Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 816: If You Don’t See Me, I’ll Blow You Up
Chapter 816: Chapter 816: If You Don’t See Me, I’ll Blow You Up
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan were both curious now that the car had broken down here; what exactly was Xiang Yu looking for?
When they heard Xiang Yu say he was looking for a gas station, the two suddenly realized that the car wasn’t broken—it had simply run out of fuel, and none of them had noticed. It was a rather silly oversight.
Unable to find a gas station, the group first pushed the car to the side of the road. Xiang Yu finally flagged down a taxi.
The taxi driver, thinking he was getting a fare, pulled up beside them.
"Hey, buddy, I need to borrow something," Xiang Yu said, walking over and pulling the driver out.
When the driver saw Tie Zhuzi’s imposing figure, he couldn’t help but think to himself, "I’m doomed; I’ve run into robbers today."
"I only have 300 yuan on me. You can take it all," the driver said fearfully.
Xiang Yu ignored him. Meanwhile, Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan busied themselves siphoning fuel from the taxi’s tank into their own car.
It wasn’t until the driver realized they only wanted the fuel that he heaved a sigh of relief. Once everything was sorted out, Xiang Yu handed the driver 300 yuan before setting off again.
The four arrived in the city. Mi Hui spoke hesitantly, "I only know he’s at a place called ’Number Eight Mansion,’ which is an entertainment venue."
Xiang Yu and his group searched the area but found no leads. By now, it was already five in the afternoon. They picked a random place to sit down and eat. Just then, the television was airing local news.
"Once again, we’re a step too late," Xiang Yu muttered.
The TV was broadcasting a murder case, and the location? It was none other than Number Eight Mansion.
"Bro, like this, we’re never going to keep up with them. Their intelligence network is far superior to ours," Xiao Xuan reminded.
By now, Mi Hui had completely lost hope. He sighed, "It looks like none of the people who escaped are going to make it."
"Boss, bring me another bowl of noodles!" Tie Zhuzi shouted. With Xiang Yu around, he wasn’t inclined to use his brain.
Xiang Yu nodded at his seat and remarked thoughtfully, "These noodles are pretty good. Bring me another bowl too."
Mi Hui thought Xiang Yu had come up with a new plan, but hearing his words made him so angry he almost lashed out. However, being a scholarly man, he suppressed his anger and continued eating.
"Next city," Xiang Yu said calmly after finishing his meal.
By now, Mi Hui didn’t hold out any hope anymore. Based on their numbers, searching for someone in a big city was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Even if they spent a year searching, the target might have already been killed.
In the car, Xiang Yu called Shi Jian.
"Check what kind of underground forces are active in ** City and see if you can find their contact information," Xiang Yu said.
Even though Xiang Yu didn’t have influence in this area, there were still some connections between underground circles, and obtaining contact info wouldn’t be too hard.
About five minutes later, Shi Jian called back.
"There’s a group called Wanxin Corporation in that area. Their background is similar to ours—they used to run in underground circles but have since gone legit. However, they’re still involved in shady activities behind the scenes," Shi Jian explained.
After explaining, Shi Jian provided Xiang Yu with their contact information.
Xiang Yu immediately dialed the number on his phone. A sweet voice answered, soothing to the ear.
"Hello, this is Wanxin Corporation. How may we assist you?"
From the front seat, Tie Zhuzi heard the voice and immediately reacted, turning to Xiao Xuan and saying, "I bet the person answering is a pretty little lady."
Xiao Xuan said nothing but thought to himself, with such a sweet voice, she must surely have stunning looks to match.
"I need to speak to your boss. Get him on the phone," Xiang Yu said bluntly.
"May I ask who you are? What’s this about? If it’s urgent, I can pass on a message," the woman replied sweetly.
"Your chairman is about to die. Get your boss on the line. If there’s a delay, you’ll be the one to blame," Xiang Yu bluffed.
Hearing her chairman was about to be in trouble, the woman immediately panicked. "Please hold on; I’ll transfer you to our general manager right away," she said hastily.
Sitting beside Xiang Yu, Mi Hui finally asked puzzled, "How do you know their chairman is about to die?"
"Because if they don’t pick up, we’re heading over there to take him out ourselves," Xiang Yu replied calmly.
Mi Hui: "..."
Less than two minutes later, Xiang Yu’s phone rang again.
"Who are you?" a deep, authoritative voice asked, clearly that of someone accustomed to power.
"I want to propose a business deal. It’s best if we meet in person," Xiang Yu said calmly.
Hearing Xiang Yu’s young voice, the man snorted coldly. "You’d better not be fooling with us. If I find out you’re playing games, you know what the consequences will be."
"I don’t know about the consequences. I do know that if you don’t meet me, I’ll blow up your corporate headquarters," Xiang Yu replied casually.
"Who the hell are you? What do you want?" the man asked angrily.
"Cut the crap—are we meeting or not?" Xiang Yu said impatiently.
"If you want to meet me, come to Wanxin Corporation’s headquarters. I’ll be waiting in the top-floor office," the man said, hanging up without further ado.
By this time, Tie Zhuzi was driving the car into the city. He turned back excitedly to Xiang Yu and said, "Brother Yu, your bluffing skills are getting better and better."
The talk about blowing up the headquarters was obviously made up.
Sitting in the same vehicle, Mi Hui was beginning to get a feel for the personalities of the other three. They were oddballs, completely out of sync with mainstream society, and did everything according to their own whims.
Xiang Yu, in particular, never played his cards by the rules. You could never guess his next move. Perhaps he didn’t even plan ahead, Mi Hui thought to himself.
Wanxin Tower was easy to spot; it was the most dazzling building in the city, glittering gold from the outside.
Arriving at the base of the building, Mi Hui felt a bit uneasy. Xiang Yu had made some bold claims earlier, and Mi Hui had no idea how he’d make good on them. For all he knew, they could walk in and get beaten up.
But since the others were heading inside, Mi Hui didn’t feel safe staying in the car alone, so he followed them in.
None of the four were stopped as they entered and took the elevator straight to the top floor.
Throughout the ride, Mi Hui kept whispering to Tie Zhuzi.
"If it really comes down to a fight, you need to protect me, alright? I’m old and frail—just a few hits and I’ll fall apart."
From Mi Hui’s perspective, Tie Zhuzi seemed the most physically capable of the group. Naturally, he was asking for his protection.
When they reached the top floor and stepped out of the elevator, the atmosphere felt immediately tense; the hallways were already lined with people...
