Chapter 82: Chapter 82 Night Patrol (2)_1

"Taking you as a disciple isn’t out of the question, but first, I need to see if you’re really suited for martial arts training." Situ Xin said this merely as a pretext. If she accepted him too easily as a disciple, she estimated it would raise suspicion. To others, whether or not one is suited for martial arts is crucial, but for Situ Xin, that was never an issue. A single elixir from her could resolve all those matters.

"Really? Then have a look at me." Liu Yuxiang, on hearing that Situ Xin was willing to take him as a disciple, was so delighted that he nearly jumped for joy.

Situ Xin had intended to just go through the motions, but as her hand touched Liu Yuxiang’s wrist, her expression instantly became serious. "Unexpectedly, this kid really is a martial arts prodigy, on par with Xiao Muli."

"Master, how is it? Can I practice martial arts?" Liu Yuxiang asked nervously.

"Not bad, I can take you as a disciple. However, let me make it clear beforehand that I am too young right now and can’t handle some matters personally, so you’ll need to take care of them for me," Situ Xin set her condition. If Liu Yuxiang didn’t agree, even if he was highly suitable for martial arts training, she wouldn’t waste her time teaching him.

"No problem, no problem at all. From now on, you’re my master," Liu Yuxiang said with an excited expression.

Xia Yujie watched as Liu Yuxiang was accepted as a disciple by Situ Xin, and he felt quite envious. But he still had his own vendetta to handle, so he just watched without saying a word.

"Miss, shall we talk here or...?" Xia Yujie saw that Situ Xin was almost done talking with Liu Yuxiang and prompted her.

"Let’s find a place that’s safe and quiet," Situ Xin suggested as she looked around, thinking that to take on Zhu Bin and Dai Licheng, they needed a solid plan. She also wanted to evaluate Xia Yujie’s actual strength.

"Master, let’s go to my house. It’s absolutely safe there," Liu Yuxiang suggested obsequiously.

Situ Xin looked at Xia Yujie, seeking his agreement. After Xia Yujie nodded, Situ Xin said, "Then let’s go."

Although it was pitch dark outside, it didn’t affect Situ Xin in the slightest; she could see the outside scene as if it were daytime.

The car stopped in a villa complex in the suburbs. "Master, we’re here. Please, get out of the car," Liu Yuxiang got out of the car eagerly and opened the door for Situ Xin, causing Xia Yujie to shake his head. Liu Yuxiang, who was usually so arrogant, had turned so subservient.

Stepping out of the car, Situ Xin looked at the two-story villa in front of her and said with an unchanged expression, "Let’s go inside."

"Xia Yujie, how many men do you have under your command right now?" Situ Xin went in and sat on the sofa, immediately getting down to business with her first question. She had checked the time as she entered the house; it was already past one in the morning. They had to make use of their time efficiently.

"About twenty or so. All trusted confidants of my father," Xia Yujie said, his heart filled with self-reproach. "It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t been so adamantly opposed to contact with the Dragon Society because of past incidents, perhaps my dad wouldn’t have met such a fate, and Zhu Bin and Dai Licheng wouldn’t dare be so brazen."

"Enough of that. Now’s not the time for self-blame. Besides, some things happen and are unavoidable; no amount of ’what-ifs’ can change the outcome. What you should be focusing on is gearing up to avenge your father and reclaim what belonged to him," Situ Xin said, and despite these words coming from the mouth of a little girl who was just 5 or 6 years old, they didn’t strike Xia Yujie or Liu Yuxiang as odd, but instead, they felt a surge of motivation.

"You’re right, Miss. Your lesson is well taken," Xia Yujie responded, his spirits lifted by Situ Xin’s words, his eyes sharpening.

Noticing his shift in demeanor, Situ Xin nodded in approval. "Good, that’s the spirit. By the way, do you know the recent activities and whereabouts of Zhu Bin and Dai Licheng? Specifically, the times they’re together—then we can take care of them both at once." Situ Xin, after all, hated complications and also wanted to prevent the risk of startling the other after taking down one of them, which could lead to the other escaping. She liked to tie up loose ends in her affairs.

Xia Yujie pondered a moment before responding, "There’s an event soon where they’ll both appear together."

"Where, and when?" Situ Xin asked straightforwardly.

Xia Yujie answered with a slightly hoarse voice, "In three days, at my father’s funeral."

"Good, that’s a suitable venue," Situ Xin said after a bit of calculation. "It’s perfect. On that day, you can take down the men who killed your father right in front of him. This will let him rest in peace."

"Yes," Xia Yujie, feeling sadder when thinking of his father, became much more somber.

"Also, in the next few days, get in touch with those twenty men. On that day, Zhu Bin and Dai Licheng will definitely bring their own followers, and they are likely to have planted their own people in hiding—firstly, to prevent anyone from making a move against them, and secondly, I believe they’re planning to capture you. As long as they can’t get their hands on you, they won’t be able to rest easy," Situ Xin continued before pausing. Liu Yuxiang promptly offered her a glass of juice. "Thank you," Situ Xin said, taking a sip to moisten her throat, but after one taste, she frowned, thinking to herself, "This is awful."

"What’s wrong, Master? Doesn’t it taste good? But it’s fresh juice I made tonight," Liu Yuxiang noticed Situ Xin frowning and realized she disliked the drink. Situ Xin was spoiled by the fruit juices made from fruits in her special space; now that she had to drink any of these freshly squeezed juices from outside, it was hard for her to swallow.

"It’s okay. Let’s continue. Since they want to capture you, then you should go to your father’s funeral unapologetically with your men. At that time, I’ll be hidden nearby to help you, to control any hidden forces. You’ll just need to deal with Dai Licheng and Zhu Bin, along with a few of their close confidants," Situ Xin outlined the plan succinctly.

"I heard that Dai Licheng and Zhu Bin have experts with them, and they all have guns. Can Ah Jie handle them?" Liu Yuxiang voiced his concern.

"I’m not afraid. I’m prepared to die with them if that’s what it takes," Xia Yujie stated determinedly, ready to face his death if it meant dragging them down with him.
