Something was wrong with Caishen, Alix could tell because he was much more quiet than usual. He had been that way since he came home, all through dinner and now, in the bedroom when they were preparing to go to sleep.

She had been holding it in for as long as she could but if she let it go on any longer, she was afraid that whatever the problem was, it would spill over into their relationship. So, she waited for him to get into bed and then she slowly brought herself into his arms, one legs over his thighs and her head on his chest.

Normally, he would comment or push her aside but he didn’t even try tonight, which sort of alarmed her.

She sat up and then pulled his body up as well and helped him lean against the headboard.

He was about to say something but she leaned down and put a finger over his lips. She needed to say what was on her mind before losing her courage because she was going to push a boundary. "I know something is wrong with you and I don’t want to be a pushy wife but you cannot go to be bed without letting whatever it is off your chest."

He tried to move the finger away but she shook her head and removed to move it.

"I know, I know, you are the silent moody type that can handle all of his problems by himself but things are different now. You have me. You have a wife and one of the advantages of being married is sharing each other’s problems.

You have seen the wall in the music room with detailed information and pictures of shareholders of Lin Power holdings and you have listened to my plans to take the company from my father or destroy it. You don’t know how much I have appreciated having your ear to talk to all this about. Now, I want to do the same for you.

Even if I can’t help you there is no harm in just listening to you talk about it."

He tried to remove her finger again and this time round, succeeded.

She sat with her legs crossed and gestured at him. "Lay it on me hubby. What troubles you?"

"I brought you flowers but forgot to send them." He said. It had been a big day for her and as her husband he had fallen short in his duties.

He had shared the pictures the chairman of TFK had shared with his father and elder Ren at her school.

That was not the response she was expecting. There was no way that forgetting to send her flowers was the reason he was this moody. The man was tense and all of his muscles were strained.

"I am not holding that against you. I know that you are a busy man and you probably have a lot of work to do after such a long holiday. But flowers cannot be the problem here. What is it hubby?" She placed a hand on his chest and looked at him.

He sighed and shook his head just so slightly. Sooner or later she would know so he might as well tell her. He looked at her and said slowly, "It’s my father, he is alive."

She gasped, took her hand off his chest and covered her mouth with that very hand. Her eyes were round in shock.

"Your father....isn’t he dead? How?"

In her mind, she heard the blue elf snickering. "You are such a good actress. You have known for weeks, stop pretending."

She was lucky he couldn’t hear it because the silly thing would reveal her secrets. She only knew because she was curious about the pictures he was hiding.

She had taken a little peek and the system had done the rest, initiating an identity digging mission all on its own and it shared its findings with her.

"He survived the plane crush, lost his memories, got married and had another child." He told her.

"Aah, the murderous brother." She thought.

She lowered the hand which was covering her mouth and she shook her head. "Crazy, this is crazy. It would be great news if he didn’t have extraordinary baggage attached to him.

Jeez!!! What are you going to do? Mother, does she know?"

He shook his head with a frown on his face which had turned his mouth upside down. "I don’t know how any of us is going to handle the situation. That’s why I am brooding silently as you put it. Grandfather is determined to bring him back home, which is right because he is our father and his son. But that means his other son will also be coming and so will that woman, Tong Na Na. That’s her name."

"Does mother know?" She asked him.

He nodded and again, Alix gasped. She wanted to ask so many questions like how she knew and what she planned to do about the other woman. But, she didn’t want to make it seem like she was just fishing for gossip.

So she calmed herself and told him, "Hubby, we will handle it when they come. Right now, all we can do is overthink, worry and anticipate which is not a good thing. This problem is like a storm. When a storm comes, you must double down and face it head on or hide and wait for the sun. But if you hide without preparing, the things you value will be swept away.

That Na Na or her son, whatever comes, we will face it. I will break all of their bones if it’s what I must do to protect you."

He laughed. She was speaking so passionately with one of her fists in the air as she gave him encouragement. If only the problem could be solved simply with physical strength as she indicated, everything would be much simpler. But, his mother seemed like she was going to try and make her marriage work.

She would do anything possible to push Na Na out.

But would Na Na willingly step aside without a fuss?

"Comfort me, I am sad, weary and troubled." He held his hands open and told her.

"How?" She asked him.

He moved his eyes around from side to side as he thought. A little humming sound came from his throat.

"Mmmm."

Finally, he said, "A massage. Climb across my chest and massage my head. I didn’t take Baby to work and I had a headache."

"Yes Lord Zhang." She responded.

He raised his eyebrows and laughed. Didn’t she mock him for telling her to call him that?

Carefully she swung one leg across his body and hovered over his crotch. It was the only way to massage his head from this position.

"Do I sit or not?" She asked herself.

She peeked at his face and saw that his eyes were closed but he was smiling, amused. He was clearly laughing at her.

"Aah, this sly man." She thought. She chose not to sit and she raised her hands and placed them on his temples.

"Tell me about your day." He told her. "Leave out nothing, I want to know about everything which made you smile."
