Chapter 79: Chapter 79:Classes [3]
Looking to the right and towards the elevated seats, I could see some familiar faces as both Liam and his sister, Charlotte, were sitting down on the first row of chairs.
Beside Charlotte were the same clique of girls as yesterday, and next to Liam was Xero, whose gaze instantly locked onto me with a face that said, "Don’t you dare sit here."
Each row had a total of three sections with three seats each: front middle, front right, front left, and so on, for each of the following two rows.
Sighing, I shook my head and scaled the stairs up until I was in the second row on the right section and sat down.
This was the reason I had come early instead of taking the time to enjoy my meal in the dining hall.
On the right wall, and the right wall only, there were windows.
However, as mentioned earlier, the classrooms were placed on the inside of the building, so the magnificent Glavie Academy campus wasn’t visible through these windows.
Instead, right in the middle of the first-year academic building was a decently sized square-shaped natural area that resembled a makeshift park.
With trees, benches, free snacks, and tons of grass for students to sit on, it was the perfect place for students to relax during free periods or between classes.
While the width and length of the space were relatively small, the park’s height was insane, having over three different floors, each resembling a different natural environment.
If someone looked at the building from above, they would see a massive square-shaped hole in the middle of the structure, where the park stood.
The building’s layout from the top resembled a square-shaped "o."
Above the final floor of the park, there wasn’t even a window, so the natural sunlight from the sun passed through completely, lighting up the different park floors.
However, this wasn’t just any park; it was a magical park.
Somehow, despite the park’s final floor being closest to the sun, the sunlight was spread out equally, as the lowest floor, farthest from the sun, received the same light as the final one.
The entire park, besides the trees and natural things, was also made of thin glass, so if you were standing on the third floor, you could look down and see the second and first floors.
Sighing, I placed my hand on the window and stared out at the second floor of the park, which was made to resemble a rainforest.
If I opened the window right now, I could literally jump down less than a foot and land on the glass floor of the rainforest.
Hopefully, this view could make this class somewhat interesting.
As time passed and the clock reached 7:50, countless more students rushed in, filling the second and third rows.
No one knew my name yet, besides Liam, who hadn’t said anything, so I didn’t have to deal with any questions about yesterday’s events.
Turning my head to the right and looking up through the glass, where the third floor of the park stood, I admired the hilly area.
Students with free periods lounged against the small hills with the sun shining down on them while napping or reading.
At that moment, the sliding door opened once again, drawing my attention, and a familiar face appeared in front.
And then...another, and another.
Zeke walked inside, instantly halting and blocking the door while scanning the classroom for some time.
Finally, his gaze paused on me with a smile, and we made brief eye contact for a moment before he walked over to Liam and Xero.
Next, Mira walked through the door, her eyes half-closed and looking at the ground like some sort of Zombie.
It seemed the aftermath of using her abilities so much yesterday had hit her.
Near the end of the book, the backlash from using her ability became so severe that she started to lose her memory.
Thankfully, though, the only side effects right now seemed to be exhaustion and a headache.
Without even looking at the classroom, she let out a heavy sigh before taking a seat in the front right section of the classroom, beside two girls I didn’t recognize.
At that moment, drawing my attention away from the door, a sudden voice sounded from beside me.
"Is anyone sitting here?"
Shaking my head, I watched another unrecognizable male figure sit down at the edge of my section, leaving a chair between us.
Glancing around the classroom, I could see no more edge or window seats available in any of the sections.
The remaining students would have to take the middle seat and sit awkwardly between two people they didn’t know.

As the sound of someone scaling the right staircase entered my ears, I placed my elbow on the desk, rested my head against my palm, and discreetly looked right.
And there, passing by the front row, was the last familiar figure.
Her snow-white hair flickered across my vision for a second before disappearing.
Evangel.
Pretend you don’t know her.
Pretend you don’t know her.
Pretend you don’t know her.
Not hiding my face, I simply took a deep breath and tried to stare past her at the empty stage where the teacher would soon be.

*THUMP-THUMP*
*STEP*
*THUMP-THUMP*
*STEP*
With every fleeting second, the sound of her steps got closer and closer, syncing with the sound of my heartbeat.
While my heart beat as if I were running a marathon, I watched as the sliding door slid open one last time, revealing the remaining students.
*STEP*
As she took the step upward onto the second set of rows, I involuntarily closed my eyes, waiting for that next stepping sound.
The second middle row was filled, so she had two choices.
Enter the second right row, or continue upward to the third row.
And, just when I opened my eyes, an awaited sound echoed.
*STEP*
As I took a deep breath in, for whatever reason, a sudden voice echoed from my left.
"There’s a seat open here, by the way!"
