Chapter 897: Chapter 897: Safely Leaving the Police Station

Although this was happening in the police station, Xiang Yu showed no fear. At worst, he’d be locked up for a few days, but he genuinely didn’t believe any prison out there could truly hold him.

After all, the persona he was playing now wasn’t exactly a good guy, so whether he got detained or not didn’t really matter to him.

The two police officers were close cronies of Chief Huang. The moment Chief Huang gave them a look earlier, they knew exactly what he wanted—teach this guy a lesson.

In Chief Huang’s view, Xiang Yu was colluding with Gao Zhitao. Since he couldn’t touch Gao Zhitao, he could only vent his anger on Xiang Yu.

The two officers relished this kind of opportunity. Shouting loudly, they both charged at Xiang Yu.

Even though Xiang Yu was chained to a chair, he stood up, lifting the chair along with him, and slammed it violently toward one of the officers.

The officer never expected Xiang Yu to actually fight back. He tried to dodge, but it was too late.

The wooden chair smashed brutally into the officer’s body, breaking apart on impact. The scene resembled something straight out of a martial arts movie.

However, in reality, scenes like this could indeed happen. It was just that, in this case, the chair’s quality was... pretty crappy.

The officer collapsed to the ground, unable to get back up. Meanwhile, Xiang Yu’s hands were now free, though they were still accessorized with two shiny, golden chains.

The other officer, seeing his colleague knocked unconscious, flew into a rage and let out a roar as he kicked toward Xiang Yu.

It was obvious this kick contained all the officer’s might, so much so that his own stance became unsteady.

Xiang Yu simply sidestepped, dodging the attack, and seized the opportunity to deliver a swift kick to the officer’s leg.

Thrown off balance, the officer toppled to the ground, and Xiang Yu followed up with a powerful punch to the officer’s chest. A resounding "bang" echoed as the officer hit the floor.

That officer also passed out cold.

Glancing at his own fist, Xiang Yu sighed, shaking his head. For some reason, his strength seemed to be getting stronger, almost hard to control.

Xiang Yu rummaged through their belongings, found the keys, and unlocked his cuffs, finally regaining complete freedom.

Just as he intended to walk out, a staff member pushed the door open and came in.

"I’m telling you two to hurry it up; they’ll probably be back any mome—" The person froze mid-sentence, staring in shock.

This... this situation wasn’t what they had predicted at all. Logically, the one lying unconscious on the floor should’ve been Xiang Yu.

Instead, it was the opposite. Xiang Yu stood there calmly, looking at the newcomer with a faint smile. "Hello," he greeted.

The staff member stood there dumbfounded for a long moment before finally letting out a frantic scream.

"Help! Somebody! Murder! Muuuurder!" This particular staff member handled paperwork and had a rather timid personality.

After witnessing this scene, he was absolutely terrified, assuming Xiang Yu had killed his colleagues.

His scream was so loud that the entire police building probably heard it.

Thankfully, it was noon, and many people had already left for their lunchbreaks. Otherwise, his scream would’ve gathered a crowd.

"Could you quiet down? Making all this noise isn’t good," Xiang Yu remarked, then punched the man squarely in the face.

The scream abruptly stopped as the man toppled backward like a stiff board.

With the man knocked out, Xiang Yu swiftly stepped outside and closed the door behind him.

By now, several people in the station were already running in his direction. As they saw Xiang Yu walking casually toward the exit, they paid him no mind.

"What happened?" someone yelled while running.

Xiang Yu pointed behind him and said, "I don’t know who, but someone knocked out the two officers inside. You’d better go check."

The group didn’t recognize Xiang Yu, so they just nodded at him, smiled, and rushed forward.

Xiang Yu seized the opportunity to slip away and quickly made his escape.

The time was now past noon. He wondered about the situation at the shopping mall.

Whatever the result, he’d done everything he could. Whether the final bomb was defused or not no longer concerned him.

Just as he stepped out of the police station, sirens wailed behind him.

Beating up officers in the interrogation room... it wasn’t exactly a trivial matter, but it wasn’t all that serious either.

Before the police cars with sirens even exited the gate, several other vehicles were already driving in from outside.

These cars belonged to the dejected team returning from the mall. The most disgruntled among them was none other than Chief Huang.

On their way back, Kong Shenghui had already told him he’d be losing his position as chief. The worst part? Many people overheard it.

After they returned to the station, one officer hurried over to report what had happened in the interrogation room.

But Chief Huang, who was already in a terrible mood, glared at the officer and yelled, "Scram!" before storming off to his office.

The group froze awkwardly, unsure what to do next. With three colleagues taken out in the interrogation room, they had no clue how to proceed.

Since Chief Huang wouldn’t deal with them, they decided to consult the squad leader.

The squad leader, upon hearing it was about the arrested individual who was Gao Zhitao’s associate, whispered, "Let it go for now. If nothing unexpected happens, there’ll be some personnel changes in our station very soon."

The squad leader’s words left the officer stunned. Since he hadn’t been part of the mall operation, he had no idea Chief Huang had been slapped and was about to lose his job.

But the news wasn’t exactly a secret—it had already spread quickly upon their return.

Everyone was restless, too preoccupied with their own plans to worry about anything else.

Meanwhile, Xiang Yu took advantage of the chaos to leave the station. Once he was safe, he headed toward the Tianyu Hotel. Along the way, his phone rang—it was Tie Zhuzi.

"Brother Yu, I haven’t seen you all day! Where’ve you been?" Tie Zhuzi asked, clearly worried.

"Ahem, you know how it is," Xiang Yu said.

Tie Zhuzi chuckled knowingly and teased, "Got it, Brother Yu. So, is Sister Long Wu with you? Haven’t seen her since last night either."

"What? Long Wu is missing too?" Xiang Yu tensed up immediately, recalling what Ren Baohe had said earlier.

He hadn’t been at the scene, so he didn’t know whether the bomb at the mall was entirely defused. If it wasn’t, would Ren Baohe harm his friends?

Tie Zhuzi thought Xiang Yu was joking, so he laughed and said, "Brother Yu, I get it. I’ll let you go!"

Tie Zhuzi was sitting with Wang Ze and Xiao Xuan at the time.

"What’s the deal?" Xiao Xuan asked, worried.

Tie Zhuzi smirked mysteriously and said, "Can’t spill the secret." He then leaned back on the sofa, certain that Long Wu was with Xiang Yu...
