Chapter 116: If something like this were to happen one more time... frёeωebɳovel.com

"Even if this was all an act to get me to depend on them, I wouldn’t care because I’ve already had my fair share of thrill and enjoyment. At least, this is way better than having to run for the rest of my life for a debt from loans I never took."

My words were well said, if I do say so myself. Now, what can this bastard say to me that will hurt me? Nothing. He should just give up and get ready to be tamed by me.

I bent down and started picking up the books.

"Hyung, please let him go." I said, picking up the books one after the other. "It won’t do any of us any good to start a fight and mess up the library."

I got up, looking at their titles and putting them in their respective places.

Ki-hoon took a moment to think this through before letting Seo-Jun go.

"I understand your confusion, but if you want to understand how I was able to change things," I said to Seo-Jun. "Then watch. Just watch me, and maybe then you’ll understand. But if you still don’t understand," I shook my head. "Then I’m sorry because I can’t do anything else that will help you understand.*

Seo-Jun picked up the last book on the floor, scoffed, placed it on the shelf, and said, addressing all of us.

"Then I guess you’ll be seeing more of my face from now on." He dusted his shirt, straightening it and then smirked. "You better watch your back." He said and left.

Was that a threat? It sure sounded like one.

As soon as he was gone, I was able to breathe out comfortably and even fell back, certain that someone would catch me, and Min-Cheol did.

"Hyung." He called pitifully, and I smiled.

"Thank you, little Min."

"Jo-Pil," Ki-hoon called, and I turned to him after standing to my feet. "Are you really going to allow him to lurk around you?"

"I can’t do anything about it."

Though I would very much like to toss him back his money, I felt it wouldn’t end there because this house might be under his name.

I didn’t know it, but it was a hunch. For him to have this library built here, it was only fair to assume he had been living here before the plot of buying me came up.

"Don’t worry," I smiled to reassure them. "I’ll be careful from now on."

I had to be very careful going forward if I didn’t want him to harm me. He was very unpredictable.

"Then, Hyung, allow me to accompany you," Min-Cheol said, and I paused.

What did that mean?

"Jo-Pil, at least one of us has to be by your side. There’s no telling what Seo-Jun would do once he caught you alone. He already..." He bit his lip, probably reminiscing about the scene he just saw.

Seeing us kissing might’ve traumatized him somehow, and it wasn’t just him. The others didn’t like it either.

"If something like this were to happen one more time, I don’t think I’ll be able to hold back my punches." Ki-hoon confessed.

Okay, stop it. Stop, stop right there. I understand they care for me and all... But what was with this super clinginess?

It was starting to get on my skin.

It was as if they would die or something if they didn’t see me for a day. It was getting too much.

They were like puppies who couldn’t leave their owner for a second. Thinking about it, I chuckled.

My chuckle was so light and soft that it got their hearts thumping. Well, I was sure of it because their gaze had softened.

"I’m fine." I said, smiling softly, and patted Ki-hoon’s cheek. "I can’t promise that I can handle myself and that I won’t ever cross paths with Master Sun, but... Please trust me. I... I don’t plan on getting hurt anymore."

I was already suffering from aching muscles just from the little stunt I pulled.

It was best to stay out of harm’s way and out of Seo-Jun’s face, but I had to show him. I have to show him that I was more than a slave, why the other masters had fallen for me.

He could already tell I was being pretentious, but not all my actions were for the purpose of deceit. I meant some and treasured them as well.

There’s nothing more I would wish for in this world than to live in peace.

"Then, shall we do something else to feel secure?" Jin-Yeok suggested, and we all turned to him. "I believe this way, we won’t worry about Jo-Pil even if we’re away from the mansion."

I blinked my eyes, wondering what he was planning to suggest. And that solution he talked about happened to be security cameras.

It did surprise me that in this big mansion, there were no security cameras. But that was fixed now. Yet, I wasn’t satisfied because they happened to put security cameras in my room and bathroom as well.

I sat on the couch, hugging my knees and pouting my lips. They had officially stripped me of my privacy.

"Don’t be like this, Hyung." Min-Cheol said, kneeling in front of me, but I wouldn’t respond.

I understand that they’re worried and strict measures need to be taken so they can evidence against Seo-Jun, but why did they have to put the cameras in my bedroom and my bathroom?

If they wanted to peek at me every moment, they could just say so. No need to lie that they were doing it to be cautious of Seo-Jun.

Just put the cameras in front of my door. You’ll be able to see if he’s planning to enter my room. Do they think he can suddenly enter my room without the cameras catching him?

This was too much.

"Hyung," Min-Cheol called once more, rubbing his face over my leg, and I pursed my lips.

What was he doing?

"Hyung, don’t be like this." He mumbled, and my heart skipped.

From that angle, he looked like a helpless puppy. Just look at those puppy eyes. Ah, my heart. He was attacking my heart, this sly kid.

"Little Min, what are you doing?" I asked, shading my eyes by looking away. "Don’t you..." My eyes roamed around the wall as if searching for something, but I just wanted to avoid his eyes. My heart couldn’t take it. "...have something to do right now?"
