After sitting in on this meeting, Lin Fan didn't continue exploring the research lab.

He didn't think that there would be anything else that he would be able to gain from this place, so he planned on heading back to digest all of the information that they had gained.

Sirius however seemed like he was still a bit hesitant to leave.

"Even if you save them, do you think that you'll be able to restrain them? Do you think that they'll feel gratitude towards you for saving them? Unless you can figure out what kind of experiments have been done on them and figure out a way to reverse it, there's nothing that you'll be able to do." Lin Fan said in a brutally honest manner.

There was a helpless and bitter look that appeared on Sirius' face when he heard this, but there was nothing that he could say or do to refute this.

After following Lin Fan around the research lab and learning more about this place, he knew more about this place. So he also knew that what Lin Fan said was the truth and there was no denying this fact.

Even if he wanted to, there really wasn't anything that Sirius could do for these beasts that were being experimented on.

But he was an emotional person and he couldn't help feel that he should have done something for them.

In the end, Lin Fan pulled Sirius away.

Of course, they couldn't leave on their own since that would draw attention.

The only thing that they could do was wait for someone to leave this place and follow them out.

Eventually, they followed the Kalos Empire group out.

It was Count Victor's group that was leaving after they had finished touring the research lab's facilities. Though to be honest, it really wasn't as if they were actually touring this place.

It was more that they were just walking around as if they were doing this for the sake of doing it.

The other difference that they found was that the exit that Count Victor took was completely different from the one that they had followed the deers into.

There was even an elevator that directly led to the surface, but they didn't follow Count Victor into that elevator.

After all, there was no telling what would be at the top of this elevator.

There might even be someone that could see through the illusion spell. As such, it was better for them not to follow Count Victor up like this.

Instead, Lin Fan used his spiritual sense to find the markings that he had left previously.

With those markings, he was able to find the path that they had taken when they followed the deers down. Then with this path, they were able to leave the cave system through the same exit as before.

But even then, Lin Fan didn't release the illusion spell just in case.

The moment that they came out, there was no hesitation at all as they started heading in a certain direction.

It even seemed like Sirius was planning on heading back as soon as possible with the look that was in his eyes, so he was actually pushing harder than Lin Fan.

Still, it wasn't as if the limiting factor was Lin Fan's speed.

He easily matched Sirius and could have gone even faster. It was all because he had to match Sirius that they were slower than if Lin Fan went alone.

But eventually they made it back to the city and brought Amy into a private meeting.

"What are you talking about? Some kind of secret research facility?" Amy asked in a surprised and doubtful voice when she heard everything.

It wasn't strange that she had her doubts since the story that they told was a bit too hard for normal people to accept. Even Amy with her different values as a dungeon core would find it hard to accept.

This was the kind of thing that one could only easily accept if they saw it for their own eyes.

Lin Fan had expected this, so he took out the special talisman that he had prepared.

He injected his spiritual energy and showed the images that he had captured with this talisman.

He made sure to take pictures because he knew that seeing was believing.

When Amy saw these pictures, she still had a look of doubt as if she didn't want to believe this. But when she saw the serious way that Sirius looked at her, it really seemed like she had no choice but to accept this as the truth.

Even if she didn't want to believe Lin Fan, she couldn't not trust Sirius.

"What do you want me to do about it?" Amy asked in a calm voice.

She was calm because she knew that there really wasn't anything that she could do about this. Even if she was the guild master of a branch of the Adventurer's Guild, there was no doubt that she didn't have enough power to take care of this.

After all, the ones that were backing this were the Kalos Empire.

But it wasn't as if Lin Fan expected her to do anything.

There was only one thing that he needed from Amy and that was…

"Are you kidding me? No matter what you say, I would never do anything like that!" Amy vehemently denied the request that Lin Fan made.

Even Sirius had a dazed look on his face as he was caught off guard by the request that Lin Fan made.

With the way that Amy looked at Lin Fan, it was almost as if he had asked her to end this world or something. Though in her mind, it was the same as that since the request he had made was something that she just couldn't go through with.

After all, what Lin Fan had just asked of Amy was for her to go and issue a dungeon battle challenge to Haku.

For someone in the Haku fanclub like Amy, this was like asking her to go against her faith in a god. One shouldn't look down on how much someone could worship their idol, especially someone who had a long lifespan like Amy or the rest of the fanclub.

This was something that had been developed over many years, far more than normal humans could live. So the level of worship that Amy and the rest of the fanclub were more fanatic than normal fans were.

To ask them to do something like this to Haku…

Well, it was already taking Amy quite a bit of patience to hold herself back.

If it was anyone else that had suggested this, there was no doubt that she would have gone all out against them.

But Lin Fan didn't care about this as he said, "If you don't do this, then you'll regret it."

Amy narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan when she heard this.

She could tell that he didn't mean this as a threat, but rather as a genuine warning. And since it was an actual warning, it was only natural that she would be confused by why he was giving this warning.

Especially since he was being so serious that she had no choice but to take him seriously.

It even scared her a little the way that he was being so serious…

But in the end, doing something like this really wasn't easy for her. Just a single mistake would be all that it would take to make her idol hate her and that was the last thing that she wanted.

Sirius could see that Amy was struggling, so he finally said, "Just do it. If it wasn't important, then he definitely wouldn't ask you to do something like this."

Amy looked shocked and even a bit betrayed when she heard Sirius say this, but it really wasn't an easy thing for her to do.

Seeing this, Sirius said, "I can do it myself, but I want you to do it. This is something that I believe is the right thing to do and all I can do is ask you to trust me if you don't trust him. Please."

It was the final 'please' that finally broke Amy.

Instead of looking betrayed, it seemed that she was thinking about Sirius.

It seemed that she was worried about him because of the way that he said this.

So she issued the challenge to Haku.

In a matter of seconds, there was a request for the negotiation room to be used.

"Bring me in as well." Lin Fan said when he saw her expression change. Even though he didn't know what had happened, he could already guess based on the way that her expression changed.

Amy glared at Lin Fan when she heard this, but she didn't waste time since it was a request from Haku.

At the same time, she was planning on throwing Lin Fan under the bus if anything went wrong.

So like that, they disappeared from the room and appeared in the negotiation space.

When they arrived, they found that Haku and Rokuko were already sitting there waiting for them.

Haku narrowed her eyes to look at them which made Amy tremble, but Haku's eyes were never on Amy.

Rather, they were on Lin Fan the entire time.

It was as if she had already guessed that Lin Fan was the one behind this dungeon challenge.

So she said, "What is it? Did you find something that important that it couldn't wait for you to come back to report?"
