, let’s just say you were hungry.”
Se-heon glanced at the time and added,
“It’s past mealtime.”
“...There’s really no one else who looks after my meals like you do.”
Still wondering if it had truly been fetal movement—or nothing special at all—Tae-seo let out a small laugh. Well, so what if it wasn’t? Blessing is still inside me, and they say once the fetal movements get stronger, you won’t be able to miss them anyway.
“Where did you go, though?”
He finally asked the question that had been lingering. Se-heon didn’t answer right away, falling silent as if deep in thought. Just when Tae-seo was starting to feel awkward from the uncharacteristic pause, Se-heon pulled a stiff paper envelope from his coat.
“I picked up a wedding invitation sample.”
Tae-seo blinked and took it with both hands, dazed like he’d just received an unexpected gift. Lately, they had been preparing for the wedding in bits and pieces, and each step of the process still felt strangely new and precious.
Unable to take his eyes off it, Tae-seo turned the envelope around in his hands and then opened it, pulling out the card inside.
“I definitely picked the design myself, so why does it feel like I’m seeing it for the first—ow!”
He let out a sharp cry before he even realized what had happened. Before he could fully register the sting in his finger, Se-heon had already grabbed his hand.
A thin red line formed on his index finger, gradually deepening until a bead of blood welled up. The drop grew heavy and slid down his finger, and Tae-seo’s embarrassment grew worse. If he’d gotten cut while alone, it would’ve been fine—but under Se-heon’s gaze, it felt like his finger was being scrutinized under a microscope.
“Maybe the paper’s still too new—guess the edges are sharp.”
Still, it wasn’t exactly common to get cut by thick card stock.
“Let’s change the invitations.”
“Uh... do we have to?”
He’d been the one who got careless and got cut. Couldn’t they just keep using it? But before he could say more, Se-heon had already taken the invitation away.
The mood had been so nice just a minute ago—how did it shift so fast? Tae-seo stayed quiet as Se-heon gently cleaned the blood from his finger. He tried to ignore the creeping unease blooming in the corner of his chest.

Before Kang In-hyuk had even processed his complicated emotions, he ran into Han Mi-sun. Once he saw where she had come from, he forced his expression into something neutral. He didn’t want her to see how shaken he was after dealing with Kang Se-heon.
“Mother.”
“In-hyuk...”
The moment she saw him, Han Mi-sun could no longer hold back what she had been trying to suppress. Her face crumpled, on the verge of tears.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
“It’s just...”
As she bowed her head, unable to contain the emotions rising in her throat, her voice trembled. In-hyuk pressed her harder.
“What is it? What happened?”
He tried to meet her eyes, but she refused to lift her head, still clinging to his arm.
“Father.”
Spotting Kang Soo-hak emerging behind her, In-hyuk called out to him. But his father, with a grim expression, didn’t even look at him—just walked past and out.
Something had clearly happened while he was gone, but no one would tell him what. If only I hadn’t run into them at all. After that conversation with Se-heon, his mood had already tanked. Now it only got worse. In-hyuk angrily ruffled his hair, then froze.
“Is this about the business?”
He wondered if his parents had met with Grandfather just as he had with Se-heon. When he asked, Han Mi-sun’s sobs intensified. She dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief but still clung tightly to her son’s arm.
“Let’s go. Tell me after we leave this place.”
Gritting his teeth, In-hyuk helped her up. He didn’t want to stay here a second longer.
Driving himself, he took them to the reservoir. After shutting off the engine, he sat still, eyes fixed ahead, not even glancing at her. Though the car had stopped, the veins in his hands bulged from how hard he gripped the wheel. His jaw clenched so tightly that the muscles in his cheek stood out.
“Something went wrong with Father’s deal, didn’t it?”
“...Yeah.”
Having cried enough to calm down a little, Han Mi-sun clenched her handkerchief tightly in her lap. Normally she never let her emotions show, but now her makeup was smudged around her eyes and she didn’t even care.
