That famous movie scene where Kaiba draws a card from the floor—pulling the "Obelisk the Tormentor," which should no longer exist in this world—was thanks to this system, shocking Blue God for an entire year.

"But that development was only a stepping stone for a bigger project, and now it's finally about to be completed."

By now, Mokuba had led Kira to another laboratory. As soon as they entered, someone handed over a duel disk and a device resembling an earpiece, which Mokuba gave to Kira.

When he came to his senses, he looked around and found himself standing on an unfamiliar street.

It was an unknown city.

The skyline was outlined by bizarre skyscrapers straight out of a sci-fi movie, towering into the clouds. But they weren't made of concrete and glass—instead, their structures changed color and texture with the light, making the entire city look like a giant gemstone.

Kira paused, looking down at his own body.

Sight, touch, all his senses felt completely real.

But some instinct told him that this was a false world.

"Amazing, right?"

Mokuba appeared at his side, smiling.

"Since this is just a test model, our avatars are still our real-world appearances. Otherwise, you could choose any virtual image to enter."

"A Full Dive Virtual Reality Game?" Kira asked.

"Mm, not exactly like those in fantasy works, but the result is kind of similar, I suppose," Mokuba thought for a moment.

"The prototype for this technology existed many years ago—even before my brother and I took over this company. Our adoptive father, Gozaburo Kaiba, developed a rather mature version back then."

Kira realized what he was referring to.

Kaiba Gozaburo's biological son, Noah Kaiba, died in a car accident. Gozaburo downloaded Noah's consciousness data into KaibaCorp's military supercomputer. That consciousness gradually evolved into a highly intelligent AI, and over the years, created a vast virtual world.

In that arc, Noah secretly dragged Yugi and Kaiba's group into his virtual world, but by the end, that data space was destroyed.

However, the technology was probably preserved by Kaiba.

On that foundation, they developed this "Link System"—a massive virtual world, like a giant open-world online game. According to Kaiba's plan, duelists from all over the world could log in and duel online.

Naturally, Kira thought of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s sixth series, "Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains." Though set in a parallel world, it looked like a distant future.

That series was also the first in Yu-Gi-Oh! to set its main stage in an online game called "Link Vrains," where nearly all duels took place online.

"No—send me the coordinates first," Mokuba interrupted. "I want to check it out myself."

"Yes, sir."

After receiving the coordinates from HQ, Mokuba snapped his fingers. The scenery around them began to warp, spinning dizzyingly.

In an instant, they teleported to another corner of the virtual map.

This was part of Mokuba's GM privileges—allowing teleportation to any map coordinate.

Where they landed, they faced a gloomy old castle. Unlike the sci-fi buildings from before, the castle's walls were mottled and eerie, its long shadows looming like a giant monster lurking in the dark.

Mokuba frowned. "Strange, we never designed an area like this..."

"Of course not."

A voice emerged from the shadows.

A man in black, wearing sunglasses, walked out with a smile.

"Because it was designed by our master, in the shadows of your shiny, glamorous virtual world."

"Since you've found us, it should be easy for KaibaCorp to kick us out or delete our shadow base here.

But if you do that, you won't get the answers you want, will you?"

"Oh?" Mokuba folded his arms and smiled. "I smell a deal. So, what do you propose?"

"Simple. Let's decide it by the one rule President Seto Kaiba values most—the only rule in this 'Link System.'"

The man revealed his duel disk and deck.

"Let's duel. If you win, we'll honestly answer any questions you have."
