To His Hell and Back-Chapter 218: When The Fire Is Too Close-I
Chapter 218: When The Fire Is Too Close-I
Cassius was right. Things doesn’t add up. Was Morpheus also one of those sorcerer who had came to despise their witch’s action and then gained his power to go against the said witch? Why did he helped the humans so much to the point he was willing to be cursed and bound to Versailles forever despite hating to be bound to it his entire life?
"But Cassius," she whispered with a frown, "It doesn’t make sense does it? If it’s true that Morpheus needed a witch to marry, why not someone else? Why not my mother or someone else? Ariel is with him isn’t she? Then he could have chosen her as well, it wouldn’t be impossible if he does that since Ariel seems to be willing in coming with him... Why does it have to be me?"
Cassius leaned back and she could see his thoughts swirling inside his head. It wasn’t that he didn’t know the answer but he does and yet not wanting to say it out loud as if he was peeved by the idea itself.
"He spoke about a few things while he cross swords against me," he said and looked at her, "He said about something regarding how you were born. Like the stars and whatnot, like how you’re special. Perhaps though you and Ariel shares the same blood, the way you’re born or perhaps your own power is different. It’s normal for one egg to taste better than the rest of the hatch."
Feeling as though they had tapped into the surface of the informations yet not close enough to ever get close to the bottom, Arabella could only frown and ponder on the informations that had been found. So far, all of Cassius’s theory seemed to be close to the truth with little to almost none that was out of place.
Regardless she couldn’t help but wonder if this was real... if there was really a power inside her.
Cassius could see Arabella’s eyes swirling as she stared at her own palms.
"Since I must be a witch," she said to him, turning her face slightly, "Does that mean I don’t have to make potions to use my power?"
"Most probably," Cassius himself had seen the body of the maid she had killed, Nora. The way the body was petrified in fear meant that Arabella’s power must be something that was close to mental manipulation but so far he couldn’t make sure of it as her power comes abruptly.
"Is there a way for me to try and use my power?" Arabella looked at the scrolls and books and then back at him, "Nothing at all?"
"So far there is nothing written about the "how to use magical power" but there were a few things written about witches other than the fact that they have made a contract with demon and is efficient with curses."
Her eyes eagerly glittered as she inched closer to him, "And what is that?"
Cassius’s red eyes were serious but the moment she had came closer, his gaze couldn’t help but fall to her pink lips that were moist than to her frail neck that was so thin and felt so perfect to hold.
Sometimes Cassius didn’t know what he wanted to do with Arabella. Seeing her cry was interesting and even at times could arouse him. Yet at the same time, he didn’t want her to cry and sobs with sadness. He didn’t want her to look at him with that panicked gaze or feel her small shoulders trembling. He didn’t want to be the cause for all that negative tears of hers and he didn’t want to hurt her, despising the fact that someone ever tried to touch her that would hurt even the slightest hair on her.
Yet... there were times such as this.
When the fireplace near them crackle loudly in a hiss and the warmth that spread on the room became hot enough for his skin to tingle.
He didn’t want to hurt her. He didn’t want to.
But his fangs ache in taking a bite down her pale skin, to make those blossomed kiss marks over her neck and down her plump chest. He wanted to hold her waist, to tighten his grasp and shove her closer to him.
He wanted to feel her warmth, the heat, and deep into her.
At times he even wishes he could tighten his hands slightly around her neck, not to choke her out of air but to pin her down and see her rile up. He wanted to taste her, claim her even, not in violence, but in something far more primal.
Wouldn’t it be so stimulating to see her cry or bite his body in exchange? She wasn’t one to just lay down and cry, perhaps he would even scratch his back, peel his skin under her fingernails, make him wince but all still pleasurable nonetheless.
"Cassius?" She asked, frowning as his sight wasn’t anywhere focused over her.
He didn’t seem to be present in the conversation as if he had fallen into a daze. What’s wrong with him? She waved her hands, frowning, wondering if all those lack of sleep was finally catching up. According to Renard Vampires tend to sleep less but that doesn’t mean they don’t need sleep at all and they could even fall tired or ill from lack of sleep.
Searching for all those documents regarding her must have taken days of sleepless night.
Just then Cassius’s head plopped on her shoulders.
Before she could react, his arms tighten around her waist, pulling her closer as he slowly sunk his nose deep at the crux of her neck. The sweet smell of Arabella wafted into his nose like a calming sachet of all the wonderful smelling flowers in the world. But tonight that scent hadn’t only brought him a calming sensation, rather, something like a heat that build up in him.
"Fuck," he cursed and Arabella’s green eyes widened while her body stiffen.
She didn’t know why but the nasal curse that slipped from Cassius’s mouth felt like a hard slap that caused her heart to yelp and beat three times faster than ever.