“It’s only just beginning. So why are you already acting like we’ve lost?”
“Wonha made all the losses fall under your father’s name.”
“...And he still signed that?”
“Sometimes... even when you know, you accept it anyway.”
Kang In-hyuk let go of the steering wheel, slumping back into his seat. Leaning against the headrest, he stared out the window in silence. And while he sat like that, Han Mi-sun told him everything that had happened.
The more he listened, the more twisted In-hyuk’s expression became. It felt like the entire world revolved around Kang Se-heon.
The setting sun seemed to mock him. Maybe when it dipped behind the mountains, the reservoir would vanish too. And if that happened, maybe no one would ever find the version of him hiding inside those waters.
Once he started falling apart, the collapse was unstoppable. Everything he’d built up until now felt ridiculous. No matter how he pretended otherwise, he was just a child.
He’d only been able to act confident because he had a strong background behind him. When he’d harbored feelings for Seo Da-rae, he could show them freely because he believed it was okay.
But none of that was his own doing. Kang Se-heon had been the one to show him that. From the very beginning, he had been nothing. Not in the company. Not when it came to Yoon Tae-seo.
They had started from different places. When it came to Tae-seo, he moved on impulse, driven by emotions—while Se-heon was cautious, deliberate. And the moment he was sure, he acted without hesitation.
Thinking about Tae-seo made In-hyuk’s chest ache. Now, he wasn’t even in a position to jokingly confess that he liked him. Powerlessness settled over him like a heavy weight.
“Why does everything feel so empty?”
The company. Yoon Tae-seo. Kang Se-heon had taken it all. There was nothing left that was his.
He was at the point where he felt like nothing mattered anymore—like disappearing wouldn’t be so bad. That’s when he felt someone grip his hand tightly, and his head slowly turned.
It was Han Mi-sun.
“Get it together. It’s not over yet.”
Not over?
“What’s left?”
They had nothing.
“They want us to go overseas? Hah. No way in hell.”
Han Mi-sun looked in the mirror as she wiped her smudged makeup, regaining her former composure.
“I’m not backing down like this.”
“And what exactly are you going to do? No matter how hard we fight, do you really think we can bring anyone down?”
Right now, it seemed like they were up against Kang Se-heon directly—but behind him were his uncle and grandfather. None of them were people to underestimate.
“Just bringing him down isn’t enough for me. I won’t be satisfied unless we destroy him completely and take everything he has.”
Something flashed in Han Mi-sun’s eyes. Whatever thought had come to her, it made her expression turn sharp and cold.
“We’ll have to use that kid.”
“That kid? ...You don’t mean Tae-seo, do you?”
When she mentioned a name that shouldn’t be, In-hyuk looked at her with barely-contained dread, silently hoping she didn’t mean who he thought she did.
“I do. Yoon Tae-seo.”
“Why him?”
“We’ll use him as a bargaining chip.”
Her face had already started to shift, as if she were sitting at the negotiation table in her mind—faint, rare traces of a smile appeared on her lips.
“There’s no way that would work.”
“No, it will.”
Han Mi-sun ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) turned to face him.
“If Tae-seo ends up in danger, we’ll be able to get what we want.”
In-hyuk froze. He stopped breathing. And Han Mi-sun kept going, unfazed.
“Even if he’s recognized now, he’s still always walking around alone. He’ll be easy to grab. You just stay out of it. Don’t interfere—just watch.”
“What if something happens to him?”
Han Mi-sun scoffed.
“Don’t tell me you’re actually worried about Tae-seo? Yoon Tae-seo—the one who dumped you and went running to Kang Se-heon?”
She wasn’t wrong. Just moments ago, the only feelings left in In-hyuk’s chest had been betrayal and emptiness. As those emotions flared back to life, his expression shifted.
“Tell me in detail. What exactly are you planning to do to Tae-seo?”
