The Second Son of the Marquis Wants to Laze Around-Chapter 108: Seraphina Wulfhart (1)
Chapter 108: Seraphina Wulfhart (1)
...
...
Three minutes later...
The proud female fox now had her head lowered in utter defeat. Her once fiery demeanor had crumbled after enduring over a hundred light smacks to the head from the human boy. And no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t understand—how could a weak-looking human like him smack the evil aura out of her body so easily? Just with a slap!?
Every time she tried to intimidate him—unleashing her ominous dark aura, flooding the air with malicious killing intent—he’d smack her. Casually. Like he was swatting away a fly.
Sure, his smacks didn’t physically hurt her. Her stats were way higher than his, after all. But for some reason... it still stung. Deeply. Not in her body, but in her pride.
It was emotionally painful.
"Are you going to shout at me again?" Eren asked, his tone cool and unbothered as he stared down at her with lifeless eyes.
With her head still lowered, the fox woman let out a cry—not in her usual deep, ominous voice that rumbled like a cursed stormcloud, but in a normal, almost feminine voice.
"...What do you want!?" she shouted, eyes glaring red and glistening with tears forming in the corners. She bit her lower lip in frustration, humiliated beyond belief.
But when she kept glaring at him, still defiant, Eren raised his hand again without hesitation, his expression dull and devoid of emotion—ready for another smack.
"Okay, okay! I’ll stop! Just stop hitting me!!" she panicked and cried out in desperation, finally waving her metaphorical white flag.
Useless, the floating system screen, remained utterly still beside Eren, its expression matching its master’s. Blank. Unimpressed. Unmoved. After all, it had long given up trying to feel surprised by Eren’s weird antics.
"I’m going to ask you some questions," Eren said calmly, brushing dust off his sleeve as if he hadn’t just slapped a demon woman into submission. "You will answer honestly. No nonsense. Got it?"
The female fox nodded quickly, eyes narrowing in compliance. But deep inside, her thoughts weren’t so obedient.
’Answer my ass. Just wait until I get out of these damn chains...’
"First question," Eren began, arms crossed. "Who are you?"
The fox woman let out a low, dramatic chuckle, as if regaining a bit of her pride.
"Fufufufu... Me? I am the greatest, most feared being in all of Valoria—the one who commands the demon race! The great Demon Lord—!"
—Smack!
"I said no nonsense," Eren replied coldly, delivering another unceremonious smack across her head. This one was firm. Not painful, but enough to make her eyes water again.
"I wasn’t talking nonsense!! I AM the Demon Lord!!" she shrieked, tears in her eyes as her pride took yet another blow.
Eren stared at her with the same dull, unimpressed expression. His deadpan gaze only infuriated her more.
But before she could raise her voice again—
"If you’re really the Demon Lord," Eren interrupted, tilting his head, "then why are you trapped and sealed in here like some forgotten monster in a side quest dungeon?"
Her face froze.
A bead of sweat trickled down her forehead.
"W-Well... that’s because I was tricked!" she stammered, looking away in panic as she tried to spin a believable tale. "Y-Yeah! tricked and lied! I was tricked into coming here by my enemies and—"
"Name: Seraphina Wulfhart," Eren cut her off sharply.
Her breath caught in her throat.
Her yellow eyes widened in disbelief.
Because that was her real name.
"A former Demon Lord who ruled the Demon Lands for over seventy years," Eren continued as he held up his handheld game console, casually reading aloud from her in-game character profile.
----
Displayed on the screen:
Seraphina Wulfhart — The Dark Sovereign –The Tyrant Heretic.
She was a rare hybrid: half wolf, half fox. A unique mix of demonic beast blood and pure demon lineage. That explained her fox-like aura and beastly presence. In the lore of Valoria Legends, she was a hybrid anomaly. A powerful one.
A Level 7 Awakener with access to a terrifying arsenal of spells—primarily dark and fire magic. Or more precisely, destruction and curse magic.
A warrior. A survivor. A trickster. A genius. Capable of wielding multiple weapons, though her preferred combat style was bare fists, claws, and brutal close-range magic.
In gameplay terms, she was a flexible boss-type character: high DPS and a strong debuffer.

Background:
Born of cursed blood beneath a moonless sky, Seraphina Wulfhart was the forbidden child of a highborn Demon Wolf general. Abandoned as an infant and cast into the wilderness, she was hunted from the moment she drew breath. From the age of seven, she survived alone—hunted by beasts and demon alike.
Raised by no one, hardened by the savage borderlands, she clawed her way to power with nothing but strength, cunning, and sheer will. At age twelve, she entered the Demon Lord Trials—a blood-soaked rite of succession meant only for the strongest adult demons. Despite being the youngest contestant by decades, she defeated twenty rival candidates in brutal single combat... and emerged victorious.
