WorldCrafter - Building My Underground Kingdom-Chapter 100: You’re Late!
Elvira's gaze sharpened, her mind racing as she analyzed Storm's every move. 'How the hell is this beast doing this?'
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.
She had fought magical creatures before, seen beasts using magic-like abilities but not to this scale.
This wasn't some brute-force application of raw mana like lesser creatures. Elvira's body burned from the lightning strikes, her muscles screaming with pain—but her mind?
It was sharper than ever.
'Is it their bodies? Their organs?' Inferno and Storm's attacks weren't just wild bursts of power—they were like magic.
Her eyes flickered, looking at storm coming at her. 'Did they consume some kind of relic?'
If that were the case, she had read of similar things before. Relic that mutate beast giving them abilities beyond their nature.
'But if it's not that…' Her breath hitched. 'Then that means—'
These creatures weren't mutations. They were normal here.
A slow, creeping realization settled in her gut. If Storm and Inferno were just the beginning… what the hell else was lurking in this layer?
But she had no time to dwell on it.
CRACKLE! BOOM!
A bolt of lightning ripped toward her.
Elvira's body moved before her mind could process. She twisted, barely avoiding the strike, sparks dancing across her skin.
She was adapting. Faster. Her eyes narrowed. She could see it now.
Storm's attacks followed a pattern.
Every fourth strike, there was a half-second delay. Every full-powered blast left a brief gap before the next.
'There. A chance.'
BOOM!
Storm flashed forward, claws crackling with pure voltage—but this time, Elvira was ready.
"Accel Tempest!"
She cast the spell again, pushing her body beyond its limits.
SHOOM!
The moment Storm struck—she was already gone. Sparks erupted as his attack hit nothing but air.
Elvira reappeared directly behind him. Her energy blade glowed like a star. And she swung.
Her's blade carved through strom carapace. Each strike was sharper, and faster. The once-overwhelming barrage of lightning was now nothing more than a predictable sequence of movements.
Storm roared in frustration. His body crackled, arcs of lightning surging across his carapace. But Elvira had already adjusted.
SLASH!
A deep gash tore through his spine.
BOOM!
She vanished again. Storm's six eyes darted wildly searching, but she was already moving.
Another flash—her blade struck again. His carapace cracked.
Electricity snapped out of control, lashing wildly in all directions. Storm's stance wavered, his entire form shuddering.
BZZZZZTT!!!
Storm let out a thunderous roar, his entire body exploding with raw energy. As his gaze filled with anger.
"Just what I needed." Elvira smirked, breathing heavily.
The more times passed, the more enraged Strom become. His attack become more predictable and full of openings.
ZAP!
A stray bolt barely grazed her cheek, but she didn't care. She moved in. This was her chance. Her blade rose high, mana coiling around it like a vortex.
Storm saw it. He tried to dodge but too late. Elvira swung down. "Die!"
CRACK!
Her blade pierced straight through his torso. Storm's body jerked violently. His six eyes flickered. His entire body trembled.
She pushed deeper, the mana within the blade screaming piercing inch by inch trough Storm's carapace.
Then— BOOOOOM!!!
A wave of searing heat erupted from the side. Elvira's eyes widened.
Inferno has arrived. His claw, wreathed in white-hot flames, smashed into her side with the force of a meteor.
"ARRGHH!!" Her body flew.
CRASH!
She slammed into the ground, rolling, tumbling, her limbs barely responding. Her vision blurred. Everything ached.
Her mana circuits—completely out of control. The backlash from pushing herself too hard, using too much Violent mana… she had reached her limit.
The final strike from Inferno had been the last straw.
And yet… Her gaze remained locked onto them.
Storm, barely stood up, his chest still leaking dark blue blood.
Inferno glanced at Storm's battered form, then scoffed. "I gave you a chance. And instead of winning, you almost got yourself killed again? You're pathetic, Storm."
Storm said nothing. Not because he didn't want to. But because he couldn't. He barely had the energy to stand, let alone argue.
Elvira had pushed him to his limit. If Inferno hadn't interfered, he would have died. And for the first time… he acknowledged it. He had underestimated her.
Meanwhile, Elvira tried to move. Tried to stand. Her body refused. "Damn it…!" She gritted her teeth, fury still burning in her gaze. But she knew the truth.
She had nothing left.
Her mana was completely drained. She couldn't even pull from the atmosphere anymore—it was too wild, too volatile that taking it with her body's condition is just equal suicide.
She had one final option. Her Aetheric abilities. Possession.
Storm was barely clinging to life. He was weak enough. Theoretically, she could take over his body.
But… She hesitated. Possessing something as strong as an Elemental Ravager, especially in her current condition, was beyond dangerous.
If she failed—she would die.
Her mind raced, desperately searching for another way. Nothing.
Inferno's six eyes locked onto her motionless form. His grin widened.
FWOOSH!
His jaws opened wide a white-hot inferno surged forward.
There was no way to dodge. No mana to block. Elvira exhaled sharply, then closed her eyes. She braced for impact.
But the attack never came.
Instead— BAM!
The ground trembled as something massive crashed down. When Elvira forced her eyes open, she saw a familiar back. Her breath hitched, fear dissolving into something warmer. A quiet relief. Somehow, just seeing him there made her feel everything will be alright.
Her voice was weak, but she managed a smirk. "My beloved… you're late. Very, very late."
Ben didn't reply immediately. At first, he wanted to throw out a sarcastic remark, something light to break the tension. But when he saw her condition, the words died on his tongue. His jaw clenched, his grip on his pickaxe tightening.
Fury burned in his gaze.
Without a word, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a bracelet, the diamond surface of the White Gemstone catching the faint glow of the battlefield. He tossed it to her. "Take it. Get your strength back. I'll handle the rest."
Then, slowly, his gaze shifted.
Storm. Inferno. Both battered, but still standing. His fingers flexed around the pickaxe resting on his shoulder. His muscles coiled like a beast about to pounce.
"I almost killed one of your buddies," he muttered, rolling his shoulder swith a menacing crack. "But now you've gone and touched my people. Big mistake."
His pickaxe lifted, the sharp edge gleaming as he pointed it straight at them.
"So… which one of you dies first?"
