Ultimate Cash System-Chapter 67: Power Of Stardom.
Chapter 67: Power Of Stardom.
The helicopter that was carrying Lukas and the security head landed in a public heliport, which Lukas then paid $500 for with a card for using it’s service.
As soon as he landed, Lukas saw a taxi ready to take him anywhere. The security head also went inside with Lukas and told the driver to drive towards the Four Seasons Hotel. The hotel was not on the route to the stadium, and the roads were mostly empty.
" That was scary." Unexpectedly, the most manly man Lukas has seen so far in this new life, the security head, said this.
"So you also feel scared?" Lukas asked, relaxed and seated in the rear seat of the car.
" Of course, I am not a madman who doesn’t have fear, I just know how to tame it in the right moment." The security head said with a smile, he was seated in the front passenger seat with the driver beside him.
" I am very surprised, actually, the people reacted like this," Lukas said. He never expected people would be this emotionally invested in him.
" Well, no one expected it. If there were not extra guards with the mayor and MLB vice president, we would have been screwed.
" C... Can I add something?" Suddenly the driver of the taxi spoke up, he looked nervous and a little conflicted.
"Talk," the security head said. He looked calm, but in reality, he was actually very vigilant. He can’t answer to higher-ups if something happens to Lukas.
" Well, I was also in the rally. We got so emotional after you suddenly got attacked that my wife was the first one to join the rally then I also did. Are you okay, really?" The taxi driver asked while he looked at Lukas while turning his neck.
" Please, while driving, keep your eyes on the road. I am very much fine, that was just a publicity stunt," Lukas replied. He calmed the driver.
" Thank God."
" Drive a little fast, take that short alley. I’ve booked the room in advance so we can go from the back," the security head said. He was not taking any chances.
"Can I go back to college? That will be easy for me," Lukas said. He wanted to attend tomorrow’s class.
" If I were you, I would not step inside the university premises until I have hired a bodyguard," the security head said. He was very concerned about this boy who was the same age as his son and looked clueless about almost everything.
" I will actually take your advice and won’t return," Lukas said, because he remembered how people already reacted to his performance back in the college practice game.
" Freshen up. I will buy some clothes for you. Your parents will come later, and then you have to meet the upper echelons, but things have changed with you being dramatically famous all of a sudden." The security head said he had to take the whole Philadelphia team to the secret restaurant.
As they were talking, Lukas could see a huge garden-like circle in the middle of the road.
" This place is called Logan Circle, that right there is your hotel." The security head pointed at a hotel from afar and then gestured for the driver to go from the back.
Lukas looked at the hotel. This hotel was not bad at all, it looked as exotic as the hotel he was staying in before.
The taxi drove forward and took a left and arrived at the back entrance. Lukas looked at the security head because he didn’t have any cash on him.
" Wait here, I will fetch cash from the counter, give one of your checks, and don’t show your face," the security head said, and then, taking the $20,000 check, left the taxi and went inside.
As Lukas was waiting inside the taxi, the taxi was blocking the back entrance road, so he heard many honks, but he was not allowed to show his face, and if something like that happens again, he was also a little scared to face that alone.
" Sir, do I move the cab?" The driver asked, he was also getting irritated getting honked at.
" No, just wait here," Lukas said. He said this because he saw a security guard of the hotel was coming towards the taxi.
" Yes, sir." The taxi driver didn’t ask any questions and just followed what Lukas said.
*Knock-Knock*
The security guard knocked on the driver’s window as if to yell at him. Lukas slowly rolled down his window. The security guard, seeing a response, came closer to Lukas’s window.
Lukas didn’t roll down the window fully, but the security guard, seeing Lukas, his eyes lit up with joy.
" Shhh! Alright, Don’t yell, I just need a small favor from you. I need just five more minutes here," Lukas requested. He was not certain if this person would start yelling.
"Consider it done, sir." The security guard replied with a Marine salute, then went back to the car that was honking at Lukas’s taxi and rerouted it, then came back toward Lukas’s car.
Lukas smiled at him and extended his hand to shake the security guard. The security guard teared up and very gently shook his hand in return.
"Sir, you are very kind," the security guard said.
" I am actually not. Here, take this as a thank-you gift and don’t tell anyone." Lukas gave the man his $30,000 check because this man looked like his father from the past life who worked hard for the family.
" Sir, this?" The security guard could not believe what he was seeing.
" Take it, consider it a gift from me to your family," Lukas said, then saw the security head rushing in.
"Alright, go, or otherwise he will yell at me." Saying this, Lukas rolled back the window.
" Here, take this $500. Thank you for taking us here on short notice," the security head said while opening the front passenger door and giving the driver money.
"What are you saying? I didn’t go this fast because of money, call me again when Lukas needs an emergency ride," the driver said, and then Lukas had to get out because this man was not taking money at all.
Lukas even said that he would pay more, but he straight up refused to take any money and went his way.
