The Sweetness of the Seventies-Chapter 973 - 942: A Sincere Confession
Chapter 973: Chapter 942: A Sincere Confession
Soon after, the flight attendant came by to remind everyone to fasten their seat belts as the plane was about to take off.
Only then did Tang Qian and Qi Zhengmin part, their eyes reflecting only each other. Being so close to Qi Zhengmin allowed him to observe her features and expressions more carefully.
"Still sleepy?" Tang Qian asked with a light chuckle, admitting to himself that he was enchanted by this woman.
Qi Zhengmin’s smile blossomed like a flower as she said, "Not sleepy anymore. What about you?"
"I’m not sleepy either," Tang Qian replied. "Aren’t you going to ask why I’m on the plane with you?"
Qi Zhengmin raised her eyebrows, her eyes brimming with luster as she said, "I know the reason. Why should I ask?"
"Oh?" Tang Qian looked at the beauty before him. "Well, I want to know the reason!"
"Heh, if you don’t know, how would I know!" Qi Zhengmin rolled her eyes, teasing him, but was met with a question in return. "Alright, I’m going to doze off for a while."
"Go ahead, sleep," Tang Qian said with a smile, feeling like they were equals, matching each other wit for wit.
He had met his match indeed.
Qi Zhengmin fell asleep rather quickly; now that she had relaxed, she dozed off in no time, her head unwittingly leaning on Tang Qian’s shoulder.
Tang Qian gazed at Qi Zhengmin’s long eyelashes, her pronounced nose, and fair cheeks, and couldn’t help but be captivated.
When Qi Zhengmin woke up, it was just in time for the meal.
"I’m so hungry," she rubbed her stomach. "Aren’t you hungry?"
"I’m very hungry too," Tang Qian smiled, his eyes holding a hint of ambiguity, leaving it unclear if it was his stomach that was hungry, or something else.
The airplane food, though not very tasty, was enough to fill their stomachs.
After eating, Qi Zhengmin took out a piece of mint candy and popped it into her mouth to freshen her breath.
"Don’t want one?" Qi Zhengmin asked.
"Thank you." Tang Qian smiled, took one, and ate it too.
After having the candy, Tang Qian turned to look at Qi Zhengmin.
"By the way, what are you actually doing abroad?" Qi Zhengmin asked. "I don’t believe it’s just for me."
Tang Qian forced a smile; in fact, he went just for Qi Zhengmin—why else would he go to a place where he didn’t know anyone! Besides, he studied Russian and didn’t understand a word of English. Going abroad would make him feel like a mute.
"How do you know it’s not for you?" Tang Qian countered, looking intently at Qi Zhengmin.
"Hehe," Qi Zhengmin giggled. "Don’t look at me with such eyes; I might take you seriously."
"I am serious," Tang Qian caught Qi Zhengmin’s hand. "Aren’t you?"
"Erm..." Qi Zhengmin hesitated. This was exactly why she was reluctant to develop a different kind of affection for Tang Qian, or any of the outstanding men back in China.
Without rhyme or reason, it would lead to vows of eternal love.
The crux was that those vows were like mirages within a mirage.
"You’re not serious?" Tang Qian’s expression darkened. He narrowed his eyes and gripped Qi Zhengmin’s hand more tightly.
"Okay, I’m serious too," Qi Zhengmin conceded. On the plane, she didn’t want to provoke this temperamental man.
He was good-looking, sure, but he had a temperamental streak.
"You feel forced?" Tang Qian asked, a surge of anger brewing inside him.
"Not at all!" Qi Zhengmin laughed and kissed his cheek. "You’re overthinking it."
Hopefully, he was overthinking it.
They first flew to Paris.
"I haven’t been to Paris, can you show me around?" asked Tang Qian, who enjoyed walking the foreign streets with his companion.
Qi Zhengmin calculated the time and said, "Alright, we have three days to explore Paris, I’ll take you around. By the way, do you need to take photos as souvenirs?"
"Of course," Tang Qian nodded, wanting to capture the best memories of his prime.
So, Qi Zhengmin and Tang Qian toured the famous places in Paris—the Louvre Museum, Palace of Versailles, Seine River, Eiffel Tower, and also tried a lot of the local food.
Although he wasn’t used to some of it, the taste was still quite good, occasionally tolerable.
In the camera, rolls of film with many photos were treasured by Tang Qian.
Not long after, Qi Zhengmin and Tang Qian stood at the rendezvous in New York.
Over these days, Tang Qian had learned twenty English phrases, enough for him to go out, eat, and shop.
"The hotel has already been booked for you," Qi Zhengmin said, "Rest well, tomorrow we’ll go to the car show together."
Tang Qian felt somewhat downhearted and asked, "Aren’t you going to invite me to stay at your place?"
"Uhh..." Qi Zhengmin hesitated, "It seems we haven’t reached the point of meeting parents... I only take my future husband to meet my parents..."
Future husband?
Introducing the future husband to parents?
Did it mean he wasn’t considered as a potential husband?
Was he merely a flirtation?
"You..." Tang Qian got upset, his eyes reddening, "I am serious about being with you with marriage in mind, it’s not just for fun..."
"Calm down, calm down," urged Qi Zhengmin quickly, "You haven’t formally confessed to me, I thought you were also enjoying this kind of thrill?"
Tang Qian took a few deep breaths to resist the urge to strangle Qi Zhengmin.
"Fine, I’ll confess," Tang Qian forced a bitter smile, "Qi Zhengmin, I like you, may I pursue you?"
After thinking it over, Qi Zhengmin nodded and said, "Yes!"
Hearing this, Tang Qian smiled.
Sincerity could break through even the hardest barrier.
Now that he was together with Qi Zhengmin, he didn’t insist on going back to Qi Zhengmin’s place any longer. Tang Qian would visit the Qi Family the day after tomorrow, on Sunday.
Early the next day, the two of them attended the car show, saw many exquisite car models, as well as numerous models.
"Do they look good?" Qi Zhengmin asked with a teasing smile, as Tang Qian had been busily snapping photos, but it was unclear if he was photographing the cars or the models next to them.
"They look good!" Tang Qian answered without hesitation.
"Hmph!" Qi Zhengmin glared at him, noticing he had become steady-legged at the sight of beautiful women.
Tang Qian was startled to see Qi Zhengmin get mad, and quickly explained, "I meant the cars, not the people next to them. If you don’t believe me, we can check when the photos are developed. I really was photographing the cars."
"Whatever you say," Qi Zhengmin responded, feeling somewhat placated, yet still stubborn.
"Hehe, you’re jealous, that’s good," Tang Qian said thick-skinned, proof that Qi Zhengmin cared about him.
The two joked and teased each other, occasionally engaging in affectionate behavior.
That evening, after a candlelit dinner, they strolled along the beautifully appointed street.
"May I visit your house tomorrow?" Tang Qian asked. Coming here also had this purpose, to make his presence known in front of Qi Zhengmin’s parents.
Qi Zhengmin thought for a moment and said, "You can come over, tomorrow my Dad and Mom will be at home."
