Chapter 456 -458: The Salvation of the Mother Goddess is Underway
“Data integration is normal, and the Crystal Wall Ring World Orbital Base has finally been connected to the Magic Network. The subsequent base port permissions have been secured as well.”
Qin Muye watched the newly integrated system with satisfaction, deeming the first step a success.
This was no easy feat, after all. Qin Muye had deployed a large number of people for the job, considering that the Crystal Wall Ring World Orbital Base itself is a massive structure enveloping a seventh-order world, significantly larger in size than the Main Material Plane.
Based on past usage rates, it was utilized at a maximum of 1%, while the rest lay dormant due to the absence of corresponding bases—that is, Divine Countries and Divine Entities—requiring reactivation and further inspection.
There was no issue with the entirety of the Ring World Orbital Base, but having been dormant for too long raised concerns of potential problems, and although most of the regional orbits were untroubled, it was still prudent to remain cautious.
“Unfortunately, it can only serve as an external node for the Star Array, not quite qualifying for the actual construction of a Star Array.”
Qin Muye had initially assumed that the entire Crystal Wall Ring World Orbital Base would suffice, but further calculations proved it inadequate due to its limited scope.
If the Star Array was to be built with such limited scope, it would seem rather penny-pinching and might not even achieve his preset goals. Upgrading later was possible, of course, but why proceed in stages if it could be done in one fell swoop?
So he shifted his target, aiming to incorporate the entire Gods’ Realm server.
However, it was necessary to progress step by step, starting with securing the entire Crystal Wall Ring World Orbital Base and inducing the creation of enough Divine Countries to serve as nodes.
Then, the whole system would undergo a transformation, for what he needed was a powerful computer, not a weapon—and the Crystal Wall Ring World Orbital Base was indeed a weapon, fortunately one that could be retooled.
The part that required modification would be financially covered by Qin Muye himself, though not immediately.
Priorities must be set when undertaking tasks. A premature transformation might compromise the base’s port generating capabilities, leaving Qin Muye to shoulder the resource burden for the Divine Countries.
Therefore, he would have to wait until the generation of Divine Countries was complete before transforming the base, after which he could face opponents from the Main Material Plane.
The Main Material Plane was chosen by Qin Muye as the core.
Transforming an entire world into his Star Array was an enormous undertaking.
After the completion of the Crystal Wall Ring World Orbital Base, its modification would involve a world-devouring process, essentially converting the world into his own rather than an isolated entity.
This process was not only about creation but also a method for Qin Muye to gradually reclaim territorial rights.
Otherwise, was he merely creating a Titan Level Giant Structure for the sake of it?
If all his efforts were in vain, what would happen? Thus, everything Qin Muye did was for maximized benefits; he would never engage in a loss-making venture.
“Yet, these Divine Entities seem to have surprised me somewhat. Although their inactivity has already caused huge chaos, they managed to shine in the darkness and even evolve to a certain extent, which doesn’t seem quite normal.”
Gazing at the radiance emanating from the dark Main Material Plane, that radiance was of the frenzied Divine Entities, or more precisely, the Gendaya Mother Goddess.
“It seems the opposition is evolving, or have they touched upon their Divine Position?”
The core logic of the Gendaya Mother Goddess is simple: ensure the survival and proliferation of the Three-eyed Tribe. Yet, Qin Muye’s orders to his subordinates—the Spirit Monsters—to strip away the sun, had stirred the Mother Goddess, a being similar to logic and the concept of divinity, into action.
So far, she hasn’t gone mad like other artificially created belief-based Divine Entities, perhaps due to her deep connection with the world or possibly because she lacks self-awareness.
Still, she has begun to actively seek solutions.
Unable to leave the cradle of the Main Material Plane, she naturally can’t just create a sun. Even if she could leave, the Gendaya Mother Goddess lacks the capability.
After all, she doesn’t have any physical form and can only influence reality through these artificially created belief-based Divine Entities.
The reason for shining is likely an attempt to replace the sun, but that’s probably easier said than done.
As it stands, it is essentially a situation of utter desperation.
