Transmigration: Getting Rich with My Space and Supplies-Chapter 218 - 204: Forgot to Mention One Thing
Chapter 218: Chapter 204: Forgot to Mention One Thing
The two arrived at the town.
Rong Yan glanced around and then asked, "Do you know where there’s a house?"
"Sweetheart, I’ll tell you in a bit. Right now, I’m taking you to a place."
Qin Ye’s words piqued Rong Yan’s curiosity.
However, she didn’t say much and just sat in the backseat, watching where Qin Ye was taking her.
They rode along, and ten minutes later, Qin Ye stopped his bicycle in front of a courtyard.
"Sweetheart, we’re here."
Rong Yan hopped off the backseat, taking in her surroundings, and noticed that the neighboring houses were somewhat distant. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
This place was on the edge of the town.
"Whose house is this?"
Qin Ye didn’t answer her question but instead turned his head and asked, "Sweetheart, what do you think about this place?"
Rong Yan had already checked out the location, so her eyes fell on the appearance and size of the courtyard in front of her—it was very large.
"This place is nice."
Clearly, Qin Ye was very happy and satisfied with her response.
He took out a set of keys from his pocket, then walked over and unlocked the door.
Rong Yan: ...?
Qin Ye turned around, "Sweetheart, go ahead in! I’ll explain after you enter."
Rong Yan could actually detect a hint of the apprehension of someone who’s made a mistake in his voice.
This was a bit strange.
But she didn’t show it on her face and instead stepped into the courtyard.
Qin Ye, on the other hand, pushed the bicycle in, then after parking it, turned around to close the big gate, securing the bolt.
"Sweetheart, let’s go inside and talk." He gestured towards the house with his hand.
Perhaps because it hadn’t been cleaned for years, the house was full of spider webs and lots of dust.
Qin Ye grabbed a broom and swiped around a bit.
Then he turned to look at his wife, his face filled with apologetic guilt, "Sweetheart, I forgot to tell you something... please don’t be angry."
Rong Yan met his cautious gaze, her eyebrows lifting slightly, "Are you trying to tell me this house is yours?"
Qin Ye nodded, "Yes, my dad bought this house back then. He wanted to move us out of Qin Family Village and live here. It’s just that... he didn’t expect..."
His tone grew heavier.
"After my dad passed away, we didn’t have jobs in the town and couldn’t survive. No matter what, Qin Family Village was better, so this house has been left empty all this time. The Qin Family folks don’t even know we have a house here in town."
If his wife hadn’t brought up renting a place in town, he really wouldn’t have remembered this.
Rong Yan: ...
"Your dad was impressive!"
Hearing this, Qin Ye immediately corrected her, "Our dad."
Rong Yan: ...
Alright!
She indeed had to call him ’dad’ too.
"Then this place is pretty good for storage."
Qin Ye looked at her, "Sweetheart, I didn’t tell you this before... you’re not mad, are you?"
Rong Yan rolled her eyes, "Why would that make me mad? Or do you really see me as someone that gets angry and makes unreasonable scenes?"
Upon hearing this, Qin Ye became anxious, "No, I didn’t... my wife is the best..."
Seeing his unusually panicked appearance, Rong Yan couldn’t help but let out a chuckle, "Alright, just kidding. Does this place need to be cleaned up?"
Qin Ye relaxed a bit after seeing her smile, "Sweetheart, I’ll do the cleaning. You can wait outside for a while; I’ll be quick. Maybe, you can take a ride around town on the bicycle."
Rong Yan thought for a moment and then nodded, "I’ll take a spin around town and come back later."
Qin Ye immediately said, "Be careful then."
He went out to help push the bicycle out and only returned to the courtyard to start cleaning after watching his wife ride off into the distance.
He made quick work of cleaning up the house since it was unoccupied...
Meanwhile, Rong Yan rode her bike to the post office first.
She said to the clerk behind the window, "Hello, I’d like to send a letter. Could you give me an envelope and a stamp, please?"
The clerk looked up at her, "Envelopes are 2 cents, stamps are 3 cents, local delivery is 4 cents, out-of-town is 8 cents."
Rong Yan immediately said, "I’m sending it out of town. Could you please give me ten envelopes and ten stamps?"
She would still need to write letters in the future, and these things could be stored. "Next time, I can just write the address at home."
The clerk seemed surprised that she wanted so many but still gave her ten envelopes and ten stamps.
"That’ll be 58 cents total."
Rong Yan had small change on her and counted out exactly 58 cents.
She had her own pen and didn’t need to borrow one, so she wrote the newspaper’s submission address on the envelope.
After sealing it, she dropped it off for delivery.
As for the result, Rong Yan wasn’t in a hurry.
After leaving the post office, she visited a supply and marketing cooperative, bought some items, and then returned to the courtyard.
By this time, Qin Ye was slightly dirty from the work. When he saw his wife coming back, he immediately went to greet her, "You’re back so soon?"
Rong Yan glanced at him, "How are things over here? Nearly done? Shall I help clean..."
Qin Ye hurried to refuse when he heard she wanted to help, "No need, I’m almost finished here. See that room? There’s a cellar underneath I’ve already cleaned, and we can store things there."
Rong Yan was somewhat surprised to hear about the cellar but then frowned a little.
"Won’t it be more troublesome and tiring for you to move things up and down? Just lock the keys for this place well; I doubt anyone will come."
Qin Ye was worried about storing things here while not living on the premises, fearing theft.
There were plenty of delinquents in town.
"It’s not a problem, nor is it tiring, I’m fine. The cellar is a bit safer."
Seeing that he insisted, Rong Yan let it be.
"All right."
Qin Ye spoke up quickly again, "Sweetheart, I just fumigated the place, and the smell hasn’t dissipated yet. If you want to store something, put it inside the house for now. We can move it to the cellar later, once it’s been treated properly."
"Sure." Rong Yan had no objections since what he said made sense.
A long-neglected cellar definitely couldn’t be used right away.
"Then I’ll finish up the last bit." The courtyard had five rooms in total and a small kitchen. It was quite spacious overall.
He had only cleaned four rooms so far; one was left untouched.
And since they wouldn’t be needing it, he had no intention of cleaning the kitchen.
Rong Yan nodded, then headed to the room with the cellar, and from Space Supermarket, she bought many bags of rice and flour.
Other life necessities didn’t make sense to buy. Only these two kinds of grains were suitable, along with instant noodles.
When Qin Ye came over after finishing his cleaning, he was shocked, "Sweetheart, so much?"
