{Chapter: 221 Virginia Potts}
High above the city, one F22 Raptor after another erupted into flaming wreckage. Some tumbled from the skies in spirals of thick black smoke, while others simply vanished in midair with thunderous explosions that shook the clouds themselves.
"Oh yeah, cry for me!" William howled with glee, his voice crackling through the radio as he gripped the controls of one of the stolen fighters. His laughter echoed in the cockpit, manic and unrestrained.
Boom! Boom!
Two surface-to-air missiles launched from ground-based batteries below streaked through the air like fire-spewing serpents, locking onto William's fighter with deadly precision. Their tracking systems activated, hunting him like mechanical wolves.
Down below, a sea of military forces was on the move. Armored columns rumbled forward, missile carriers set up their launch pads, and infantry battalions took position. The objective was simple: neutralize or capture the man who had brought chaos to one of the world's busiest cities.
Seeing the incoming threat on the radar, William grinned. "Let's spice things up."
In a heartbeat, he yanked the emergency release. The cockpit hatch blew open, and William leapt out into the open sky. A second later, the two missiles struck the F22, tearing it apart midair in a fireball that bathed the skyline in light.
"He bailed out! Engage, engage!" shouted a commander from the ground.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Soldiers opened fire with a storm of bullets aimed at the falling figure. But the bullets never reached him. One meter from his body, they halted—suspended in midair as if hitting an invisible wall. Dozens of rounds floated around him like a halo of death.
Still plummeting, William smirked. "So much love for me. I'm touched. Let me return the favor."
With a casual gesture, the bullets spun and reversed course. In a split second, they rocketed back toward the shooters with deadly precision.
"Aaahh!" Screams broke out from the soldiers. Blood sprayed the pavement as rows of them collapsed. Panic spread like wildfire, yet the reinforcements did not falter.
"Missiles! Cannons! Launch everything! Do not let him land!" barked the senior officer.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Missiles, tank shells, and explosive rounds roared through the air in unison. But just before impact, William's pupils shifted into an eerie pattern. The projectiles froze midair, trembling under some unseen force.
"You think this will kill me? Let me show you how I play war," William said coldly. With a flick of his hand, every missile and shell turned back around—pointing directly at the military lines.
"Retreat! Run, run!!" someone screamed.
It was too late.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sky turned red. A blinding chain of explosions consumed the street. The shockwaves sent vehicles flying. Fires ignited instantly, engulfing buildings on both sides. The sheer force of the destruction flattened structures into rubble, leaving behind a burning wasteland.
From within the inferno, a green supercar burst through the smoke, its engine roaring like a beast. The roof was already open, and Crosshairs' voice rang out.
"Boss! Jump in!"
William landed with perfect timing, sliding smoothly into the driver's seat.
"Hit it, Crosshairs."
"Roger that," Crosshairs replied. The supercar accelerated, its wheels skimming across the ruined asphalt, shooting straight through the hellish flames and vanishing down the road, leaving only destruction in its wake.

Far away from the chaos, perched atop a scenic cliff overlooking Malibu Beach, stood a lavish villa bathed in golden sunlight. Waves crashed gently below, and seagulls glided across the pristine skies. The estate screamed wealth and status—an oasis of peace, seemingly untouched by the world's madness.
Suddenly, the broadcast on a massive TV screen inside the villa interrupted the tranquil atmosphere.
"Breaking News. We bring you exclusive coverage of an event that has sent shockwaves around the globe. Earlier this morning, a catastrophic terrorist attack unfolded in the heart of New York City—on none other than Broadway. Police forces and military units jointly launched a massive manhunt targeting William, currently branded the world's most dangerous criminal."
The reporter's face was grim.
"Tragically, the outcome was nothing short of catastrophic," the news anchor announced with a solemn expression, her voice trembling with urgency. "The New York Police Department has been completely neutralized. All deployed F-22 Raptor fighter jets have been decimated. Our armored divisions were obliterated within minutes of engagement. The confirmed military and NYPD death toll has already exceeded 5,300 lives, with the number still rising."
She paused briefly as the screen behind her shifted to harrowing drone footage: the New York skyline blackened by smoke, buildings reduced to rubble, emergency vehicles buried beneath collapsed concrete, and lifeless bodies partially covered with American flags.
"The number of civilian casualties caught in the crossfire is still being assessed," the anchor continued gravely. "But early estimates suggest over 50,000 people may have been killed or injured. Preliminary damage reports estimate economic losses exceeding fourty billion U.S. dollars. A massive rescue operation is currently underway."
The screen then shifted again, this time showing headlines flashing across international media outlets. Panic. Mourning. Outrage.
