Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)-Chapter 560: Too much dog food
Chapter 560: Too much dog food
Han Zhan glanced at Han Xin with a raised eyebrow. "You do remember that I am older than you, right?" he said, trying to sound authoritative.
Han Xin’s lips quirked into a smirk as he climbed into the vehicle. "Big brother, you can ride shotgun. Your little cousin is giving up the front seat for you," he teased, the playful glint in his eyes making Han Zhan’s expression drop.
"...Seriously?" Han Zhan replied, flabbergasted at the nonchalant disregard for his seniority. He quickly added, "Then let me call Su Jing to sit with you guys. There is so much space for one more person."
It wasn’t that Han Zhan wanted to be difficult. He knew that one less person in the car would mean a squeeze for the others, making the journey a little uncomfortable.
But his main reason was to separate these two so they wouldn’t suffocate them with too much PDA. Han Xin on the other hand shut the door in his face.
Han Zhan was right. These two where like a pair of high schooler experiencing puppy love. Once the car started moving, Han Xin wasted no time and took out a medical kit. "Bring your hand over," he instructed Xiang Yu, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Xiang Yu obeyed quickly, extending his hand toward Han Xin. Han Xin took out a bottle of soothing ointment and carefully applied it to Xiang Yu’s knuckles. The cool sensation spread across Xiang Yu’s skin, causing him to sigh in comfort.
Han Xin’s fingers lingered a moment longer than necessary, relishing the warmth of Xiang Yu’s hand beneath his touch. From the passenger’s seat, Han Zhan glanced into the rearview mirror and rolled his eyes. "They are going to abuse us to death," he muttered under his breath.
Han Xin wrapped an elastic bandage around Xiang Yu’s hand, his brow furrowing slightly in concern. "Is it too tight?" he asked, focused on Xiang Yu’s reaction.
Xiang Yu flexed his fingers gently and replied, "No, it’s good."
"Good," Han Xin smiled as he held Xiang Yu’s other hand, their fingers intertwining naturally. He rubbed Xiang Yu’s thumb with his own, warmth and affection flooding between them.
At that moment, Mei leaned forward from the back seat, holding out a piece of dried fruit toward Xiang Yu’s lips. "Here, have some," she said cheerfully.
Xiang Yu turned his head and raised an eyebrow, asking, "Did you wash your hands?"
"Of course! I even sanitised them," Mei replied, her voice a mix of innocence and mischief.
Just as Xiang Yu took a bite of the dried fruit half of it dangling in the air, Han Xin’s mind sparked with an idea. An impish grin spread across his face, one filled with mischief. Before Xiang Yu could swallow, Han Xin leaned in and bit the other half of the dried fruit just before it slid into Xiang Yu’s mouth.
Time seemed to freeze as he planted a fleeting kiss on Xiang Yu’s lips, the warmth between them igniting something electric. The kiss was over before it truly began, but it lingered sweetly in the air.
In the backseat, Lian and Mei stifled their giggles, hands clamped over their mouths as they slapped each other in uncontrollable laughter.
Han Xin leaned back, chewing the remaining piece of peach as he grinned. "Mm, peach," he remarked, savouring the flavour. But his playful act had left Xiang Yu in a daze, his eyes sparkling with surprise.
Mei, unable to contain her laughter silently nudged Lian and gestured for her to feed Han Xin a piece. Lian nodded eagerly, leaning against the seat with a coy smile. "Brother, no need to take others’ food. Here, have some," she said, holding out the fruit.
Han Xin accepted it without hesitation, biting down as Lian had suggested. As expected, Xiang Yu, still reeling from the earlier kiss, instinctively leaned forward, biting off the other half. Just as he leaned back, Han Xin sprang into action, chasing after Xiang Yu’s lips once more, stealing another sweet kiss.
Lian and Mei erupted in cheerful laughter, their joyful noise filling the car. Han Zhan, seated in the front, suddenly felt a pang of envy watching the pair. Xiang Yu was right he definitely needed a girlfriend. No, a boyfriend.
"Spare us single dogs," Han Zhan mumbled, rolling his eyes.
His glance flickered to Kai Wang, who was driving, and their eyes met just as Han Zhan spoke. "We can try," Kai Wang said jokingly, a smirk playing on his lips.
Han Zhan sneered, his expression deadpan. "You are not my type," he retorted, shaking his head, the teasing lightness failing to dull his annoyance. Kai Wang burst into laughter, shifting gears with ease as they continued down the road.
"After travelling for a day and a half through the desolate wastelands, the environment began to shift dramatically. The change was so stark it felt like crossing an invisible boundary between two worlds. The barren landscape transformed into a thick, lush forest, where greenery surged up, reclaiming the land.
The five cars rolled along one of the old roads, which had patches of vibrant vegetation breaking through the cracked asphalt. The tires ground against the gravel, the sound echoing through the trees as they ventured deeper into the woods. For ten minutes, they drove, but the dense forest only opened their surroundings to a different world. A boisterous city came into view.
"Are we going in?" Han Xin turned to Xiang Yu, curiosity sparking in his eyes.
"Why not? Let’s have some fun," Xiang Yu replied with enthusiasm.
They paid for their passes as the imposing gates of the city swung open, welcoming them into Neon City. The name was fitting; towering buildings adorned with flashing neon lights filled the skyline, creating a kaleidoscope of colours against the night sky.
This city had become a beacon of restoration, one of the few places rebuilt almost to full capacity. Its open doors welcomed everyone, the strict enforcement of the mayor maintaining safety and order within the vibrant streets.
Han Zhan glanced back, squinting as the lights flickered. "Which way are we going?"
"Let’s find a hotel to spend the night and let loose a little," Xiang Yu suggested, a playful grin crossing his face.
Han Zhan sighed, feeling the familiar flicker of annoyance. He thought it was a waste of time, his frustration bubbling beneath the surface. He then glanced at Han Xin, silent but clearly unimpressed.
"And besides, we haven’t had our honeymoon yet," Xiang Yu added playfully, his eyes mischievous.