Crowned as Demon Lord, she ruled for seventy years. Under her reign, the fractured demon factions were united. Those who denied her rule bowed eventually—or burned. Her ferocity, her unique fusion of beast-born rage and demon sorcery, made her nearly unstoppable.
She became a legend.
But power breeds envy.
In her 71st year, her closest subordinates, generals and blood relatives plotted her downfall. Framed for blasphemy and rebellion, she was ambushed in her own throne room. Though she slaughtered thousands in a blaze of fury, she was eventually subdued, chained in runes, and sealed in an artificial dungeon.
Her body, trapped. Her soul, bound.
Three hundred years passed. Her name faded into myth. New Demon Lord rose. And the world forgot the flame that once ruled the abyss.

Eren kept reading.
"As for her personality..." he muttered.
Prideful & Commanding — walks like she still owns the world, and fully believes she will again. Her pride is both her weapon and her weakness.
"Although the profile calls it prideful, I call it arrogant," Eren remarked.
Vengeful, but Patient — Time means nothing to her. Her fury is slow, cold, and methodical—more like a chess master than a berserker.
"She’s smart... but clearly not smart enough to realize her own people were planning to betray her," he added, with a shrug.
Mischievous & Manipulative — a silver tongue sharpened by her fox heritage. She speaks in layers, traps her enemies with words, and toys with minds like a puppeteer.
"A scheming fox girl, huh? Yeah, she doesn’t give off that vibe. Probably the wolf part that makes her so haughty," Eren murmured.
Coward at her Core — beneath all the rage and pride, what she fears most is helplessness. Silence. Being unseen. The trauma from childhood runs deep.
Eren didn’t comment on that one. He simply glanced back at her—still kneeling, still humiliated—then turned back to the console.
Broken Loyalty — Once, she trusted others. But after being betrayed by her people, that trust shattered. She no longer believes in anyone.
Next came the section of her likes & dislikes.
Eren read aloud without hesitation.
"You like black roses, lava baths, silence, sleeping, food, praise, being worshipped, etc etc etc."
Then he scroll to the next section and continued.
"And you dislike betrayal, being underestimated, looked down on, touched, humiliated, used, controlled, lied to, working, and...."
The more Eren read from her in-game profile information, the more Seraphina’s face turned red with flustered embarrassment. Her eyes widened, lips parted, and her breath caught in her throat. She could barely handle the humiliation of having her secrets exposed like this—especially by a human.
She glared up at him with teary eyes and bit her lip in frustration, her heart pounding with disbelief. ’How does this human know so much about me?’ she thought, confused and irritated.
Then she noticed the small black object in his hands. It was foreign to her—a rectangular device with a glowing screen and buttons. She didn’t recognize it at all. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously.
’Is that... some kind of magic artifact? One that reads my background information?’ she wondered.
"Hm?" Eren’s voice cut through her thoughts. "You even dislike water and getting wet. Rarely bathe. No wonder you smell like shit."
The blunt comment landed like a slap.
Seraphina’s entire face burned a deeper red—whether from fury or shame, even she couldn’t tell. Probably both.
"That also explains why all the monsters I’ve encountered here were ugly and smelled terrible," Eren muttered thoughtfully, his eyes narrowing as he theorized. "Maybe the dungeon’s monsters reflect your personality and character. Rotten, smelly, and twisted."
Of course, that was just his personal guess based on the game’s mechanics and the dungeon’s behavior, but he said it with enough conviction to make her want to scream.
"I do not smell—!" Seraphina snapped, but her voice caught mid-sentence. She couldn’t even bring herself to finish the words. The humiliation was too much. Her fists clenched, nails digging into her palms as the weight of insult and shame crushed her pride beneath his words.
Eren, unfazed, finished reading her character data and casually slid the game console back into his system inventory. He didn’t care that he’d revealed its existence to her.
Then he turned to her and asked, tone calm and casual, "So, is it true? Did your people really cheated you?"
Seraphina froze at the word—cheated.
For a moment, she was silent, confused. Then her eyes narrowed, and she frowned deeply.
How dare he twist it like that?
She turned her face away, jaw clenched. "It wasn’t cheating," she muttered under her breath. "They just... turned their backs on me."
Her chest tightened as old memories surfaced—painful, bitter ones. "After everything I gave them... they called me a monster." freewёbnoνel.com
She tried to mask her pain behind a cold, uncaring expression, but Eren could still see through it. Her eyes betrayed the storm she was trying to bury.
Eren tilted his head, brows slightly furrowed in honest confusion. "But you Are a Monster. a Demon."
—Twitch.
A vein popped on Seraphina’s temple.
"And turning their backs on you is exactly the same as cheating," Eren continued, pressing on without a hint of delicacy. "So yeah, they cheated you. Then threw you in here."
More veins appeared as Seraphina’s fury boiled over. She couldn’t take much more.
