Chapter 99: Magical Beasts

Ren was currently standing in front of his house.

His hands were on his hips, and he nodded his head in satisfaction.

His house was big and luxurious, so a feeling of satisfaction enveloped his heart when he saw his house up close.

’I hope this house can give me happiness every day.’

The furniture left by the previous owner was still in good condition, so he could live in his new house immediately.

When Ren was about to enter his house, Scarlett’s voice rang from behind him.

"Ren..." the receptionist said Ren had left the Gentle Star Hotel, so she went straight to his house.

"Hmm? What is that?" he asked curiously when he saw a shopping bag in her right hand.

"Fruit and vegetable plant seeds." She answered.

Ren suddenly remembered their discussion in the private room.

At that time, they agreed to plant fruits and vegetables in his backyard because they wanted to create a comfortable house like their home in the illusion world.

"Then shall we plant it right away?" he uttered.

"Un." She nodded her head happily.

Then, the duo headed to the backyard to plant fruit and vegetable seeds.

Verneau Town, Town Square.

Verneau town had become a place for magical beasts. All the citizens and adventures caught by them became their toys.

There was no sign of sympathy or pity on their faces when they were toying with them because magical beasts hated humans to the bone.

Some magical beasts were currently playing a game of throwing axes. They tied a man they captured to a cross and put a stone on his head.

After that, they would stand five meters from him and throw the axe, trying to destroy the stone.

A 3-star panther named Zhulcac was currently about to throw his axe.

Zhulcac was not in his real form.

He was in his demi-human form.

He looked like a mature man with panther’s ears on his head and a panther’s tail on his back.

Magical beasts could transform into human with skills or magic and Zhulcac used Transformation skill to turn himself into human.

"Ah, shit! My axe didn’t hit the target!" Zhulcac shouted when his axe landed on the face of the blue-haired man, killing him instantly.

"Hahaha! General Zhulcac, you suck at axe-throwing games!"

"It’s fine, General Zhulcac. We still have many toys."

"That’s right. We still have one hundred toys, so you can try again if you want to."

"General Zhulcac, you are good at using your fists, but you are bad at throwing. Haha."

"General Zhulcac, do you want me to teach you how to throw an axe? Haha."

His subordinates laughed when his axe landed on the face of the blue-haired man.

Zhulcac was not angry when his subordinates made fun of him; instead, he laughed happily as if it was something to be proud of.

"Haha. It seems like my stance is wrong. Let me try again." Zhulcac was not satisfied, so he wanted to play again.

All the humans in the cage were terrified when the two wolves approached them because their lives would be over if they were chosen as the next toy.

"Who should be the next toy?" a white wolf grinned as he looked at them.

All the humans in the cage walked backward, trying to put some distance between them.

’Please don’t choose me. Please don’t choose me.’

The fear in their hearts grew bigger when the white wolf looked at them, causing their bodies to tremble uncontrollably.

"You! You will be the next target." the white wolf said as he pointed his finger at the green-haired man.

"No! Please, don’t choose me! Please! I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die." The green-haired man tried to free himself when the black wolf dragged him out of the cage.

However, his efforts were in vain because he was only an Elite rank warrior.

Zhulcac’s subordinates cheered again.

They wanted to see blood, so they were excited when the next target was tied to a cross.

"No! Please don’t kill me. Please don’t kill me." The green-haired man kept begging for his life to be spared, but the magical beasts ignored his pleas.

Some of them even laughed at him because he looked like a loser.

"General Zhulcac, don’t make the same mistake. Throw your axe properly this time. Haha."

"That’s right, General Zhulcac. Look at that human! He is peeing in his pants, so you must throw your axe properly this time. Haha."

"Damn! That human is peeing in his pants! Is he a kid?"

"Haha."

Some magical beasts made fun of the green-haired man for peeing in his pants because he was already an adult.

"Hey, human. Don’t be afraid. I’m sure my axe will land on the stone this time." Zhulcac uttered.

Of course, he would aim for the green-haired man’s face because that was where the fun was.

