Chapter 393: Chapter 393 – If I stay, we would become enemies because of your...

Jacob couldn’t believe that he and his twin brother had both fallen in love with the same woman.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that Sabrina would have been his if not for what had happened during his abduction.

As he thought about the information he had gathered about Robin and Sabrina before launching his attack, Jacob couldn’t help but confront his brother. "If you love her so dearly, then why did you hurt her so much?" he asked.

Remorse flashed in Robin’s eyes as he recalled his past actions and explained,

"I see that you have done your research. You should have also known that I was deceived, and that was the reason why I was intentionally hurting her. Zayla took the credit for Sabrina saving my life."

Robin continued, "All my life, the woman I wanted to settle down with was the one who saved my life. I vowed to myself that even if I fell in love with another woman, I would only marry the one who gave me life."

"Zayla deceived me, so I forced myself to love her while I tried my best to break Sabrina because my father forced me to marry her. You have no idea how I felt when I found out the truth. I even wanted to take my life, but she was already carrying my children," Robin said with a bitter smile, tears welling up in his eyes.

Jacob expressed remorse and apologized, saying, "I’m sorry for everything I did to hurt you. Can you forgive me?" Robin smiled and stood up from his chair.

For some reason, Jacob thought Robin was dismissing him, so he stood up as well.

However, he was shocked when Robin walked around and hugged him tightly, causing Jacob to weep. The warmth from a brother was something he had never felt before, and it felt so natural that he didn’t want to let go.

"There’s nothing to apologize for. You were just as deceived as I was," Robin said in a teary voice.

Jacob was moved, and when they pulled away, they both began to laugh through tears as Robin suggested, "So, will you change your name? Jacob Jewel isn’t bad. It could be JJ for short."

Jacob laughed and liked the idea, replying, "Of course, RJ. I will change my name soon."

Robin smiled with satisfaction but then remembered something and said, "About the companies. Give me a day or two to make the arrangement for us to split everything."

Jacob forced a smile and replied, "there is nothing to split, brother. You have done a good job. I did my findings and know what our parents left for you. It was nothing compared to what my..."

Jacob paused, not knowing how to address Ethel anymore. Robin, upon seeing the puzzled look on his face, ended it for him,

"It’s okay to still call her your mother. She still took care of you like your real mother."

"She confessed to being obsessed with our father. You were the one she wanted because you looked like him but she rather ended up with me," Jacob revealed, Robin’s brows raised.

He wondered what would have happened if he had ended up with Ethel. He must have been dead by now since he couldn’t have gotten a donor. Back then, his parents searched. They were ready to pay any amount but there just wasn’t a match.

"I’m glad she took you. For her sickness and mine, we would have both been dead," Robin chuckled and Jacob laughed before going back to what he was saying before.

"Like I was saying, what my mother gave me when I turned twenty was more than what your father gave you but you have done something great and immeasurable out of it."

"Thanks for the compliment but I would have loved to have you with us," Robin said, his eyes filled with longing. The bond between them was so natural, he wanted his twin brother close.

Jacob smiled bitterly. "It’s better that I return to California with my sick mother. If I stay, we would become enemies because of your..." it was hard for Jacob to admit it but he did so eventually.

"Because of your wife. Everything happens for a reason. If we had grown up together, I’m sure that you would not have had her because I fell in love with her the moment, I saw her." freewёbnoνel.com

Robin smiled bitterly. It was difficult to accept, but he was sure that his father would never have forced him to marry Sabrina if his brother had been there.

Perhaps Jacob would have pursued her instead. "If that’s the only reason you don’t want to stay, then I won’t stop you," Robin said.

Jacob smiled and replied, "I didn’t believe it before, but I do now. You’re clearly in love with her and willing to do anything for her, even sacrificing me, your long-lost twin brother. But the truth is, I would have done the same. I’ll leave tonight."

Just as Robin was about to agree, he remembered Grandma’s request and suggested, "Can you postpone your trip until tomorrow? Our grandmother, our father’s mother, has been dying to meet you."

Jacob’s eyes lit up. "You mean the one who told you about the past? She’s still alive?"

Robin laughed. "Yes, she’s still alive. You can spend the night and bring your mother, too."

"She’s not doing well, and I don’t think she’ll be well received by our grandmother," Jacob said thoughtfully.

But Robin insisted, "If I tell grandma about your feelings for Sabrina, she’ll be glad your mother took you. I don’t think she’d have the strength to break up a fight between us."

"Hahahaha," Jacob laughed and teased, "So you’re inviting me to sleep over. Aren’t you afraid I might steal your wife? Remember, you’re not legally bound and I wouldn’t be committing a crime."

Surprisingly, Robin wasn’t upset this time and replied, "I already have it planned out. We’re getting legally married again today, but we’ll have the wedding after she gives birth to the twins."

"She’s carrying twins?" Jacob’s eyes were filled with admiration, making Robin uncomfortable.
