Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)-Chapter 180: Kawaii
Chapter 180: Kawaii
Xiang Yu walked out of the building, his aura oppressive and fierce. This Demon King had not suffered such an injustice in a long time, especially from a mere immortal. He touched his bleeding forehead and gritted his teeth at the sight of the blood. "Where are they?" he demanded of the Divine Emperor. The Divine Emperor, with a calm yet authoritative presence, revealed their location.
Xiang Yu turned a corner and then another, his steps echoing in the silent night. The distant sound of sirens and the panicked murmurs of people standing outside the nightclub filled the air. He reached the middle of the road, the desolation around him amplifying his menacing presence. This time, Xiang Yu took out a rifle. He stood unwaveringly, his silhouette cutting through the darkness, the moonlight glinting off the barrel of his weapon.
Han Xin had hired him for this job, and he approached it with the precision of a surgeon. As the car’s headlights bore down upon him, Xiang Yu’s heartbeat remained steady. The lead bodyguard, who thought they had bought themselves time, widened his eyes in surprise and slight fear. The tall figure before him resembled a resentful ghost, blood dripping down his face.
"Impossible! How did he find us?" Die Liang yelled, his voice tinged with panic. He was right to ask. Unless they had a GPS tracker on their person, how could Xiang Yu have found them?
The car screeched to a halt, and the bodyguard scrambled out, their faces pale under the harsh streetlights. Xiang Yu’s eyes, cold and unyielding, locked onto them. He raised the rifle, his movements deliberate and controlled. The night seemed to hold its breath, the tension palpable.
The bodyguard gritted his teeth as he stepped on the accelerator, his mind set on running Xiang Yu over. But as he locked eyes with Xiang Yu’s unwavering gaze and sinister smile, a great sense of fear gripped him. Xiang Yu’s finger tightened on the trigger, and the world narrowed to the crosshairs.
The deafening crack echoed through the night as Xiang Yu fired twice, each shot precise and unerring. The tyres burst, and the car veered off the road, careening into a lamppost. Metal crumpled, glass shattered, and the vehicle came to an abrupt halt.
The bodyguard stumbled out, disoriented and desperate. Die Liang, the coward, ran from the car, limping from the accident. Xiang Yu stepped forward, his movements fluid and calculated. The lead bodyguard raised his own gun, but Xiang Yu was faster. A single shot to his leg, and the bodyguard collapsed, blood staining the asphalt. He groaned in pain, the fear in his eyes unmistakable.
He tried to reach for his gun with his bloodied hand, but he saw a pair of black boots. The boot kicked his gun away, leaving him defenceless. Despite his fear, he was courageous. He didn’t want to die here, not like this. But as he looked up at Xiang Yu, he knew his fate was sealed.
Just when he was about to get up and put up a fight when Xiang Yu crouched down and picked up the his gun. With practised ease, he unloaded the handgun, taking out the magazine and tossing it away. He pulled the slide back, the round in the chamber falling to the ground with a click.
"My beef is not with you, so stay down," Xiang Yu said, his voice cold and commanding. He then turned the gun around and struck the bodyguard with the grip, knocking him out cold. Xiang Yu patted his cheek mockingly. "Stay," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
He stood up and asked the Divine Emperor in his mind, "Where is the little rascal now?"
The Divine Emperor’s voice echoed in his thoughts, "He ran into a mall and snuck into an arcade. Be careful, there are children there."
Xiang Yu sighed in exasperation. He wiped the blood from his forehead with his sleeve and put away his rifle. His steps were unhurried as he casually walked towards the mall.
Entering the first open clothing store, he realized it was for women, specifically those who loved to dress in kawaii outfits. The store attendant, engrossed in her phone, was startled when she saw a broad chest well sculpted by a tight black t-shirt come into view.
She raised her head, her initial fear giving way to a mix of emotions. The way Xiang Yu was dressed, combined with the blood, made him seem like bad news. Anyone would assume he was trouble. But when she saw his face, she was, how to say it... mesmerised.
Xiang Yu’s presence was magnetic, a blend of danger and allure that was impossible to ignore. He called out, "Miss, miss... miss." He had to repeat himself several times before the young lady behind the counter responded, her eyes wide with surprise. "Do you have a hat I can buy and a face mask?" he asked.
"Huh?" she replied, clearly confused.
"A hat and a mask, do you have one?" Xiang Yu repeated, his tone patient but firm.
She pointed to a pink cap with two fluffy balls on top and a matching pink face mask. Xiang Yu sighed, he could only settle for this. He also picked out an oversized ripped white sweater. The young lady, trembling slightly, pressed the buttons on the till. "That would be twelve twenty-five," she said nervously.
Xiang Yu lamented how expensive women’s clothes were as he took out his wallet and handed her two thousand. "Keep the change," he said.
She looked at the pink hat, mask, and sweater before saying, "Sir, you look good."
Xiang Yu smiled slightly. "Thank you," he replied. Just like that, he left as quickly as he had come. He pulled down the hat and went into the elevator. A woman standing in the elevator with her child tried not to look at him. In her mind, she thought such a big man wearing such clothes was unsightly. She stiffly looked away.
The little boy pointed at Xiang Yu and said, "Brother, you look pretty."
The woman covered her child’s mouth and smiled stiffly. The elevator doors opened as Xiang Yu said, "Thank you."