The reporter's tone turned even more severe. "Authorities are now calling this the most destructive domestic conflict in the history of the United States. Some defense officials are even likening it to an act of open war. In terms of scale and devastation, this has already surpassed the events of 9/11 by a wide margin."
An emergency press briefing from the White House was shown next. "The President of the United States has just signed an emergency presidential order," a press secretary announced. "He has officially classified the incident as a national war-level threat. The Navy, Army, and Air Force have been mobilized and instructed to hunt down the individual known as William—by any means necessary. This is now a global manhunt."
A sudden transition played next on the screen: a chaotic montage of the 'Broadway Incident.' Explosions. Fighter jets falling from the sky. Soldiers being thrown like rag dolls. A blur of green—the suspected vehicle used for escape. And at the center of it all: William.
---
Malibu Cliffside – California
On the edge of a breathtaking cliff overlooking Malibu Beach stood an ultra-modern glass villa. Sleek, futuristic, and carved into the cliffside, the estate screamed affluence and power. From the outside, the villa seemed peaceful—an ironic contrast to the chaos erupting on the East Coast.
Inside, Tony Stark sat on a designer couch, staring at a large, floating projection in front of him. He was holding a tall glass of kale-and-spinach juice, but his eyes were focused and cold. As the footage played out again—the decimation of U.S. forces—his expression darkened.
"Damn it," Tony growled. He hurled the glass against the wall, shattering it into a spray of green liquid and glass shards.
"William... I swear I'll kill you with my own hands."
His jaw clenched tightly, fury etched into every line of his face. "Dad... there's no one I can't defeat. I won't be haunted by your ghosts anymore. I'm not afraid of the man you feared."
He remembered his father—Howard Stark—once telling him as a child that only one man had ever terrified him.
That man was William.
"Sir," came the calm, computerized voice of Jarvis, his AI assistant. "May I remind you, allowing anger to cloud your mind can severely affect your judgment."
"I know, Jarvis," Tony snapped, still staring at the screen. His fists trembled with barely contained rage.
Jarvis continued. "During World War II, William was one of the few subjects successfully enhanced with the Super Soldier Serum. However, that's not all. His strength has grown exponentially since then. He has been hiding, evolving—far beyond our expectations."
"I don't care," Tony hissed through gritted teeth. "I will end him, no matter what it takes."
The news projection resumed. "Humanity's public enemy, William, has demonstrated terrifying strength—far beyond human limits. He is a threat not just to one nation, but to the entire world. The people are waiting... for someone, anyone, to rise and defeat this demon."
Just then, Jarvis spoke again. "Miss Potts is here."
Tony turned his head as the sliding glass doors opened. Pepper Potts entered with a purposeful stride, dressed in a crisp, tailored navy-blue skirt suit. Her blonde hair was tied into a tight ponytail, and a leather briefcase was clutched in her hand.
"You should be resting," she scolded him immediately. "You're still injured. Why are you wasting time watching this footage again and again?"
---
Beneath the Cliff – Offshore
Just below the cliff, a green sports car floated miraculously atop the sea, supported by advanced technology. On top of the vehicle stood William and four of his companions. The waves lapped quietly beneath them, contrasting the intense conversation above.
"That villa has a fairly advanced early warning system," said the White Queen, eyes scanning the estate above. "If we approach recklessly, we'll trigger every defense mechanism."
William chuckled. "Please. That garbage system? Just hack it. I want the lights off and the doors wide open."
The White Queen closed her eyes, connecting mentally to the network. After a moment, her face tensed.
"There's resistance," she said slowly. "An advanced artificial intelligence is guarding it. Not human."
"That would be Jarvis," William replied with interest, folding his arms.
---
Inside the Villa
"Sir, something is breaching my command center," Jarvis's voice rang out, distorted and pained. "I'm under heavy digital assault... I— I cannot hold it off."
"What!?" Tony's face paled in disbelief. "No one should be able to hack Jarvis!"
Suddenly, the entire villa plunged into darkness. Lights went out. Screens went black. The AI systems fell silent.
"What's going on!?" Pepper shouted, spinning around.
Tony growled under his breath. "We're under attack. Let's go."
They moved quickly into the grand hall.
---
Moments Later – The Main Hall
William and his three companions were already seated on the luxurious leather sofas, completely relaxed, as if they owned the place. He casually uncorked a bottle of expensive red wine and poured glasses for Alice and Ada, offering a smug grin.
"I want some too!" the White Queen whined, crossing her arms. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"You're a child. Go drink some milk," William replied, waving her off.
"Hmph! You're bullying me," she pouted.
A feminine voice echoed through the hall, tense and uncertain. "Who are you? Why are you here?!"
Alice looked up and smirked. "She's pretty. Is she the one you came for, William?"
William didn't answer. He sipped his wine and looked toward the approaching footsteps with eyes that gleamed with danger.
