The Reborn Aristocrat's Daughter-Chapter 91 Task(1)_1
Chapter 91: Chapter 91 Task(1)_1
"Then hurry up," Situ Xin glanced at her wristwatch and frowned slightly as she spoke.
Using the stone in her hand, Situ Xin removed the dumb acupoints for those men one by one. After witnessing her skill, Xia Yujie’s subordinates were thoroughly convinced—especially Uncle Luo and Xiao Hei, whose faces could hardly conceal their excitement. Indeed, which of these underworld figures did not harbor a heroic dream? The techniques that Situ Xin had used were only seen by them in television shows and novels.
Situ Xin saw everyone looking at her with admiration and was taken aback for a moment, "What are you staring at? Get back to work. Remember, anyone who refuses to pledge loyalty to Dragon Society should be dealt with immediately." Situ Xin calculated the time in her mind—she had to rush back to school soon.
The captives were no fools; they had brains and didn’t wish to die young. Under these circumstances, they all bowed to Dragon Society, swearing loyalty.
After Situ Xin had released everyone’s pressure points, she turned to Xia Yujie, who was about to speak to her, "Okay, I’m running out of time—have Liu Yuxiang take me back to school. And give me your mobile phone so we can stay in touch. As for the rest, I’ll call you, and we can talk then. What you need to do now is sort out Dragon Society. Although these people have pledged loyalty, there might be some followers of Zhu Bin and Dai Licheng mixed in."
Without waiting for Xia Yujie to respond, Situ Xin directly called out to Liu Yuxiang, "Liu Yuxiang, take me back to school."
Coming off the car and seeing that school had not yet let out, Situ Xin felt slightly relieved. However, as she was about to reach her classroom, someone called out to her, "Xiao Xin."
Hearing her name, Situ Xin froze. "Bad, I’ve been discovered," she thought as she slowly turned around. Seeing Xiao Muli not far behind her, she felt slightly relieved. "Phew, luckily, her brother isn’t here."
"Brother Muli, why are you here?" Situ Xin asked ingratiatingly.
Xiao Muli, however, ignored her question and approached her, removing the cap from her head. "What’s with this disguise? Where have you been?" frowned Xiao Muli. He had felt that Situ Xin had been acting out of character for a few days. That day, when he had stepped out of class to use the restroom, he saw a young girl who looked very much like Situ Xin holding the hand of a young man in his twenties, heading for the school gate. He hadn’t seen her face, so he wasn’t sure it was her, but his instincts told him it was Situ Xin.
Acting on impulse, he didn’t mention it to Situ Jin or Yu Qihao; instead, he went out of his way to check Situ Xin’s classroom and found her absent. So, he found an excuse to wait at the school gate for Situ Xin.
With that said, Situ Xin realized she had forgotten to change back into her clothes. "Oh no. Brother Muli, I need to go change," she exclaimed.
Exiting the restroom, Situ Xin prayed that Xiao Muli had already left, but as soon as she stepped out, she saw him waiting. Instantly, her spirits deflated.
Xiao Muli saw Situ Xin’s pitiful look and couldn’t bear it. He touched her hair gently, "Okay, I won’t tell anyone about this, including your brother."
Hearing Xiao Muli’s words, Situ Xin’s face lit up with surprise, "Really?"
"Yes, really. And I won’t pry into what you did this time, but from now on when you go out, you have to take me with you, otherwise..." Before Xiao Muli could finish, Situ Xin’s head drooped again.
"Alright, alright, I get it," sighed Situ Xin, secretly cursing her bad luck, while also craftily thinking that she would try her best to avoid going out during the day.
After resolving the issue with Xia Yujie, Situ Xin was quite happy, as it meant she could soon have a force of her own. Although it wasn’t very strong yet, she believed that with her efforts and training, they could become a significant force for her in the future.
But before she could revel in her contentment, the oppressive atmosphere at home startled her. In the Situ Family living room, Old Master Situ, Old Master Loo, and Old Master Xiao, each had a grim expression.
Alongside them sat Situ Haoran, Situ Haotian, and Xiao Muli, all without any particular expression.
Since Situ Xin hadn’t heard anything about Cai Meijuan’s plans through the listening device, and she had focused all her time and energy on Xia Yujie’s matter, she had neglected the household affairs. However, she remembered that morning before leaving for school, both Old Master Situ and Old Madam had been in good spirits—she couldn’t understand what had changed in just one day.
Upon entering the house, Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao all felt the heavy atmosphere, although they didn’t ask, they consciously knew something was amiss.
"Baby’s back," Old Master Situ and the others showed a slight relaxation in their expressions upon seeing Situ Xin’s return and even managed a bit of a smile.
"Yes, grandpa, grandma, grandfather, Grandpa Xiao, uncle, Uncle Xiao, dad, I’m back," Situ Xin acted as if she hadn’t noticed anything amiss, smiling and running to Old Madam Situ to coo over her. While snuggling up to Old Madam Situ, she caught a glimpse of a piece of folded paper on the coffee table, and if she wasn’t mistaken, it was a mission assignment notice.
Although she couldn’t make out the specific contents since it was folded, Situ Xin knew, judging by everyone’s expressions, it was surely a hot potato.
But before Situ Xin could inquire further, Old Master Situ began issuing orders for the younger ones to leave the room. "Jin, take your sister, along with Muli and Qihao, upstairs to do homework."
Although Situ Xin was reluctant to leave, because she wanted to know what was happening, she knew the older generation’s intentions. Since she grew up and became sensible, Old Master Situ hadn’t allowed her to eavesdrop anymore. She knew the older generation wanted their children to have a happier childhood, without being exposed too soon to such troublesome matters.
