Chapter 1465: Section 1466 Red Scarf

As Frost was filled with confusion, suddenly, his ears twitched, and he looked up towards a certain place.

Angel, who had been shocked at Frost’s strength, heard an “Eh?”from behind him. He turned around and saw Frost with a fixed gaze as if he had seen an unknown void.

As Angel was wondering, a speck of light emerged from nowhere, meandering before finally floating in front of Frost.

This tiny spot of light, at the moment of its emergence, began to expand and evolve until it turned into a fierce blazing flame.

Angel watched this flame, feeling as if a streak of red light had flashed before his eyes.

Angel rubbed his eyes, looked again, and discovered that the flame now displayed a dynamic image. The red light he had seen before was indeed coming from within the image.

The image within the flame was a shadowy figure.

This figure stood in the dark void, with its face, gender, and clothing indistinct. The only conspicuous feature was a red scarf as vivid as blood.

This scarf emitted a brilliant red glow that partially obscured the figure’s face.

The red scarf was long and fluttered in the void, like a restless Crimson Serpent.

Angel always felt that the scarf gave him a very strange sensation, as if staring at it could drag him into a mysterious vortex.

The surroundings were silent and dark.

Soul and consciousness slowly vanished, and just as Angel felt even his most basic senses might be dissipating, someone coughed in the darkness.

Angel suddenly opened his eyes to find everything before him bathed in blood-red, his body tightly bound.

“Release him,” Frost’s elegant and distinctive voice rang out near Angel’s ear. “He’s just an ordinary Wizard I’m residing with.”

“Ordinary Wizard? He doesn’t seem ordinary to me,” said a male voice, slightly muffled as if something was covering his nose, making the sound echo chamber-like.

Despite his words, the speaking man still released Angel.

As the eerie feeling of friction vanished from his skin, Angel hit the ground. It was only then that Angel realized the object that had been binding him was a long red scarf.

This long red scarf had emerged from the image in the flames. As it unwound from Angel, the scarf slowly retracted back into the image.

When the red scarf completely disappeared from the present world, the dark figure within the image gave Angel a cold glance.

Then, the fiery image began to fade slowly, eventually turning into a speck of light that dissolved into the void and disappeared.

Angel took a long breath; he could still remember the feeling of being tightly bound by the scarf—suffocating, powerless, soul and consciousness sinking… and the sensation of the scarf against his skin, all so vividly real.

He had no idea what had happened.

One second he was talking with Frost, and the next, this happened? Who was that shadow in the flame? And what was with that red scarf? Moreover, why did it suddenly attack him?

Angel’s mind was full of questions.

While he was perplexed, Frost’s voice reached his ears: “Sorry to involve you. However, Zorn wasn’t trying to kill you; he just wanted to make sure our conversation wouldn’t be overheard by others.”

Frost continued, “Like me, Zorn is a member of the Orderly Guild. After escaping from the ‘Reincarnation Casket of the Undead’, I conveyed the situation here to the Orderly Guild, who needed support. Zorn is the one sent by the Orderly Guild; he just contacted me to confirm the details of this mission.”

Having finished, Frost shrugged his shoulders and added: “Zorn wanted those matters kept secret, but since I’ve told you about the Reincarnation Casket, I won’t hide them from you.”

After listening, Angel gained some insight into the situation, but he still felt curious. According to Frost, Zorn wasn’t here, so how could that scarf traverse boundless time and space to constrict him?

In the face of Angel’s curiosity, Frost smiled and said: “Zorn is also a Mystic Hunter. Although he’s not as experienced as I am, he has resolved issues with out-of-control objects. That scarf is one of the spoils he obtained from such a mission.”

“So, that red scarf is also a mysterious object?” Angel said hesitantly.

Frost nodded, “Yes, but I won’t go into details. After all, it’s not an object of orderly nature and knowing too much might not be a good thing.”

Angel nodded in understanding. It was not of orderly nature, but controllable. Presumably, like the Dark Melody, it was also a half-ungovernable mysterious object.

While Angel was still curious about the red scarf, he knew too well the story of how curiosity killed the cat, particularly after Frost had warned that some mysterious objects, once out of control, could drag you into their rhythm with a single action or word, even across countless distances of space and time.

With these mysterious objects, the less one knew without considerable power and profound knowledge, the safer one actually was.

After explaining, Frost added, “Zorn is already near the small world where the Reincarnation Casket is located, and my brief respite is coming to an end.”

“Do you plan to venture into the Reincarnation Casket again?” Angel asked curiously.

Frost said, “That needs to be discussed with Zorn once I arrive there.”

As he spoke, Frost stood up from his seat, stretched out his hand and lightly touched the Void, as a black vortex slowly began to take shape: “It seems, the conversation I had yet to finish with you will have to wait for another time.”

Angel still had many questions about mysterious objects he hoped Frost could answer, but changes always came faster than plans.

Angel said his goodbyes with solemnity. Although he remained cautious of Frost, he couldn’t deny the immense help he’d received from him these past few days.

Frost smiled, “Instead of telling me to take care, I’d rather you take care of yourself.”

Angel looked at Frost puzzled, not understanding his meaning.

Behind Frost, a space vortex was gradually forming, and he stood in front of it, quietly assessing Angel.

Angel felt Frost’s gaze linger on his left earlobe, then sweep over his gloved right hand, and finally settled on Angel’s right eye.

“You must have had many extraordinary adventures,” Frost observed Angel’s right eye, “but no matter how good your luck is, or how much destiny favors you, it can’t last forever.”

“Every person who has walked through thorns and become a wizard has a life story that could be written into an epic of grand scope.”

“Remember, you may be special in your own world, but in the grand scheme of the Pan-Dimensional Plane, you are just one among the countless beings.”

“To ensure I have a chance to repay the favor you promised me, you’d better stay alive. And staying alive is not easy.”

“So, take care. I look forward to our next encounter.”

With that, the vortex behind Frost had become a passage to an unknown Void.

Before turning around, Frost took one last look at Angel.

After spending a few days together, he discovered that Angel was concealing many secrets. Including his hidden right hand and eye, his peculiar Soul, the Flame Mark vibrating with the frequency of Origin, and so on; these secrets were all very enticing.

Even Frost, who usually had great control over his curiosity, sometimes couldn’t help but to probe.

However, whenever he considered delving into the secrets Angel held, a vague premonition of unease arose within him. He had an inkling that things could become troublesome, or even result in unpredictable consequences.

Because of this premonition, Frost did not delve into Angel’s secrets. However, his curiosity about Angel had not diminished. The more hidden traces he found on Angel, including the object that descended today… it only made Frost more optimistic about Angel’s prospects.

The more secrets one had, the deeper one’s reserves.

“Perhaps, one day he really will step into the Domain of Mysteries?”

With that thought, Frost walked into the dark vortex.