When Zhulcac was about to throw his axe, a black dragon flew toward them.

Its wings were huge, and its red eyes were as terrifying as blazing fire.

’Hmm?’

The dragon slowly descended from the sky.

Just as the black dragon was about to land on the ground, its body transformed into that of a human.

There were two ways for magical beasts to transform into humans.

The first method was by using magic or skills, and the second way was through their bloodline.

When magical beasts broke through to 7-star, their bodies and bloodlines would change into a more perfect form.

In other words, they would evolve.

The descendants of 7-star magical beasts had a few benefits, such as being smarter, having stronger bodies, and being able to change into human form whenever they wanted.

Normally, only magical beasts at 3-star and above could gain intelligence and speak human language.

However, it was a different story for the descendants of 7-star magical beasts.

The descendants of 7-star magical beasts were smarter, so they could already speak human language even when they were still at 1-star.

The black dragon, who had just arrived at Verneau Town, was a descendant of a 7-star magical beast, so he could transform into a human whenever he wanted.

Zhulcac and his subordinates stopped what they were doing and greeted the black dragon.

"Welcome back, young master Julzreon." They said in unison.

Julzreon stopped his footsteps when he caught sight of the green-haired man. "Hmm? Are you guys playing a game?"

"That’s right, young master Julzreon." Zhulcac responded, "We were playing a game called the axe-throwing game."

Julzreon shifted his gaze from Zhulcac to the corpses next to the green-haired man. "It looks like a fun game."

"Do you want to try it, young master Julzreon?" Zhulcac inquired.

"Sure." Julzreon took the axe. "I only need to throw the axe at the stone on top of that human’s head, right?"

"That’s right, young master Julzreon." Zhulcac responded.

"Then, let me try it." Julzreon uttered.

Tears of fear appeared in the eyes of the green-haired man when he saw Julzreon grinning evilly.

He knew what Julzreon was going to do because it was written on his face.

"No! No! Please don’t kill me. Please don’t ki-" before the green-haired man had finished his words, his head was separated from his body, flying into the air along with the cross.

"I failed to hit the target? This game is harder than it looks." Of course, Julzreon did not miss his target because he aimed for the green-haired man’s neck from the start.

Like Zhulcac and his subordinates, he also hated humans.

No!

Saying he hated humans was not completely right.

He came from the dragon race, one of the races at the top of the hierarchy, so he saw human as his playthings.

The owner could do anything to the toys, including killing them.

That was why he killed the green-haired man because the green-haired man was his toy.

"Alright. You guys just continue the game. I want to go to the main hall now." After saying that, Julzreon walked toward the building several meters from the town square.

When he was in front of the main hall, two maids welcomed him.

Like Julzreon, they were 3-star magical beasts.

However, they were not from the dragon race like him because the black-haired maid was from the cat race while the pink-haired maid was from the fox race.

The name of the cat girl was Zysho, while the name of the fox girl was Vestele.

"Welcome back, young master." Zysho and Vestele greeted him in unison.

"Did anything important happen while I was away?" Julzreon asked as he stepped into the main hall.

"No, young master." Zysho responded.

Shortly after Julzreon sat on his throne, a 3-star Jaguar entered the main hall.

Like Julzreon and the others, he was in his demi-human form.

His name was Feyrith, one of the twelve generals under Julzreon.

After he was in front of Julzreon, he knelt down on one knee and spoke, "I received a report letter from General Rathal, young master."

"General Rathal? What is it?" Julzreon inquired.

"It’s about the situation in Nightshire City, young master." Feyrith began to explain the contents of the report.

Rathal informed them that everything went smoothly.

He managed to infiltrate and become a subordinate of one of the four big families.

He also mentioned about Ren who had just become a citizen of Nightshire City. He said Ren was a dangerous person and he needed to be eliminated immediately.

"Ren?" Julzreon was shocked by the report.

"He was from this town, young master." Feyrith responded, "He ran away to Nightshire City when we attacked this town."

"Oh? Then, why did General Rathal say he was dangerous?" Julzreon inquired.