Apart from the territory of Zijing Mountain, all other regions are backward and ignorant, plagued by various crazed Transcendents causing havoc everywhere. Thus, extinction seems to be a matter of time.
If it were a modern society or some relatively normal Transcendent society, they might not face extinction, since they could save themselves. But this world truly cannot, having long been suppressed by the Church and the Nobles, completely devoid of any resistance.
Perhaps other animals and plants will endure, but this degenerated Gendaya Civilization certainly will not make it through.
It is precisely for this reason that the Gendaya Mother Goddess is actively trying to save Her offspring; for when the cradle is broken, and the children have not grown, they face the malevolence of annihilation.
“The result is negligible, there’s no chance of turning things around, unless…”
Qin Muye didn’t have much hope for the Divine acting as a substitute for the sun after going rogue in their artificial belief state. Even if they did shine, what of it? Due to contamination by Divine Power, the affected animals and plants cannot survive, and those that do resemble monsters rather than food.
Moreover, these artificially believed Deities can’t possibly go on forever. They may look mighty now, but it’s all fat, so to speak. Having lost the Divine System, faith simply cannot be converted into Divine Power. When the Divine Power runs out, it will be time for Death.
Not even the Gendaya Mother Goddess has any means to stop it.
“Unless they switch tactics, starting with the Mind Network of the Three-eyed Tribe—then they might have a chance to turn things around.”
The real hope lies with those awakening and reviving among the Three-eyed Clan, for they possess technology. As long as they develop it, even in the dark, they can survive and proliferate.
So it all depends on whether the Gendaya Mother Goddess’s decision-making mechanism has priorities.
Technology could indeed allow them to face danger, but without the technology of the Gendaya Civilization, both the Gendaya Civilization and the Three-eyed Clan are doomed.
However, there could be a contradiction, where it is determined that technology from the Gendaya Civilization is needed, but also that developing it could lead to danger. Then there is either a crash or, just as before, the Goddess would carry on while figuratively slapping Her own face.
Lacking self-awareness has its advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantage is that actions might be contradictory or even logically conflicting, while the advantage is there will never be any hesitation. Even if it means contradicting Herself, She’ll complete the task without considering any costs or consequences.
“That’s also a problem. After I deal with the Ring World Orbital Base on Crystal Wall, I’ll have to find a way to eliminate the Gendaya Mother Goddess.”
Even though Qin Muye thought highly of the Gendaya Mother Goddess, it didn’t mean he needed Her. It was just that he didn’t have the capacity to deal with Her at the moment; otherwise, he would have cleared out all the Three-eyed ones.
He might not be able to kill the Gendaya Mother Goddess, but couldn’t he kill the Three-eyed Tribe?
The very existence of the Gendaya Mother Goddess depends on the Gendaya Civilization of this world. Once that civilization is gone, the Gendaya Mother Goddess will naturally cease to exist, no matter how powerful She is.
In the meantime, however, he expects to face Her backlash. It’s likely that Qin Muye himself will have to take action to withstand it; the Spirit Monsters probably won’t be able to hold out.
“I always feel that this won’t be so easy. Even the Prayer Technique can’t give me an answer; it seems there must be some hidden thread.”
Regarding the Gendaya Mother Goddess, Qin Muye would actually prefer if She could truly descend into reality. After all, killing Her would mean treasure drops, which would be far more substantial than those from any Holy Light God or God of Fertility.
“I could try to steer things in that direction. Since I have to fight anyway, I might as well fight where there’s greater benefit.”
Qin Muye looked at the faint light in the Main Material Plane, contemplating in his mind how he could maximize the interests of this Gendaya Mother Goddess, like forcing Her out, studying Her and then killing Her for the Treasure Box.
“The difficulty is big if you say it’s big but small if you say it’s small. Her overindulgence is Her greatest weakness.”
“It’s just that this indulgence is something most can’t handle.”
Isn’t the Gendaya Civilization exactly unable to handle the Mother Goddess’s indulgence, leading to the whole civilization regressing to its current state, to the point even their signature third eye has devolved away?
