Transmigrated Into the World of Magic and Swords-Chapter 59: Kids, Don’t Be Afraid
Chapter 59: Kids, Don’t Be Afraid
"Damn kid, I will beat you to death!" after saying that, Theo rushed toward Ren.
But when Ren was about to dash toward Theo, a red-haired man suddenly appeared in front of Ren and kicked Theo’s face hard.
Boom!
Theo was thrown into mid-air before finally crashing against walls.
"You should be ashamed of yourself for attacking children." The red-haired man named Sam stated.
Theo did not dare attack Ren anymore when he saw Sam because he knew who Sam was.
Sam turned around and asked, "Kid, are you alright?"
"We are fine. Thank you, uncle." Ren responded.
Actually, Ren did not need Sam’s help because he noticed that Theo was not a martial artist, so it should be easy to defeat Theo.
Sam shifted his gaze from Ren to Scarlett.
’Hmm? She is trembling continuously.’
He walked toward Theo’s shop before finally putting many breads into a plastic bag.
"Kids, I’m hungry and coincidently, I have a lot of breads." Sam spoke and paused for a second before he continued, "Do you want to eat some breads with me?"
"Yes." Ren accepted immediately.
The trio then sat on a public seating.
"Here, eat it." Sam gave a loaf of bread to Ren and Scarlett.
The duo was starving, so they consumed the bread immediately.
When Sam saw Scarlett eating quickly, he spoke, "Eat slowly. Don’t worry. I still have many breads."
Scarlett looked at Sam before finally eating slower.
"Kids, where are your parents? Why did they leave you in this place alone?" Sam asked curiously.
"We are orphans." Ren answered.
"Oh, orphans? Then why didn’t you return to your orphanage when you were hungry?" Sam threw another question at them.
"Bad people attacked our orphanage this morning, so we could not go back." Ren said their orphanage had fallen into their hands, so going back was the same as digging their own graves.
"I see." Sam uttered, "Oh, it’s already 01:00 pm. Sorry kids, but I need to go now."
"Where are you going, uncle?" Ren asked curiously.
"I need to meet my business partners." Sam responded as he rose to his feet. "You can take all the breads. Goodbye, kids."
"Thank you, uncle." Ren stood up and bowed his head slightly.
’We have a lot of food now.’
His heart throbbed with happiness when he saw a large plastic bag containing loaves of bread.
"Ren, I’m full. Let’s look for an abandoned house again." The bread was big, so one bread was enough to make her full.
"Alright." Ren responded.
The duo then looked for an abandoned house again.
However, they did not find an abandoned house like before.
They had looked in many places, yet the results were the same as if the world hated them so much.
"Ren, I’m tired. Let’s rest for ten minutes." Scarlett uttered.
"Let’s rest under that big tree." Ren said as he pointed his left index finger toward a huge tree several meters from them.
"Un." Scarlett agreed instantly.
As the duo was sitting under a tree, a voice suddenly rang out.
"Ah, you are right, brother Sam. They are high-quality kids." A grown man named Logan said as he approached Ren and Scarlett with a smile on his face. "It would be a waste to force them to become beggars. I believe selling them will give us more profit."
"Didn’t I say so?" Sam responded before finally smiling at Ren and Scarlett. "Hello, kids. We meet again."
Ren grabbed his sword and rose to his feet.
’Isn’t he the uncle from before?’
His behavior toward Sam changed drastically.
He even had his guard up because Sam was with Logan, someone who wanted to kidnap and sell them.
’Why is he with him?’
A question popped up in his mind.
’Wait.’
He suddenly realized something.
’Don’t tell me. He only pretended to be a good person earlier?’
He held his sword firmer as he stared at Sam.
What he guessed was right.
Sam helped them from Theo because he wanted to know their identities, not because he was a good person.
Ren and Scarlett asked for food like beggars, yet their clothes were not dirty or full of holes like beggars’ clothes.
Ren even had a good sword and could easily send Theo flying with his kick.
It should be challenging for someone as young as him to send Theo flying with only a kick because Theo had a big body.
This was the reason why Sam pretended to be a good person and help them because he did not want to mistakenly kidnap someone from a martial arts family.
"Ren..." Scarlett hid behind Ren and wore a terrified face.
They almost got kidnapped by an evil organization several hours ago, so her body trembled continuously when Logan said he wanted to kidnap and sell them. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"Don’t be afraid. I will protect you." Ren unsheathed his sword and was ready to fight them.
Even though his opponent was two people, there was no sign of fear in his eyes. Sofia had entrusted Scarlett into his hands so he would protect her no matter what happened.
Even if he had to face the whole world, he would still protect her because he was a man of his word.
Once he made a promise, he would keep it until he died.
"Brother, that sword is of high quality. I’m sure it can be sold at a high price too." Sam had been eyeing Ren’s sword since he saw Ren for the first time.
The thought of having it even crossed his mind.
However, he pushed that thought away immediately because having a good sword could put him in danger.
After all, martial artists would do anything for the sake of getting an amazing sword like Ren’s sword.
"Haha. You are right, brother Sam." Logan laughed happily. "It seems like we will get a lot of money later."
"Kids, come and follow us. We will give you a place to live later." Sam still acted like a nice person as if he did not want to kidnap and sell them.
"That’s right. We will also give you a lot of food later." Logan added.
Of course, the duo was lying because they ran an evil business.
Their business was similar to the Dusk organization’s business.
The difference was that they only sold high-quality kids like Ren and Scarlett.
As for children of ordinary or low quality, Sam and Logan would force them to become beggars and ask for money in crowded places.
Of course, all the money would go to them.
The kids were their slaves, so their job was to earn money for them, not for themselves.
"Kid, don’t be afraid. We won’t hurt you." Sam approached them as he smiled softly.
"Scarlett, close your eyes and don’t open it until I say so." Ren did not want Scarlett to see terrifying things again, so he told her to close her eyes.
Scarlett did what she was told without thinking twice.
Even though there were two bad people before her, she still closed her eyes because she believed Ren would protect her.
"Brother Sam, don’t injure them. Just knock them out gently." Their price would go down if their bodies were injured, so Logan asked Sam to be gentle.
"I know." Sam walked toward Ren, ready to knock him out.
